    Why no sound?

I like the look and design of the watch and also enjoy the new functions. However, I wish there was sound rather than just vibration. What is the point of the function, "find my watch" if you don't know where your watch is and all the watch will do is vibrate. You can't hear vibrations, at least I can't. Having the sound on the gear pro was super helpful to me.

      Hello Kerbster84,

The 3G/4G models of the Gear S2 do have audio capabilities, but the Bluetooth versions do not have audio. If you want the audio features, you will need a carrier supported 3G/4G model of the Gear S2.

    Nice watch, very comfortable..but...

I have a Samsung S6 phone on verizon, so samsung pay as I found out, will not work. The s-health is pretty bad. The notifications would be nice to stick around just a little longer and would be nice to adjust the screen timeout, not not always on. The notifications don't always come in and I have to use Samsung native apps on the phone to get it to work right. I'll give it a few more days, as it stands the watch will be going back. Not impressed. Navigation also will not work as its uses some low level map tool and no such sync or anything to your phone. I do like the watch face that will show your the time, events and the date. I'm a busy guy and would like to see what's going on . Secondly... I find that regardless of what I do with the apps and notifications on the phone, it's useless to the watch. I bought this as I am often in meetings and don't like grabbing my phone, but a glance at the watch would be nice. But event then I can't get the details of the messages to show as a notification unless tapping into it. Overall, nice watch and design, but software and token, seem useless. Oh and the App Store.l forget it. That's not an App Store unless you want to buy watch faces.

    More than I expected

Love this watch. Love that it gives email, text updates. Love that I can download songs and I do not need my phone to listen to them. I forgot my phone one day and I was still able to text, if I could connect to wifi. The only negative is that it does not have a lot of apps that you can download. This is a great buy and it has many more uses than I am even using it for!!

Wanted to love it but returned it

Waited for months for this to come out and had for 8 days. PROS: It is very comfortable, has a smooth UI and nice display CONS: It is too small of a display at 1.2" - everything on it is tiny. There are absolutely no usable apps available (1000 promised on launch didn't happen) - no list, note or reminder apps, weather does not update on it's own, many missed call, text and email notifications over the 8 days (paired with Note 4), rotating bezel seemed to be getting loose.

Hoping they get all the issues fixed

Pros: Very nice looking watch, the dial method to swich between apps is a genius idea and works smoothly, very good resolution. Cons/issues I had: Only about 25 apps available including the ones that came with the watch (the rest are watchfaces), The apps that are available only work half the time and some don't work at all, Sport/Running apps have to be turned on both on the phone and the watch before a run then similarly stopped on both after a run, Nike + running app deleted my run during a run after getting a notification, Call notification would only work half of the day, couldn't get the ESPN app to work after installing the 3 different apps it needed to work, news apps would sometimes not load, S voice cannot set reminders and was only able to recognize commands 10-20 percent of the time, Battery life was subpar and did not last through the night with a full charge with sleep as android app running in background. Finally returned it after it felt like I had bought a 300 dollar watch that wasn't out of beta testing. I hope to repurchase it once and if they fix all the issues and make it feel like I'm upgrading from my pebble.

    Not what I expected

I had the previous version of this watch and loved it. I loved being able to hear things on it, But one of the most important missing items for me is being able to track my sleep. I have chatted with Samsung several times and told that this would be updated and it has not yet. I am extremely disappointed in Samsung at this point in time.

A great watch hampered by Tizen

    Posted .

The Samsung Gear S2 is a beautiful device and the rotating bezel is a truly revolutionary (no pun intended) innovation in the world of smartwatches. However, if you don't own a Samsung device then the watch's functionality is severely reduced (inability to send text messages/take phone calls/lack of email app). The amount of third party apps available for the device is criminal, there are very few. S-Voice, the onboard voice assistant within the Gear S2, is awful compared to Google Now built into any Android Wear device. Overall, if you own a Samsung device and want a great looking/functioning watch with basic functionality then go for it. If you own any other phone, go for a Moto 360 instead.

    Should have gotten 3G version

The notifications and quick information are useful when on the go. Still, if I could leave my phone at home for quick trips and communicate with just the phone, that would add a lot of value. Sad that it can't be used for Samsung Pay.... yet.

The watch has a lot of promise but apps a glitchy with my droid turbo navigation on watch will not sync with phone so you cannot use watch for the navigation feature and its hard to add apps to the short cut like nav and watch light once bugs are fixed watch will be excellent

    Great Watch, only minor issues

I've had this watch for four months now. I purchased it for working out and as a smart watch. The pulse sensor is not great if you're moving. It's designed to measure pulse when stationary. It works well with android sleep apps but needs to be charged daily. The watch band broke but luckily it comes with a set of replacement straps. The watch completely froze on me once and I had to get it reset to factory settings by the Samsung rep at Best Buy. The watch is a fun toy. I wish it had longer battery life, more strap options, and a better pulse meter.

I love this watch, it's like a mini computer on my wrist that keeps me well informed. I am sure it is not perfect but it's definitely a nice smart watch and being on sale right now for 229.99 , I couldn't pass it up.

Nice looking watch but battery life was weak. No apps to connect with Twitter or Facebook seems behind the curve. Watch looked a little feminine for my taste.

Great SmartWatch But A Lot of Issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought 2 of these watches when they first came out. It does everything you would ever want from a smart watch. All the functionality but if you want to be able to talk through your watch at ALL you need the CARRIER version of the watch. To me that is pretty stupid that I would have to go through a carrier to get a watch that you would only want to talk through via bluetooth. THIS VERSION DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO TALK THROUGH THE WATCH!

Love that I don't have to have my phone in my hand every minute to see messages, love the step counter, and the large amount of watch faces that you can change.
