Customers frequently mention the large screen size and its suitability for multitasking as major pros of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 256GB (Verizon). However, many comment on the battery life and camera quality needing improvement. The phone's weight is also a recurring concern for some users. A few users also noted the screen crease and lack of a headphone jack as drawbacks.

I could write a novel about how truly awesome and stunning this Z Fold 3 is, but I will try to contain my excitement and condense my thoughts into a brief review. Samsung has seriously proven that innovation is possible and the future of phones is here now. The 7.6" OLED 120Hz internal display still features softer glass, so you do still need to use care. But they have improved the durability of the entire device across the board- most notably the hinge design. The outer 6.2" OLED 120Hz display is a bit more narrow than other displays, but after a little while I adjusted to texting on it just fine. A huge selling point for me is the level of actual multitasking you can accomplish with the large internal display. Being able to chat in my tech forums while watching videos on Youtube without needing to always change over to my iPad Pro is pure bliss. Games in xCloud (Game Pass) look fantastic on the OLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate. While I wouldn't label this a criticism necessarily, I will say the only way it could be a more perfect device is if Samsung somehow innovated the battery tech and gave us tons more usage time on moderate power settings. But nevertheless, this phone is by far the most impressive piece of technology I have ever purchased.

It a great phone. I love the way I can use this as a tablet also.
The camera is wonderful. I use it all the time. The zoom is such a godsen. I used it all the time at the grand canyon.
It does get hot at times. So I went into Best Buy and the Samsung tech helped me understand what I was doing wrong. He also invited me back if I had any more questions. He made me feel as if I just needed alittle help, explained my problem and djdn't make me feel dumb like the Verizon personn did.
Thanks Best Buy.

I Don't Think I Can Go Back To A Normal Phone

It's either you love this phone, or you're skeptical, but after using this for a few days, I don't think I can go back to a normal phone.
Displays:
The cover screen is skinnier than most normal phones. This reminds me of the old iPhone 5 that was made taller but not wider to keep it simple for one handed use. The skinnier display isn't always ideal, but it is great for one handed use.
The main (inside) display is stunning. You truly get the feeling of having a tablet that fits in your pocket. The apps that are optimized are a joy to use, and the rest of the apps can be resized to take advantage of the full screen real estate. Multitasking in split screen finally doesn't feel congested. The crease in the middle of the display also isn't noticable in most settings (especially if you use your phone in landscape). The only time I notice it is in direct harsh sunlight.
Design:
This phone is beautifully designed. I love the matte black look on the back this time around as opposed to the glossy glass that attracts finger prints and oil. The size hasn't been an issue for me. I wear slim fit jeans, and I haven't had an issue putting this into my pocket comfortably even with a case on.
Specs:
The Fold3 has most of the specs you'd expect from a top end flashship phone. You have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, 120hz display on both screens, and 5G. The camera on the phone is great, but i know isn't the best Samsung has to offer (as seen on the S21 Ultra), and the battery could have been better. The phone can last most days on a single charge, but my previous Note 10+ always left me with roughly 20% battery at the end of the day.
Things I'd like to see in the next generation is a bigger battery, expandable storage, and an S Pen that inserts into the phone like the Note.

I love this phone, but I also acknowledge the down sides.
First the positives. THE HIGE SCREEN when unfolded. This is a game changer and this is why I got the phone. I find that I am more willing to do things on my phone that I would not have done on my previous phone with a 5.7" screen. Mostly things that involved looking at pages that requires more interaction (looking up information and imputing text/data versus just scrolling down a page and looking at images). I also am more willing to watch full length videos on the phone (versus just short gif images). It feels solid and well built in the hand. I don't feel like I am going to break it just holding it. I have already dropped it a couple of times and it is holding up great. I can talk more about the screen but there are plenty of review videos that go into much more detail than I can on this review. The speakers and loud and have good sound quality. The software is very customizable and use the big screen in innovative and useful ways (mostly involving split screen functionality).
The downsides. The phone is bulky. Especially with a good protective case (which I need - see above about dropping it) and a credit card holder attached. Still fits in my front pocket (slacks not jeans) but barely. The phone is noticeably heavier (especially with case) than my previous. The camera is great but it is not the best camera that Samsung uses for its phones. This is not important for me because I do not take a lot of pictures but may be an issue if this is important to you. The battery is smaller than in some other flagship phones (even the Fold 2) but this is not an issue for me for a reason I did not expect. I don't actually use the big screen as much as I though I would. I actually use the front screen for 90% of everything I do. The front screen is smaller than on my previous phone, but it is big enough to do most of what I need to do (email, text, browse social media, watch videos). The screen is tight, but I know that I have small hands so people with bigger hands may find the front screen too small to text/type comfortably.
I have not had a chance to use the s-pen, but I look forward to getting one as I used it a lot with my old Samsung Note phone.
Like I said, I don't open my phone and use the big screen as much as I thought i would. But just the fact that I COULD if I wanted to is a huge point of satisfaction!

