Perfect size! Not to big, not to small. Love the resolution, speed, camera and 4 speakers for listening to media. It did come with an adapter for headphones. Holds charge a long time. I didn't take it out of the box for a week because I was waiting for a case that I ordered. (Unicorn Beetle). I tend to drop things! Lol

I was looking for a tablet that actually was fast with high definition screen. This Samsung s5e was the exact option I wanted. I paid a little extra for all the performance and that was fine once I used the tablet. This tablet is very thin so I did buy a case. The four speakers near each corner makes the sound excellent and Dolby Atmos is like another performance that adds bass and greater audio. The battery is long lasting enough for me to use all day. Screen looks great outside. Finger print scanner is power button as well and is quick to open home screen. I would buy this tablet again.

So much better than Tab A 7.0

I purchased the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (8gb) a few years ago based on reviews. Honestly, it was a bit of a let down, mainly because it was slow and had little storage(even with 16gb sd card). The screen was OK, but nothing great.
I decided to use some Xmas money and B-day coupon to purchase the S5e. Huge upgrade from the Tab A. Much faster, 64gb storage, and a very nice (and bigger) screen. It's also thin and has relatively small bezels, so screen looks even bigger. Battery life, so far, has been excellent. The only time I use it for extended time is streaming Netflix, Amazon video or Xfinity. I'd say it'll use ~ 10% battery per hour (I never really paid attention to that though). In standby mode, it uses very little battery.
I got a free Samsung case, which as others have said, offers very little side protection, but it does protect the screen and back, and it's a nice stand. I wouldn't pay the ~ $70 for the case, but can't pas up free.

The tablet is fast with great sound. I love the high resolution 10 inch screen. It is much easier to use on a commute than a full laptop. I have been able to install all my Samsung, Android, and even Amazon Apps (by downloading the Amazon .apk) on my new tablet. The Samsung switch app even transferred apps and content from my old Apple ID. I love being able to easily bring everything with me anywhere in the house or my backyard.

The most vibrant screen I’ve seen in a long time. The fact that you can turn a smart tv into a desktop with this tablet! I bought this tablet specifically for XCloud gaming from Microsoft’s ultimate game pass, bundled with POWER-A XCloud gaming controller im able to play match making halo games within 5 minutes? How awesome is that? Runs Android games super sharp as well. Very satisfied with this purchase and the battery lasts forever. I also use this tablet as my stream channel screen for twitch and it never disappoints.

Great Android Tablet!

Although I was mainly using my 5-year old Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 for watching videos, running some apps when I needed to was becoming painfully slow. I was ready for something a bit faster, a little bigger and with more built-in storage. This new Galaxy Tab S5e (64GB) is exactly what I was looking for!
The size is great! For a 10.5" screen, having a thin bezel all around and no physical front home buttons, it is not a whole lot bigger than my old 8" tablet. It quite a bit smaller than the (2016) Galaxy Tab A 10.1" tablets that my kids have. And SO THIN!! It's thinner than the 8" and weighs about the same, if not a little bit lighter! (check out the pictures comparing the sizes)
This display is great, with the Super AMOLED screen and a resolution of 2560x1600. So far, the new OneUI that comes with the Android 9 (Pie) is quite a bit of an improvement over their previous UI (which is why I've never really liked Samsung phones, even though we love then many other Samsung items we own - from TVs to Appliances). Also, I like the "double-tap" to turn on the screen (similar to my LG phone, which I always seem to try on all screens), just wish it could turn the screen off the same way. My only nit-pick is that when scrolling to the next Home screen or application page, the "slide" when you barely swipe could be a little quicker, especially in Landscape (you can swipe fast to make it go faster, but it's not what I prefer to be required to do). Also, one thing I wish that would work with it is an S-Pen (the kids' Tab A tablets have them).
The thin on/off button is on the side and is also the fingerprint scanner. It is recessed a little bit to keep from hitting it accidentally. The scanner seems to be fairly responsive, even with its smaller size, so no issues so far. You can also set up facial recognition, but I won't be using it.
Battery life has been extremely good so far. When on Standby, it may use about 5-10% a day. After a week of usage, with maybe 7 hours of video and 5 hours of streaming radio, I finally decided to charge it again, and it was only down to 25% left.
The cameras are OK, but I won't really be using it for pictures. It has a 13MP rear camera and a 8MP front camera. The rear camera does have some of the different modes you see on most phone cameras, such as Panorama, Hyperlapse and Live focus, along with the Pro mode to manually changes some of the exposure settings.
Luckily, I mainly use bluetooth headphones when listening to music/videos as there is no longer a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack. But a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is provided.
All in all, this is a great Android tablet with a nice, lighter-weight design!

