    known problem not fixed, overrated battery

    First of all this would have been a great watch had Samsung fixed some know problems. The floors climbed on this watch is horrible at best. Today I put my Garmin watch and Galaxy Watch on and after several flights up and down the steps the Garmin showed 9 floors (I had done 12), The Galaxy Watch showed none. To see if it worked at all I climbed the steps and raised my hand over my head and the Galaxy watch counted one floor. My other big problem is with the battery life. I have the 46mm LTE (but no data plan set up) and get one day before needing to charge the watch. After 24 hours I will have a battery percentage in the single digits. I might be able to squeeze a little over 24 hours but never over 30. I have not done any exercise that I would use the GPS on nor have I been using apps or music. The phone is billed as unlocked but it will not work on ATT. In fairness it does say in the product description that it only works on T-Mobiles network but I didn't see that until after I ordered it. I really wanted this watch to work and really do love the watch other than the three problems listed. Those are some major problems though considering my Garmin Vivoactive HR does everything that I used the Galaxy Watch to do and I right at a week on a battery charge. I called Samsung today and was told by the customer service tech to reset the phone, which I did, and if that didn't work to bring the phone back to Best Buy to get a refund or exchange. The tech was very nice but he reported that he had not heard of the floor or battery problem and that my phone must have a problem with it. He may not have heard about it but there were many complaints about it on the Samsung Community board on Samsungs websight.

    This is my third watch. First one was a Frontier that the outside bezel was breaking down. Second was a LTE Verizon that the battery could not hold a charge for more than 20 hours. Now finally third watch is a charm. Holds a charge for three days. I recommend to back up your old watch if you have a Samsung account. One problem was I lost all of my Verizon Assurion insurance on all of my Verizon equipment when the Best Buy store activated my watch, which covered lost or stolen. The geek squad covers the watch problem, so best to have both insurances no deductible with geek but does not cover for lost or stolen. I use it for my sleep monitoring, walking and my local weather reports. My blu tooth seems to loose my connection to my Note 8, has a limited connection distances goes to a wifi. I only made one outgoing call with the watch, by not being connected to my Note 8.

    I purchased the Galaxy Watch w/LTE intending to augment my Pixel 3 XL phone. The watch is very much to my liking, and it does a great job with battery management. My old Gear S3 would be down to 70% battery available after one day's use, while the Galaxy Watch is showing 90% available in the same time frame. That's really decent. I purchased the LTE variant expecting to number-share it with my Pixel 3XL phone. Only after receiving it, I came to find that the two can't be number-shared - according to Verizon.. So, i'm using the Galaxy Watch with a Bluetooth connection to my phone. And it works great! I can initiate text messages on the watch, answer phone calls, and get all my notifications. It is disappointing that I can't use the LTE functions, especially since at least 6 calls to Samsung says that I should be able to do so. But, Verizon insists that it isn't possible to do so. I've rated the watch 5-stars because I think it's an outstanding watch. Still, I'm hoping that one day Verizon and Samsung and Google will all learn to play better together.

    I have been enjoying the watch since taking delivery of it. The watch is superior to a similar watch from LG. The cost of LG Watch Sport Unlocked GSM (Silver/Titan) [Wireless is almost twice that of the Galaxy. I paid $650 for the LG Watch while Samsung - Galaxy Watch Smartwatch 46mm Stainless Steel LTE cost me $369.99. The LG smart watch was returned because of poor battery. A full charge cannot last for a full day while Galaxy battery fully charged lasts for 4 days plus depending on usage. I have tested and used all its features. Every aspect of the watch is working as shown on its specification. It pairs and syncs easily with my Galaxy S8+. Its Samsung Health feature works as if its monitoring ones health by reminding me how long I have been sitting down. So far so good, I have no regrets for returning the LG watch to buy the Galaxy. The Galaxy smart watch is a great watch to use.

    The watch is beautiful. I have used this to speak on the phone when my phone was not with me and it works great. Calls are clear and people don't seem to have issues hearing me. Be sure to use the new Galaxy Wearable app instead of the old one. I had some issues initially of losing connection to my phone when connecting my phone to Android Auto which caused battery issues, but Samsung seems to have addressed this since the issue has not occurred in the last month. The biggest issue I have with this watch is the strap. I broke out in a rash wearing this strap. I have worn other silicon straps on other watches like the FitBit watches and have never broken out in a rash before. I purchased two Milanese loop strap watch from Amazon (one black and one silver since look good with the watch's two tone color).

    Watch does most of the advertised tasks well, tracks workouts fairly well automatically including running and playing sports like tennis or soccer. Call clarity is very good, nobody can even tell i'm calling them on the watch vs handset. The speaker is a little tinny but that's expected on a small device I suppose. I'm with AT&T and the number sync has worked consistently when I'm away from my phone. Battery life Seems to me to cap out at a couple of days with regular use. The advertised 6-7 days must be just for people using it solely as a timepiece. It charges in a couple hours so this isn't a huge deal. I usually just charge it a bit when I shower or when I'll be on the computer for a while.

    I bought this watch a couple months ago when it was first available. I had to return it because T-Mobile was the only carrier who supported the watch at the time. Now that all the major carriers support it, I decided to give it a try. For those with AT&T be sure to go into the store because you will need a QR code that is not provided by Samsung or Best Buy in order for this to be activated to your mobile plan. More info can be found by googling Galaxy Watch Activation. The longest part was getting the line added to the plan. The actual activation of the watch itself is a breeze.

