First smartwatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I"ve been looking at smart watches for a long time. Glad that I held off on purchasing the 1st gen watches and got the Gear S2. A lot of these reviews seem to be user error or the person just hasn't accepted the concept of what a smartwatch really is. You have a phone for a reason so talk on it like you should It doesn't need to have a speaker or be able to communicate through your phone. There is svoice and speak to text and is very accurate. It is very light and the battery life last very long. I'm on my first charge since I purchased it and it still has more than 60%. I receive 40 - 50 emails, many, many multimedia texts and alerts. The design of this watch is flawless. The turning bezel is like icing on top! It feels so satisfying when you are turning it. You can watch videos and see images that are texted to you. This was super awesome when I saw that it could do that. The Gear S2 is the Motorola 360 on steriods. Can't speak enough about this watch! If you are sitting on the fence, go buy it!

Great watch but recent updates made it less usable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great all around watch. I used it mainly for Nike Plus, but the new Nike RUn Club isn't supported for it. Very disappointing.

So far so good...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big fan of Samsung products, I try to be the first to get any mobile devices; galaxy S series, the note series, and the gear smartwatch series, so I just about had them all. I loved the gear neo 2 and gear 2, and even loved the gear S more, but when they came out with the this smartwatch "gear S2" I followed the release date for months. I got it on the day that it released at Best Buy, and I'm in love all over again, sure it's not perfect but it's comfortable to wear, the feel is beautiful, and easy to navigate, the size is ok, could've been a little bit bigger, just a little bit, I love the battery life especially, I can get up to 5 days on normal uses, and that's defiantly a plus, because I hated having to charge my watch everyday. If I had to say what I don't like about this watch I'll have to say the sending a text feature, and that just may take some getting use to. I wish Samsung could've added some more cool features that I miss in the previous gear watches, light remote control capability, and camera. The bottom line is, this a great watch.

It stopped working after a month.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is an OK smart watch. It stopped working after 1 month of use. No water or physical damage. It just stopped and wouldn't charge.

Horrible product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am naturally an Apple user and lover. My fiancé loves Samsung and I got him the watch as a gift. I had to return it because it would freeze on him when he received phone calls and wouldn't allow him to answer the call on his phone. It would lock itself on the home screen and he wouldn't be able to open his apps in the watch. He then saw all the stuff I can do on my iWatch and is rethinking to moving to Apple.

Poor Design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My watch fell off my wrist after a month of use so I decide to use the other band. Again same thing. I decided not to wear it and after several months, I decided to charge it up and put it back on. Went to work and decided to stop by to get some food. When I get to work, I was trying to see what time it is and no watch on my wrist! I missed my Citizen watch. Last me over 10 years!

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is pretty awesome! I purchased the Gear S and kept if for 2 days before I returned it. The very same day I purchased the Gear S2. I was on the fence because I really like the idea of having a 2nd phone line option with the Gear S, but the battery life was non existent and I was too afraid of damaging the large screen. I am glad I switched. The Gear S2 has an amazing screen, and with it being smaller I really do not think that is a deal breaker, at least not for me. The watch is just that, A WATCH. The reviews people leave do not seem to take into account that this watch is not meant to completely replace your phone, it is simply an accessory. The user interface is very smooth and easy to learn. I found the battery life to be iffy at first, but once the shock of owning a smartwatch wears off and you stop messing with it every few minutes the battery life is great. It has also saved my phone's battery life because I am not constantly checking notifications on my phone screen. I just pick up my wrist, look at the notification, and if it is important I will respond. If it isn't important I ignore it! The integrated S Health and heart rate monitor feature has motivated me to get up and move with convenient reminders to reach your daily step goals. I also love the ability to leave your phone in another room and still be able to connect to it over wifi if you are out of bluetooth range. You truly NEVER miss a notification. The rotating bezel is very functional too. I find it is a nice feature to have, although, you could navigate the entire watch only using the touch screen. I have not tried the NFC function as of yet. My only complaint about this watch is that the sleep monitoring doesn't seem to be there. The watch measures inactivity but it does not seem to measure quality of sleep. I hope that is included in a later update just like the Gear S had in it's features. Overall, a great watch with lots of room to grow depending on creation of apps. It feels very tough and rugged unlike the Gear S. I am not afraid that I will break it or scratch it however I did purchase a screen protector. Get this watch! You won't be disappointed!