Prepare to be stunned by a tablet display! The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e has a gorgeous Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560x1600. The front of the tablet is almost all screen with very small bezels and the back is made out of a metal (aluminum I believe). The Snapdragon processor never left me wishing for more speed and the included microsd card is very nice to have alongside the built in 64GB of storage. There are four speakers two on each of the smaller sides of the tablet and they get surprisingly loud and are clear. The tablet is so thin and light I don't think your hands would ever get tired from holding it. Samsung's Android skin called "OneUi" is very slick and alongside their UI customization app Goodlock you can get the added benefit of multi-tasking free floating windows and other features that are unavailable on other Android tablets. There is an included fast charger that allows you to quickly charge your tablet or you can disable the fast charge in the tablet settings. Samsung really knocked it out of the park with this tablet it's down right perfect.

You get what you pay for and this is a Ferrari running circuits against domestic sedans. Screen to weight ration the S5e is worth every dollar. Other models are cheaper, but where you gain in lower dollar value you sacrifice in both performance and weight. All the Samsung models are light compared to older generations, but the S5e is significantly ligher.
This unit was to replace a failing Kindle fire HD. The screen is 3+ inches larger and was the same. It runs the latest android OS, 9 pie I think and that is like running windows 10 vs XP. Both work but cant upgrade older and older not compatible with anything new. Not trying to bash Kindle, because when the fire HD came out it was a Cadillac and over the years purchased 7 before looking to this upgrade.
Lightning fast because it has serious processor, ample ram and ridiculous resolution. Has bluetooth 5.0 so it connects to any and everything I need to connect to. As future proof as you can get in a tablet. Highest quality of every component. Has the power of a laptop in the size and comfort of a tablet. Excellent battery life and quick to charge. It could charge quicker but I use the gen X magnetic cables and rather than going for fastest charge I wan't to be able to transfer data as well.
Plenty of built in storage, with room to add on with SD and/or portable USB devices. Weight, display and bluetooth 5 were my deciding factors, but the 13 MP camera was added bonus. It's there but does anyone ever us it to take pictures? It takes unbelievably good pictures. I thought my digital point and shoot took good clear pictures, but this put that all to shame. You'd think awkward, but the software takes perfect every time. The camera features were unexpected and the panoramic mode is incredible.
It's only been a month and haven't yet scratched the surface of what the S5e can do. It has exceeded expectations of the basics such as reader, browser, and video.

