Best SmartWatch in my opinion out of all others!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned every smartwatch from Samsung since they started making them. Gear 1 batter life bad, Gear 2 was Awesome until they released the Gear S & that was by far my best Smartwatch until now. I also owned the Moto 360 & now have the Moto 360 2 & it's awesome as well but not much different than the Moto 30 1. What is so good about the Gear S 2 over the other Samsung watches is the Wireless charging dock. The battery life is as advertised...... It last for 2 to 3 days easy & that's with my brightness all the way up! It's fast in between moving screens & it's size is perfect! The Gear S was very noticeable & it gets a lot of attention because it's so big on the wrist. The Apple watch is WAY TOO small!!!!! The Gear S2 size is is just big enough & it's round like it should be. No speaker to talk on like the last but you can use voice text to send messages. The way you text is on this watch is a little different from previous version. You can speak it, emoji it which is really cool & the part I don't like is if you want to type you have to use T9 word which sucks!!!! I only type when I have to like in noisy areas or church. You can still use S Voice but it's still not perfect yet on this watch but I'm sure Samsung will fix it on a firmware soon. Overall it's the watch you want & it barely has weaknesses so in my opinion it's worth the $300 or if you can wait, get the 3G version which has a standalone phone #. Hope this rating helps.........

Great Hardware + Not-so-Great OS/Apps = OK Watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went back and forth for quite a while before purchasing a smartwatch as I really wanted something that balanced a smartwatch with a running watch. I had many times looked at the Gear S2 (hereafter referred to as 'GS2'), but was leary of the fact it's not full Android, and I was not using a Samsung phone as it's pair. Personally I use a second gen Moto X, which paired very easily, but required me for download a half dozen apps to get the functionality out of the box. The watch is light and fits well into my day-to-day. Battery Life ------------ Battery Life is strong on the watch even with heavy use, I get 12-18 hours of wear\use without using more than 50% of battery. I don't wear it 24/7 personally, and don't use it for sleep tracking. Design \ Functionality ------------- The click wheel is great for navigation, and the button allignment isn't that hard to get a grip on (There are only two to work with...) The screen is clear and readable. No Flat tire display. But reading anything longer than a short text is a headache. Notifications are great, but can get out of hand easily if you don't manage them via the app. The HR monitor works, but doesnt seem terribly accurate. It's probably ballpark but I wouldn't bet my life on it. The Step counter is also alittle flaky at times. I've gained hundreds of step in a single room in my house. No built in GPS. As a runner this is a mark against the GS2, as I still have to carry my phone with me to track my runs, and the tracking on the watch has flaked on my several times in the middle of the run. The straps are OK, but I've found myself retrieving my watch from the road behind me as the straps released themselves while running. Thankfully this has only happened twice very early on. Operating System ------------- This is not Android Wear, and it's not even like Android Wear...it's Tizen. I'm not saying it not a good OS, as it's very usable for what it is, but it's very limited. See my Apps comments. Apps ------------ This is a major downfall to this watch. The apps are extremely limited, because of Tizen. In the time I've owned it, I've downloaded zero apps. for several reasons. One, they are not part of the Google Play store, meaning you have to setup a completely new account with Samsung for their app store. Two, the app selection is 'lacking' to put it nicely. I have several apps on my Android phone, that I have bought and use on a regular basis and cant fully integrate with my watch. Three, the apps that are out there are expensive and seems like they lack the functionality of there Android Wear equivalents. Four, just to use the watch I was required to download a half dozen companion apps for the base installation. On the positive side though, the apps that are preloaded are generally useable, which is not exactly a glaring vote of confidence. I was able to buy into a few of them but others I still default back to my phone which defeats much of the purpose for buying the watch. No Google Maps...Uses Here Maps. Eh... Final Thoughts ------------ Samsung has a great piece of hardware here in the GS2, unfortunately that's where it ends. The lack of Apps and generally weak OS make this device simply an OK option in my opinion. It's usable...sure. But I'm glad I purchased this watch as a refurb as my investment was about half of what it would have been new, because I wouldn't buy it again. I like the design and the general functionality and think it would be much better if they just integrated with Android Wear. Samsung seems like they are trying to be Apple, and this watch is probably reason enough for me to change my plans for my next phone, as I was seriously looking at an S7 as my next upgrade, and get the feeling they are trying to push away from the Android OS entirely.

bands (including replacement)broke within 2 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst thing samsung ever made. The watch is great. The bands in the other hand, they break by only looking at them. I got 2 watches one got me and one for my wife. Mine i only use to go out and my wife only used hers for one week and then decided she didn't feel too comfortable with it so she put hers away. Mine's band broke within a week, then i used the replacement that came in the box that one also broke, i ended up taking my wife's replacement band which also ended up braking with in 2 weeks. Recently my wife decided to give the watch other try and hers broke the same day.

Horrible!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to upgrade to a smart watch and since I have a samsung phone I thought it would work great together.. I was very wrong. The worst thing was the battery! It took forever to charge. I love the sleep tracking stuff so I was very excited to see how it worked. I took it off the charge and put it on right before I went to sleep. I woke up and it was dead. I checked the app and it died 1 hr and 25 minutes after I fell asleep!!! I returned it the next day. It is heavy and bulky and just not something i would recommend to anyone. Just Dont Get it!

Moving wrist is a battery killer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this but my wrist is always turning on the screen and drains the already poor battery life too quickly. I wanted to love this but am not super happy with it.

Great buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Galaxy S2 (Black) Sport version watch. I have had multiple comments on the rotating bezel and I definently think Samsung really put the watch a step ahead by coming out with that first (from what I believe). I enjoy it everyday and have not used it yet for its complete capability. I work in an office and I love that it looks professional/sporty at the same time. Battery life is impressive! I have had this watch for a little over 2 weeks now! I would recommend the Galaxy S2 watch to anyone!