Great upgrade from my Gear S 3g
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously had a Gear s 3g version and I now I have the Dark Grey Gear s2 and I love it so much more! I love the rotating bezel and how small and lightweight it is! MY old Gear S was big and bulky and just wasn't practical. I also love the fact that this new smartwatch from Samsung comes with a wireless charger as well so that at night when I charge my device all I have to do is put it on the charger and not have to worry about any cords or which way to put the cradle on! Also, I love the whole new design of it and with it being round it just makes it so much easier to navigate everything and the thing I do like is that it is still a touchscreen as well as you can use the rotating bezel. Pros -wireless charging -rotating bezel -smaller and sleeker design -new UI -better feeling band -lighter weight Cons -Can't make calls from the watch -could have better texting reply options I know my one listed con is probably not a huge concern to most of you and to me it really isn't either but it was a nice little feature when I was driving or just didn't feel like taking out my phone. Luckily you can still accept and reject calls from the watch just not talk through it. All around this is a much better smartwatch than the previous versions and overall I really love this watch so much more than my Gear S!! If you want the calling capabilities then just wait for the 3g version in a couple of weeks but other than that this smartwatch is perfect! I would give this a 9/10 overall!

It's an okay watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am impressed with the functionality of the watch overall, the rotating bezel is amazing. The battery gets me through 2.5 days of use just fine. That is the good of the watch. While there is a great to every product, there is also what makes this device okay. The main thing I had personal qualms with was the proprietary the need for the proprietary watch band. The bands were slightly tough to remove and really easy to attach. In short since the classic is available I will be exchanging the sport for the classic on payday

Another fail
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Typical Samsung, great on paper and not so great once you actually start using it. Like all Samsung products, the software is an absolute mess. They are destroying Android with their bloat and complete lack of quality control. Plus they no longer have Samsung workers to support me when it fails in best buy. Epic fail on all counts.

Great smartwatch with caveats
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: - Interaction with the watch is dead simple. Rotate, tap, swipe. It's drop dead simple and every smart watch manufacturer could learn from Samsung. - Good battery life relative to other smart watches. It doesn't last as long as my original Pebble watch does, but it does so much more. - Amazing display. It's OLED so the blacks are truly black and colors are vibrant. Cons: - S Voice. It frequently flubs and doesn't work. I mean it quite literally misses every word you say. This is a major fail if you like using your voice to interact with your watch. - Here Maps is not Google Maps. You can't use Google Maps with this watch and if you are into all the power and features of Google Maps, then you're going to be missing out on a lot. - There are very few apps on the Samsung App Store. Most of them are junk and the few officials ones, like Yelp, are pretty featureless. - Watch bands are proprietary. Much like every other tech blog that has reviewed this watch, I echo the sentiment that Samsung has nailed the interaction model, but has a lot of work to on a few key aspects. If Samsung can get their partners to create some worthy apps and fix the seemingly deaf S Voice, this may be the one watch to rule them all.

Wonderful Watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To those wanting to Purchase this watch: Do your research. If you wanted the watch so you can answer your phone and talk to people through it, buy the one from AT&T or whatever other carrier. Stop complaining about not being able to do some features that are only available on the integrated watch. Overall this watch does EXACTLY what it says it can do as a NON carrier device. If you want to answer and make calls on your watch, buy the carrier integrated watch. Battery life lasts max of 2 days depending on usage. enough storage space to fit over 100 songs for working out and can pair with BT headphones so you do not need to bring your phone on a jog.

Incredible watch that's smart!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best part about this watch is just that, it looks like a watch! The smart features are definitely a plus but the overall look and feel of the watch is just amazing. The rotating bezel is excellent and extremely convenient for quick, precise adjustments in any conditions or situations. This holds especially true if you live in a colder climate and and you want to check or change something without taking off your gloves to use the touch screen. I've had this watch for just over a week and have averaged just under 2 days of full, heavy use out of the battery. Another huge advantage to this watch is the integrated keyboard for replying to messages (both text and Facebook) that makes for a quick, easy way to respond with something more than just a pre-loaded quick reply. The wireless charging is great too, this also makes the watch more water-resistant than others and allows you to use it for swimming (or in the shower) if you choose to do so.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this watch in 2015. I hardly use it and it just died. Its sad to see the quality of the electronics diminished. My cheap timex $20.00 thats 10 yrs old still works. It seems the devices are preplanned a life span then death. I wont buy anymore samsung junk.