the screens really do look nice, going from my note to this was not bad. i have used the small screen more than i thought i would. and the outside screen is a really odd size and so texting on that is not great. I have big hands so opening it up and using it that way is preferred but kind of a hassle sometimes.
This has no plugs... i miss having a headphone jack and a micro sd card slot. i dont understand why all new high end devices has to remove regular things like this from devices. I cant give it 5 stars when it does these things.
The thickness is something to get used to. It also feels way more present in my pocket. in some pants its not even comfortable and that is a bummer. So for how big the screen is and how nice it is to use when open it is like walking around with a tablet.
The last point is the crease in the middle it is very present when there is reflective light around. If you have a dark background or something up that is dark it really shows and i hope future versions do a better job with that.
Everything else on this phone is amazing, Camera awesome! processor is fast, and a good amount of ram. its a powerful device so thats no problem. The form factor is best suited for someone that does not keep their phone in their pocket in my opinion.

I enjoyed this purchase tremendously! I wanted the fold instead of options offered due to the ability having the versatility between small screen and larger screen. At times it feels like i two different devices which means it doesnt get old. I worried if the larger screen layout would be hard to hold but it is quite comfortable and manageable. I enjoy the options to view to separate things on the larger things.. i have nothing but good things to report!

It's a good phone but a lot of the apps resize themselves when you open it up to the full screen and it cuts off portions of the apps, this is particularly annoying on social media when I'm trying to watch a video. And then just before the year mark of having the phone had three different spots where the pixels died and a noticeable crack down the middle of the phone that doesn't really affect anything but is very annoying to have a crack down the middle of your screen. I also notice around that same time that the corner where I touch most of the time to do my scrolling started getting scratched right there and I've had other phones that I've had for literally years and never had the screen do that. I figured out pretty quick that I am not a fan of Samsung phones anymore. They're original phones were great back in the day, but the way things are laid out on the smartphones it's just not for me. I also don't like when you're typing things in that it will change an entire word even though it's spelled correctly because it thinks it knows what you want to say more than you do. That is incredibly annoying! So all in all I've had the phone about a year and a half now and it does still work but it's time to move on because now on top of everything else the inside screen is starting to have issues with touch response. I understand that in this disposable world we live in most people are getting new phones every year or so but I usually have a phone for at least two to three years before I even need to think about replacing it and that is why this phone got such a low rating from me because it didn't even make it to the year mark before it started having issues.

I almost bought the S21 ultra instead of the fold 3. But so far I am Happy with my choice. Watching the videos on YouTube about it doesn't do it justice. Once you open the phone up you will realize why this phone is so hyped up. The front screen is a little small and a little hard to text on and it's kind of heavy when your trying to record for a few minutes. It also has a not so good battery life but it is what it is. But the experience of the phone when you open it just wow.

Absolutely great phone. It does lack a powerful battery and camera can be a lot better. S21 ultra spoiled me, I guess. I will update to the future ZFOLD if camera is enhanced, battery is bigger, and if they can somehow slim it down with the upgrades. I do like the fold technology. I think its very innovative. Miss the camera on the ultra but screen wise, the fold can't be beat.

The Fold 3 is amazing. I am a real estate agent, so the thought of being able to sign a document on the go, & read contracts on the large display is fantastic. Have been able to replace bringing my iPad with me to measure homes & make Floorplans, that has been amazing. I was also in need to a new laptop to cast to a large screen display in my office. I decided to give DEX a go at that & it works well enough that I'm not going to buy a new computer for that purpose now. So, all in all, its a productivity monster.
Now the shortcomings, and there are only a few, but they matter. I bought the Samsung case that comes with the Fold edition s-pen as i wanted the pen. It only works on the inner large display, & thats a huge disappointment as 85% of what i do, & i suspect anyone does is with the front screen. Secondly, & this ties into the lack of s-pen usage on the front screen, the front screen is really thin & it makes typing texts & emails hard. I hit the wrong keys all the time being its so cramped. If the s-pen would have worked i could use that tiny tip to swipe type. Its a difficult choice to decide if i should stay with this or go with the S21 Ultra. The next few days will tell. If you're ok with a thin screen & no s-pen on the front screen, then this phone is incredible & credit to samsung for going out on a limb & pushing new technology.

The Z Fold 3 is a great phone. The camera is so awesome and it looks amazing. The speed is superb. It fits in my hand(s) so well, that no matter how its held, i know its not going anywhere. Playing my android games and watching a high definition movie on the Z fold is now one of my favorite things to do now. I cannot leave without mentioning the battery life. You would think that a screen this size and your everyday need of this device, you would have to charge mid-day. Nope! This baby will exceed way over 24 hours before a charge is needed.

Love the phone, wish battery life was better. But im getting a full day of battery life. Camera is okay. I mostly use phone for business and personal. But i do love the bigger screen. I did pre-order this phone. Only thing i have to say is bestbuy was not ready for this product. They didn't have a clue on the pre-orders on how to do the transaction.