    This is my 2nd one of these. I originally wanted the LTE version, but BB didn't have them in stock. When they got them, I upgraded. Activating on ATT was kind of a pain, because I had to go to an ATT store for them to give me an eSIM card to take a picture of with the Samsung app. After that it was smooth. When the watch is out of range of the paired phone it'll seamlessly switch to LTE. It's great being able to stay in touch and get notifications if I don't have my phone with me. Otherwise the watch works great. I tried a Wear OS watch and preferred Samsung Tizen. Much smoother and more efficient.

    The device is unlocked. However, T-Mobile is the only carrier that currently supports the activation of this particular watch, so I can understand the confusion. Once the other carriers support it, it will be able to be activated with them and I'm sure the description will be updated on this page. Best to wait until your carrier announces they will be carrying this watch before buying it. Otherwise, just use it with Bluetooth until your carrier opens up the compatibility. Other than that, I get at least 3 days of battery and the watch charges super fast.

    Purchased this for the phone. Was tired of lugging the Note 8 everywhere, but needed to be connected to clients. Paired with my Plantronics BT headset, the untethered life without a phone is a game changer. When you think about what we're asking this watch to do with a battery the size of a nickel... BT, Data, GPS, stream music... It lasts easily a full day with many long client calls, 5 mile walks, Google maps turn by turn, etc., If course it does a million other things with every app you'll need readily available. I don't care if I have to charge it each night. This thing is powerful tool for business.

    I bought this watch as a upgrade to my galaxy sport. This watch is very durable and much better made. I use it to take phone calls, listen to music and read/reply to text messages. I swim a few times a week, a nice feature is it literally spits out the water when you finish swim mode. the battery lasts a few days. I bought the 46mm for the bigger screen, the dial is the size of my whole wrist. I only gave it 4 stars because I have not hooked it up to. y cellular provider yet and the rating won't let me give it 4.5 stars. Overall I am very pleased with my watch.

    This is the first time I have bought a smart watch. I sought something that was attractive and functional, and that could be used as a signalling device in case of a fall, since I live alone and am getting on in years. I did not want one of those expensive one-function subscription-based devices for invalids. I like the look of this watch and its email alerts. I am particularly pleased with the health monitoring features, which really have encouraged me to get out and about, as well as the weather app. All around, it is far more than I expected, and I would highly recommend it.

    The product description says in big letters that the device is UNLOCKED. But then you try to hook it up to your phone and you find out unlocked is not what you think it is. You have to scroll all the way down to see that in the language of Best Buy, unlocked means you can only use it on T-Mobile, the smallest service provider in America. Some say that maybe you should just buy it and wait for your provider to support it, and just use it with wifi or Bluetooth. The problem with that is that Verizon does not assure you that they will EVER be able to support the model currently being sold as they are a CDMA network. VERY MISLEADING.

    I've been very happy with the purchase of my Samsung - Galaxy Watch Smartwatch 46mm LTE. Before I purchased it I wasn't sure how much I would actually utilize it, especially since I stopped wearing a watch years ago. I've found myself using it significantly more than I even thought that I would. The watch has incredible voice clarity when used for calls as the person I'm talking to can never tell the difference between the watch and phone. I'm definitely glad that I made the purchase!

    Bought this watch in September. Waited for Verizon to support it. After trying to activate it twice and spending hours on the phone with Verizon tier 2 support I decided to deactivate it. Last night I received an new TIZEN update. Tried again just using the Galaxy Gear app. It worked! The update fixed the bug of not being able to activate. So this watch is truly unlocked. Hope this helps.

    Its a great device to see notifications without using your phone every time. LTE streams spotify for my outdoor sessions and keep my texts coming in even though my phone is at home. Sprint has not released voice over LTE yet so no calls can be made from it. I have a Note 8 so it has great compatibility talking to to the watch. I feel its a typo on the "Only activates on T-Mobile" in the product description. My phones gear app activated it thru sprint for me. Took only 5 minutes to do so.

    I looked at different watches and kept coming back to this one. I like the round look like a normal watch. I did change the band to a stainless steel band and it looks great. The only issue that have found is that seems like before i got the watch my note 9 battery was lasting longer. But other than that no issues.

    How Would You Know??

    I purchased this beautiful watch in Pre-Order and received it on Aug 24. It is beautiful, but neither email nor SMS notifications are available on the Watch unless you are using a Samsung Smartphone. How would you know this, since it is not documented anywhere on the Box, the Website, nor in the Stores?? This makes zero sense - a beautiful Samsung smartwatch that doesn't fully work with the two major Smartphone Operating Systems? Something has to be wrong here!!

    First off, I love the watch. Two issues with it. The current apps are crap. Hoping Samsung will bring them up to par. Second, activating the LTE option doubled my monthly bill. And a timesaver tip: T-mobile's ONE plus plan is your best option. Trust me. I spent hours researching AND went in person to both stores trying to find some way to lessen the expense. But, other than that, I do love the watch.

    My opinion, this watch is the best one made from Samsung!! Looks great and feels great!! I'll seen review where customers may think this watch is impossible to set up with their carrier!! Took t mobile and their whole support team, TWO HOURS to get the watch running on their network!! Other customers who stated the watch couldn't be set up, ARE YOU SURE, YOUR CARRIER DIDN'T GIVEN UP ON THEIR END!! The watch states UNLOCKED!!
