Great smart watch, enjoying using it so far. Definitely one of the best Wear OS ones you can get. Battery lasts about a day and a half and charges back up quick as well. Screen is large and bright even outdoors!

I've grown to love this Samsung Galaxy 5 watch. I'm an active person. I run and lift daily and bike ride some days too. As such, I've had a different watch for the past few years that does GPS, counts calories, steps, etc.. I have a Heart Rate Monitor (strap) that goes with it that gives me incredible insight into my runs. I share this because much of why I got this watch was to see about replacing my old watch. I also wanted to test some of the additional features the Galaxy 5 offers, like Sleep Analysis. THE GOOD ~ Charges quickly ~ Can take phone calls & receive/send texts (even though I have only the Bluetooth version) ~ Many apps available ~ Choice of watch faces ~ lightweight ~ Perfect size for me ~ Easy to set up ~ Ease of use ~ Cool apps like Sleep monitor and Stress Level THE BAD ~ Battery only lasts about 2 days ~ Phone seems to drain much faster now ~ Some apps don't work (or don't work well) like Body Composition THE MEH (Could go either way) ~ The strap is odd because the excess tab is tucked under (see pic) ~ Battery only lasts about 2 days ~ Charger requires a USB-C port (instead of a normal USB like on a car charger) ~ The auto brightness doesn't seem to work too well for me OVERALL I like the watch a lot. When I first put it on my wrist, I wasn't sure if I would want to keep it on. It felt so different from my other watch. There are a lot of holes to adjust, but it takes a couple tries to figure out which hole works best, because after you have the latch in the hole, you have to tuck the end of the band inside against your wrist. So, it gets a little tight. Setting up the watch was easy. It has a great display. It's very crisp with beautiful, vibrant colors. Although the battery only lasts about 2 days, it charges very quickly. I think about 30-45 minutes will take it from 20% to full. I do wish it would last longer, but it falls within the specs Samsung promised. On the runs and bike rides I have taken with it, the mileage comes up a little shorter than my other watch. Determining which one is isn't so easy because a 9 mile trail run showed about 8.9 miles. A 15 mile bike ride showed 14.84 miles. Yes, I used both watches at the same time. While this is minimal disparity, the calculation of calories burned between the two watches is very different. For biking and running, the calories are far less than on the other watch. Where weightlifting is concerned, the Galaxy is more generous with the calories burned. Some of the apps I wanted to use, like the body composition, simply will not work. It continually gets to about 80% and then stops and tells me to try again. After about 10 tries, I gave up. The sleep app is cool. I have sleep issues and wake up a lot every night. This actually seems to show those awakenings as well as REM, Light and Deep sleep. That's probably one of my favorite things. Just comparing that to how I feel in the morning. It seems accurate enough to me. It's advised that you pair this with a Samsung phone. I haven't tried it with anything else, but so far, everything has been seamless between talk/text and even just pushing a button to open specific apps on my phone to see it larger or get more insight. WOULD I RECOMMEND? I would. I would definitely recommend it to those with a Samsung phone wanting a smart watch, especially if they are interested in the activity apps. There are many sports the watch will follow. You can also download something like Strava and use it.

I have owned a few smart watches before the original Moto 360, pebbles, Garmin instinct This felt like a complete smartwatch, as I am able to do most of the running / workout / treadmill function on this. Also have been hiking on this and at decent tracking for that. I cycle on city trails and out of city trails which has worked wonderfully for me. I work in an office in runnement and has made me pull out my phone less compared to before as I can dismiss most notification from my watch because of wearOS.

I like it but there's not a lot of apps that work with it. The battery can be better And when it rains and it gets water on the face it's really hard to work with. Also just trying to download apps is pretty much crazy the impossible. One other thing I find that when I'm listening to music it doesn't work properly on the cut pause and play Button

I was late to the game when it comes to smart watches but after I got it, i immediately realized that I should have bought one earlier. Although it's large, it's very comfortable to wear and has so many ways to customize it.

upgraded from an original galaxy watch. I love the new design but not so mutch the function of the watch. Biggest complaint is i went from charging my watch 2 times a week to needing to charge it every night. The battery life is a huge downgrade, which has let me down because everything else on the watch is very nice

This watch really packs a punch with the amount of features, and I must say in my short time of using it, I have been overwhelmingly impressed. The AMOLED screen is crisp and bright, and the glass is proving to be very durable. The watch is a bit on the larger side, but it’s worth it with all the features that are packed into this watch; and it makes the display so much nicer. Initial set up was easy and it connected with my android phone without any problems. The only slight annoyances I had with the initial set up was that multiple apps were required to be installed on my phone in order to utilize all the watch features, and for some reason I wasn’t able to download additional watch faces within the Galaxy Wearable app (this issue later was later resolved). When checking out the features of the watch, I quickly learned that in order to use the health features, an additional app (Samsung Health) was required in addition to the apps required for using the watch. (A minor nuisance, but still annoying.) I was impressed with all the watch face options and the ability to personalize each face to your preferred liking. Navigation within the watch itself was simple to figure out as well. The watch provides instructions upon initial use, and I found myself picking it up very quickly without the prompts. The amount of personalization that can be made with the watch face, button use, and navigation really allows each user to make the watch work best for them. As for daily use, the watch worked perfectly for every feature I utilized it for. I used it to track steps, heart rate, battery life, and the weather, in addition to utilizing the health features for tracking sleep quality, and the exercise features to track my runs. I also allowed for text notifications to come through, and I never missed a single call or text while wearing the watch. (I even took a couple phone calls through the watch and was surprised by how well the speaker and microphone worked. The sound isn’t super great but decent.) The battery life of the watch proved to be pretty good considering my amount of use. I consistently got nearly two full days of use, without even using the battery saving mode. The GPS also proved to be an accurately functioning feature as well. I compared it against an app I use on my phone and both tracked the same. I even ran a route I know the exact distances of without my phone, to make sure that the watch was truly tracking the route accurately on its own, and it did. The sleep tracking feature of the watch might be one of my favorite features (so far). I thoroughly enjoyed that the sleep tracking includes a snore detection function, in which it will track the length of snoring and record clips of it on your phone. In addition, I like that it shows you the full breakdown of your sleep and provides you with an overall score. Overall, I could go on and on about the features of this watch, more than I already have. The amount of options and features is truly impressive. The performance is excellent and the AMOLED screen is fantastic. Typically, I would be hesitant to purchase this type of technology at this price point, but after using this all week I can honestly say it is worth it. PROs -AMOLED display & Sapphire Crystal Glass -Touch sensitivity -Robust build -Vast features -Endless personalization options -Quick and reliable performance -Battery life CONs (Really more annoyances than cons) -Requires multiple phone apps for full use -Plug in for wall outlet not included with charger