I just needed to inform you guys that I'm actually writing this review on the very tablet I'm reviewing using the Samsung keyboard cover. I have owned this for over a month since writing this so I feel comfortable speaking my mind.
The first thing I need to say is that this tablet is the perfect size and aspect ratio for my needs. It's 10.5 inches and a 16:10 aspect so it has a similar feel to a small laptop. The screen itself looks incredibly good and has a high resolution so that I can watch stuff in 1440p, which makes this tablet all the more impressive. Another point to mention is the sound quality from the four speakers. They get loud and can actually produce a bit of bass. However, I would not depend on these to entertain a party, but if you don't want to bother with headphones the speakers do well enough. Speaking of headphones, this tablet unfortunately ditches the headphone jack. I find this less annoying because there is a USB C to 3.5mm jack adapter included in the box. But of course, bluetooth is always an option.
Now when it comes to using the tablet itself, it is really great overall. I basically feel like this is a pro-level product at half the cost of other "pro" tablets. Yes, it runs android and yes, your phone can do the same thing. But your phone can't magnetically connect to a folio keyboard that also becomes it's case that can very easily be typed on comfortably. Yes, you do have to pay extra for it, but with the money you're saving compared to the competitors from the Cupertino Space Donut, I say it's worth it. Not to mention that you can still put in an SD card to expand the storage as much as you want, and 64gb as the base storage isn't that big of a deal because of the epandability. Oh yea, this tablet also packs a USB C port, so you can connect almost anything else to it and it'll work. I have tried thumb drives, mice and others. I have yet to test a USB C hub, but will attempt it in the future to see if the screen can be extended or cloned to an external display.
Another thing to note is that this tablet, like the Tab S4 before it, can launch into DEX mode. I like this because it allows me to have more flexiblilty when it comes to using this tablet more similarly to a laptop, but do not mistake this mode for a laptop replacement. Because no matter how hard I try, I cannot get any of the web browsers to behave like a desktop-grade one. Yes, you heard me, that means that if there is anything flash-based that needs to play in-browser it will not work. Mind you, this is not a deal breaker for me, just a gripe, so just know that this is not a chromebook in disguise. I really hope Samsung updates DEX to behave more like Chrome OS or at the very least have a seperate Samsung Internet Browser for DEX that behaves like a desktop net browser.
Playing games on this with touchscreen controls can get super awkward super quickly, I would highly recommend a controller. Minecraft works like a treat on the larger screen and PUBG is playable. Obviously some of the simpler games can work on this, but don't expect console-grade performance from it. Thankfully Samsung doesn't try to market this tablet this way, unlike a certain Fruit-based company.
Overall, I think this is an underrated tablet and Samsung needs to step up their marketing game with this. The fact that I have seen so few commercials for it and the fact that the only major tech youtuber that has had a sneak peak of it was Super Saf, I find it kinda shocking that Samsung doesn't seem to have too much faith in this thing. Sure, the main limitation is the fact that it's a tablet, but any of the shortcomings can VERY easily be fixed in software.

Like a giant S10+

Android tablets have come along way since my first tablet, the Motorola Xoom. This tablet feels very minimal and sleek. Currently running Android Pie I believe. Setting up seemed about same vs a phone.
The newest hardware has no buttons on the face, making it look like a giant S10+. The big draw for this tablet is smaller size and price. I'm glad I waited for the S5e over the S4. The spen is nice but not for an extra $100+
I've played music, movies and games on this tablet and has performed great. Also paired some BT devices like headphones, speakers and keyboards with no issues. Really like to multitask with this tablet: play some games on my PC while I stream a movie or music. Also bought an app called Pulse that sends texts from phone to my tablet.
The bad: as with tablets, always seems like Android software struggle with apps that only show a Black screen.

I've only had this tablet for a short while, but I have used it extensively.
I got it because the one I had was smaller (7") and way slower. This one is a much larger, much sharper-image tablet. It has all the features most tablets have, but it also has some other features that non-Android tablets don't.
My favorite thing is a slot for a micro-SD card so that you can expand the storage up to 512 gigs depending upon how much you want to spend for storage.
I don't know if I will really need a lot of extra storage as it comes with 64 gigs of storage, and I added a 64-gig chip giving me 128 gigs. You can also get one with 128 gigs.
I use it to stream videos like You Tube and recorded TV shows and movies from my Tablo recorder with a sharp and vivid display. I have fast wi-fi, 5G, so I don't have to suffer pauses or loading on my end because it has 4 gigs of RAM.
Recharging is fast with a fast charger, obviously, so you don't have to wait long get back on the tablet to work.
The camera takes sharp photos, but I probably won't use it because due to its size, it is awkward to use. You would be better off using your smartphone for photos.
I don't know if I will encounter problems with it after I've lived with it for awhile, but right now, I have no problems other than the awkward camera use.
It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for, so expect to pay quite a bit especially if you opt for extra bells and whistles.

I bought the tab s4 last year and returned it twice. It had screen banding issues on both tablets made it awful to watch videos In the dark/night..This time around Samsung got it right and being 200$ cheaper! This tablet feels pretty premium for the price and super thin. I’ve had a lot of apps running in back ground and didn’t notice any lag of slowing. The screen is superb and no screen banding. The speaker are loud and crisp! I mainly use this for watching movies and YouTube. Don’t see the point of playing games on tablets. That’s what my Xbox one x is for.lol you can’t go wrong with this purchase. Only thing is the official Samsung case is expensive it’s ridiculous.. other then the case this is a win!
