This watch has worked exactly as needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I wanted a stand alone running watch that would do steps throughout the day, heart rate, music through Bluetooth, tracking running distance and be a nice watch. I wanted all of this without using a phone on my runs and this watch does just that. I did need an android phone to load the music but stand alone after that. The distance and heart rate are accurate as tested on my treadmill - very similar heart rate and distance numbers. Needs: Track distance on runs- Check Track steps during day - Check Play music through BT - Check Heart rate - Check Stand alone - Check

Great for a beginner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is great for a beginner in the smartwatch game. It allows you to respond to e-mails, texts, and get notifications. The only downside is that while you can reject or accept phone calls, they do not go to the watch itself, but get sent to your phone. Would definitely like to see more applications make their way to the watch, especially social apps, but I am sure that will happen soon. Applications are constantly getting added.

Couldn't give no stars so I gave one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had been looking at buying a gear s2, since they came out. I wanted a watch to receive notifications, and track steps, and time on elliptical. I had a fit bit charge hrs but notifications are horrible. Well Christmas morning I find I received one as a gift. I was so excited, I set it right up everything was going great. Wore it and my galaxy s6 phone all morning. At around noon I look at my watch only showing 800 steps, check the phone showing over 2000. I reset themail gear s2, retest same results. I get on elliptical spend 30 minutes gear s2 doesnt register a single step, phone registers almost 5000. So the following day I take watch back and am told it must be defective. So I wait 3 days until they get more in, rush to the store to get a new one. Get home and set it up, did My normal routine phone registers 503 steps gear registers 35, jump on elliptical for 10 minutes, gear still at 35 steps, phone now attached 1808. So 2nd gear wI'll go back tomorrow. Very disappointed in the gear s2, definitely not even a reasonably decent step tracker, or a fitress tracker. If your looking for a expensive notification watch this is ok. If your wanting to use for shealth, forget it and save your money.

Gears s2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one I personally have. I bought this one for a gift for my father the idea that you can change your bands to customize your face or what you're wearing. Was the most enticing thing that he lied about mine I ordered a custom band Offline that is a metal Sports man so my particular watch is all black.. The same look even the same features I bought the band about the watch and he never takes it off.

Simple & Useful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Besides the occasional mishaps with step tracking, this watch is EVERYTHING a watch-wearer would need. Heart Monitoring, Weather, Multi-Zone Clock, Stopwatch, Alarm, Calendar, etc.... But for the tech fanatics, we're able to view phone gallery, play music and game, even download a heap of apps! The included interchangeable bands definitely came in handy when shedding the pounds.

Great Smartwatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my Gear S2 for a few months now and I absolutely love it. It is simple to use, extremely durable, and all around works like a charm. I have hit it against things quite a few times and it barely even shows. The bezel is way more durable than I thought it would be. As far as customization goes, There are tons of watch faces that you can get, you can get games, and quite a few different games. This was my first smartwatch and I have been quite impressed.

"Smart" watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the features of this watch. I had the Gear 2 for a couple years before. Purchased the Gear s2 wanting more features. Really like the flexibility of this watch. Easy to use. The downfall I have noticed is I can not answer incoming call. I do miss this feature and hope Samsung can fix it. I also like that the SHEALTH showed everything from my phone. I use the Samsung Note 5.

Good Watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this watch after trying other watches from 2 other companies. I am huge Samsung Tech fan. This watch as a smartwatch works well but for some notifications that do not show up on the watch. Also, I usually keep a close tab on the daily steps and found that this watch does not count the steps correctly. It adds steps when I am typing or moving my hand especially when I am playing with my new born. First couple of days I was not sure what was going on but then I started counting steps and then realized that your hand movement is also considered as steps by the watch. This does not happen with the Samsung phone that I use. When contacted Samsung support they said it's like that by design and that hand movement is also considered as a step. So basically if you have a 6000 step goal thru the day you can just sit and move your hand and add on the steps without moving around. Looks like Samsung is promoting unhealthiness with this. I haven't tried the exercise option yet not sure how it will behave.

