I love this camera! I've used it on football games (yes, in the middle of the field) and on wedding receptions, and friends just love it when viewed using their mobile phones. I partnered this with a Vanguard VEO AM-264TR Aluminum Monopod to make it stable.

Keep in mind this is a 360 camera and pics and videos will get stiched, thus will loose some resolution. Camera is great, pics and vids have great resolution. The files take more space but you only need to take one picture to tell the entire story. Do not count on this camera to take pics or vids on the fly, everything takes time. Also keep it in the bag or buy a case, otherwise if you throw it inside your back pack the camera may easily get turn on as the power button is very sensitive. I have been using to record trips and bike rides and it works great.

Truly a great product. Samsung got it right with this camera. The price was exactly within my price range. The use of the camera has been very easy and intuitive. I enjoy the ability to go from panoramic to 360 degree to regular photos with the same camera, not to mention the quality is great. There are issues with the stitching and the stand being visible in the picture, which can be fixed with editing software. The possibilities with this camera are endless. The camera would be even better if it were able to do live 360 broadcasting. If you are looking for an entry level 360 camera at a reasonable price, then the Gear 360 is the camera for you.

The device is a little sphere with a flat bottom, which can rest on most surfaces or on its own small tripod. (I think is really very small tripod, don’t like it so much) The camera is a little smaller than a tennis ball and weighs only 153 grams.
It have a small display at the top of the camera will let you know what video mode you’re currently shooting, including time lapse, video looping, photo, and video.
The Gear 360 don’t have internal storage, but supports MicroSD cards up to 128GB in capacity, you can download the videos/images over WIFI directly in your smartphone with the app.
I have a "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge" and I can to see a preview in real time the footage on my screen and I can share content directly to 360 video-compatible services like YouTube or Facebook.
One of the things that I Love of Gear 360 is with my S6 can shrink the video down to a more share-friendly size and act as the camera’s remote.

This is a perfect camera to make 360 video. Software coming with it allow you to make it available on Youtube in 360 mode, allowing your friends to view and use the video easily. in low light you may not be happy but this is not the right condition to make 360 video. I will recommend this item with no reserve. The only thing Samsung should improve is the carrying case.. there is none.. just a bag

My first adventure into the 360 degree camera arena. Still finding my way around the device and recording videos. What I done as far looks great on the computer. Videos and pictures look very high definition.

If you are new to the 360 world, this camera is okay. I would have preferred a better resolution. I played around with the resolution settings but could not get a real sharp video. The pictures are better than the video resolution. For fun, I guess its okay but the videos are a bit blurred on the VR Gear.

This camera does an excellent job capturing 360 pictures that are compatible with streetview, VR and etc.
However, the compatibility with non-Samsung devices is really limited.
As an iOS user I can only use the Google Street View app to connect with it to take 360 pictures. All other functionalities are not enabled.
I have not tried the PC software yet. If I can take pics and vids without connecting to my cell and then freely view and edit them on PC, I would probably come back to give a 4 star instead of 3.

This is one of the best cameras I've purchased in a long time. I like that you can turn off the back camera while recording video and use just the front camera.
Only con is that this camera is only comparable with Samsung phones...

Quality of images and videos are great. The stitching process is kind of long and doesn't get it right the first time. Paring is easy if you have the right phone for it (galaxy s7 and higher) gs7edge 1440p resolution on gear vr isn't the best for image/video quality either. Really had high hopes for this camera. Maybe galaxy 8 will have 4k display witch may enhance the image quality on gear vr.

This is 4k 360 in its infancy. 8k and subsequently 16k will be phenomenal for this technology in a decade.
Its a very fun all direction capture device
Single lens image pictures are clear
Dual Lens pictures appear as a bubble or panoramic
Very poor low light quality
360 video is clear towards the center and more out of focus at the edges when viewing about much like peripheral vision (very acceptable quality).
There's no optical zoom, but you get a digital zoom post processing. It looks best with the aspect view zoomed entirely out because of graininess.

Given the limited choices currently, I think the Gear 360 is worthwhile. But Samsung sure doesn't make it easy on a person. Officially only supported on certain Samsung devices, but can be circumvented with a little googling. I was using it without a phone and making use of the included software to stitch the pics / vids on my Windows PC. Battery life is short, so consider buying a few extra batteries. Other than that, it works as expected.

The 360 is one of those innovative products that does what it designed to do. Take great 360 pictures. Easy to use. Editing is a little trickey however.

This camera works very nicely for its intended purpose. As I have not previously spent any time working in 360 photography I cannot compare the image quality to anything else. But I find it quite adequate for my professional real estate photography purposes.
I was introduced to this camera by going out on a photo shoot with a knowledgeable assistant who already knew how to use this setup. Just by watching him I was able to quickly figure out how to work this thing and get fully stitched photos and video on the far end, using the Samsung phone. Quick learning curve.
