Its pretty good i have a surface and the keyboards are comparable, giving it 5 stars. There is a very small lag when using the touch pad, i wish i could give it a 4.7 but rounding it up brings it to a 5. The backlit feature is pretty sweet. Good job Samsung

its an awesome cover for my device and i love the keyboard but not enough for the price.

Been using the keyboard for a few days. Haven't used a tablet physical keyboard before for reference. Honestly a little frustrated with keyboard due to a bunch of small issues that just pile up into a frustrating experience. Not sure if there are fixes that I missed for these or if i'm just being nitpicky :) but here we go: Dragging and selecting text - Can't drag and select text with trackpad in most places. The device prioritizes the cursor as just a glorified touch input, so it thinks you are just trying to swipe across the screen usually. Works in some places like Samsung Notes and certain input fields (URL bars/Search bars). But even in a place like Samsung Notes where it works, its still not completely fluid. It doesn't select exactly what you want sometimes. Literally the textbox in the bestbuy web browser that I'm typing this review in it doesn't work properly. Doesn't feel like a first party accessory because of things like this. Keyboard not really usable on uneven surfaces - Using keyboard on the slightest of uneven surfaces is unusable because of how flimsy it is. Resting wrist on empty sides next to trackpad will trigger a press on the mouse very easily. This isn't really a problem though as it was designed to be used on like a table, but figured it was worth to note. - Unplugging or plugging in keyboard will make some apps reload. - Typing -> Trackpad delay - There is a delay between when i stop typing and when im allowed to move the mouse around causing a very frustrating experience. This is the worst problem so far, makes me not want to use the keyboard at all. - Arrow keys/Spacebar media control: Using arrow keys/spacebar on videos in some apps doesn't work (like crunchyroll/twitch vods). Works on youtube at least. - Trackpad input issues: The corners of the trackpad don't register touch inputs as well. If i try scrolling through a page with 2 fingers, and my fingers aren't in the dead center of the trackpad it will not behave well at all. I have accidently minimized all apps a lot due to this issue. - Adding to the previous point, scrolling in general is a little funky. Assuming i'm in the dead center of the trackpad: Let's say I'm scrolling down on a page, when i lift up my fingers to finish scrolling down, it will register my fingers as swiping up slightly, so the scroll will stop moving down and actually move up a tiny bit. I feel like this doesn't happen on any laptop trackpads I use. - Cannot switch Trackpad Scrolling Direction as switching this setting will cause ALL gestures with the trackpad to be reversed instea of just the scrolling, causing confusions when doing anything else. This seems like just an oversight by the developers. - Arrow keys: They're extremely small. Idk this might not be a problem for some people, i just personally don't like small arrow keys like these lol Dex mode specific issues: - When i do a search for an app in Dex mode, pressing Enter should open up the only app shown/first app shown. I have to move my mouse to select the app, which as described in the previous point is very frustrating because of the delay. - The X button at the top of every app is very inconsistent. Sometimes it closes the app and when you open it up again it will act as if the app was completely closed and will have to start it up again. Sometimes it just minimizes it and the audio continues to play and when you open it up again it continues exactly where you left off. ---------------- As for positives, there really isn't anything this keyboard does that others don't, except for the fact that it plugs into the tab s8 ultra. Which might be enough reason for most people to get it I guess. My problem is that all I want is for the keyboard/trackpad to function like a normal keyboard/trackpad, which it doesn't. It feels incomplete, which is a shame since this is a first party accessory being sold at a premium price. The support should be there. The good thing is a lot of these issues are software issues, which means it could technically be patched, but who knows if/when that will happen. But if it does, will be happy to update my rating. All this needs to do to be a 5 star is to work like a normal keyboard/trackpad and get the proper first party support it deserves, but sadly it feels like a buggy mess right now.

Okay cover. A bit flimsy but it was to be expected. The magnetism seems to be weakening for the pen cover and the stand seems t also be weakening. If you plan on using your tablet a lot be mindful of how you handle this. Especially for the keyboard as it tends to have sticky keys.

im writing the review on this tablet. i didn't know how much of a laptop killer it was until now. i dont remember the last time i used my laptop. its that good. I use it to manage my law office and take it to court everyday. but you need the bookcover keyboard -shouldnt be an option. also holds the pen perfectly. best tablet on the market.

It’s a qualified “yes”. The kick stand in the back is a little difficult to open unless you remember to do it from the bottom, not the side. And it’s a little wobbly. Also the trackpad is overly sensitive and jumpy. As a tablet cover, though it’s nice and not too thick and heavy. And there aren’t a lot of good alternatives out there even if this is a bit expensive for what you are getting.
