Nice tablet but can't be unlocked!

Light weight & perfect size with an excellent display. Buyers need to beware that Samsung didn't factory unlock this AT&T model or create an unlock code for it before shipping it to Best Buy. AT&T tried to get an unlock code from Samsung for me, but Samsung insists they cannot provide one, regardless of the FCC's ruling about unlocking devices. If AT&T isn't available where you live you will have to use wi-fi only.

Great Tablet, but...

I am an Apple Fan boy.... I bought this over the iPad Mini 3 Retina. Mainly because of the cost and expandable storage.
This is a great tablet. It has an amazingly clear screen. Beautiful sound. It makes your videos and pictures seem ultra-realistic. It allows you to add up to 128 GB SD Card (highly recommended).
But.... it's Android 4.4.2. You must run a battery saver program (Battery Doctor is recommended). I hope that Samsung will update the OS to Lollipop 5.0.

Awful Tablet

I have been using this tablet for a few months now. I get a lot of lag and cannot even scroll without the tablet stuttering. Playing games on it is not ideal and battery life is just the worst. If I just leave it on my desk for a day and don't touch it, I am lucky if it is even still on and hasn't died by the time I use it the next day. I don't understand the point of it having 3GB of RAM when 2-2.5 is used by the system in standby.
To sum it all up, the Tab S has the worst battery life I have seen on a tablet in years, it is super laggy and has trouble doing the most basic tasks smoothly, TONS OF BLOATWARE, and over half of the built in storage is used out of the box. How can this be considered a premium device when my iPad from almost 3 years ago runs circles around this and an ASUS tablet I bought for $150 outperforms this junk.
Samsung needs to step up their game and release a decent product for once.

Dead after only eight months

I have owned many electronic devices. All of them have lasted years because I take very good care of them. My Samsung 8.4 Tab just died after only eight months of use. I'm sending it in under warranty. Unbelievable.

Unlike all the snapdragon Galaxy Tab S models, this one is Exynos and AT&T has locked its BootLoader. So you cannot root this device. Ever.