Total waste of $300
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The funtions on the watch are ok, i liked the fact that it will work independently without my phone. I also think the watch looks really good with some very nice watch faces, but thats the only good things i can say about it. I Thought the answer and call options on the watch were a joke considering it has no microphone or speaker, so it makes you use your phone anyway. The biggest issue i have is with the watch band. Samsung tried to come out with a new and innovative watch band that just so happens to force you to buy a SAMSUNG replacement if anything happens to the one that comes with it. It clips on and has a spring loaded mechanism and 2 screws that hold it in place. I had it about a week before the screws backed out of it and the band just came apart, i took the springs and screws out of the small band that came with the watch in order to fix it. About 9 days later the glue that holds the band to the clip just came apart. This time it cost me $42.00 to buy a replacement band. Then about 3 weeks later i was taking my sweatshirt off and the glue came apart from the new band. Called Best Buy and they would not give me my money back. Told me i had to call Samsung. Talked to samsung and they told me they would replace the band one time only and only after i sent them my old one. I am very disappointed in the quality of this VERY expensive watch. I will be selling mine on Ebay as soon as Samsung sends me a new band. Which also negates the the extended warranty because it is not transferable. What a money racket this turned out to be. I have always bought Samsung products, but this may be my last.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Samsung Gear S2 on November 19th I loved it, the apps, the design, it was fun to see my text and incoming calls, make my own watch faces. But on Friday Jan. 15th my watch band broke, just broke right off with part of the band still stuck in the watch, it was still under the extended return and exchange coverage with Best Buy , so I took it back to exchange it for a new one. Best Buy informs me that they won't take it back because it is broken, even though it is in the time frame for the return and exchange. They said I would have to contact Samsung directly to see if they would fix it. From what I have researched this is becoming a common occurrence with the watch, and to top it off Samsung will not replace or fix the watch because the watch band is not covered under their warranty, and their bands costs anywhere from 20.00 - 49.00 depending on where you purchase them from. So now 2 months later I have a 299.00 dumbwatch... SAVE YOUR MONEY....

Meh...Going Back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent design. Sport band is uncomfortable and doesn't do the design justice. Glass back is irritating. Buttons and dial relatively intuitive. The amazing selection of apps isn't so amazing. Tizen OS is almost there but not quite yet. Watch dials customizable. Hands down better than previous iterations but still not great.

Samsung lost me as a customer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the gear S2 thinking I would have the FIDME app and would be able to talk on the watch like the rest of the gear watch line. It does not allow you to talk on the watch like the rest. I also opened the watch and noticed that the band attached to the watch had a defect on the latch part. Best Buy did not have anymore in stock in my area so I called samsung. I was told by Samsung you have to send in the entire watch to replace the band. It is easy to replace the band and I did with the extra band in the box. I called samsung to get the original band replaced, and they said instead of just sending them the band you have send the whole watch. It also took three days for them to tell me this. What a joke... Bad customer service and I am going back to my gear S.

Good watch, horrible OS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch (and the Gear S2Neo) would be absolutely amazing if Samsung hadn't gone away from Android Wear to the Tizen OS. Too bad...Samsung has a great product ruined by their own OS. For now, I would get a Huawei/LG/Moto watch that utilizes the Android Wear platform.

My wife loves it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it for my wife and she loves having a convenient device right on her wrist. It had helped with working out and playing music to finding her phone our children hide from us, even though it was on silent she was able to get it to ring. There are many uses for it and she is still learning them.

Poor Band Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having this watch for three months, BOTH sets of straps that came with it have broken. The plastic strap separated from the metal attachment, like the glue stopped working. I have yet to hear back from Samsung on this, but in checking other reviews it looks like this is a major issue. Spend the extra $50 and get the classic. At least then you can swap out the stock band for any 40mm bands and not be on the hook to buy direct from samsung.
