This watch is a great companion to my Note 4, it does everything, it is a great watch. I wish the battery life was at least three days instead of a day and a half but with all it does I can deal with that.

This watch is great. The display is so bright, clear, and crisp. It's snappy and I love being able to control my Bluetooth speakers from it when listening to music. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Love my new watch, I use it daily. I love to change my watch faces daily to match my outfits. It's awesome! Reading texts, letting me know I have a phone call and emails at work when I have my phone on silent.

I use it for running, to read my messages and texts and answer my phone. It records my steps, stores my music and tracks my runs. No need to carry my phone during my runs anymore.

All my friends and my son have the Apple watch. I feel so superior. Other smart watches are so "analog," compared to my gear s2

This is my second smartwatch from Samsung, my first being a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, and I must say it is an improvement from the previous version. Not only does this look like a conventional watch, but the interface on it is pretty simple and intuitive when using. The moving bezel around the edge of the watch face is a pretty useful and easy to use for navigating the menu's of the smartwatch as well as accessing the various apps on the watch. The rotating bezel is perhaps the coolest and most useful feature of the Gear S2. As for battery, without running it on the brightest setting, I can usually get roughly 72 hours (3 days) before I need to recharge the smartwatch to continue using, which is pretty good to compared to other smartwatch brands and it on par with my old Gear 2 Neo. Speaking on my Gear 2 Neo, there are two features on it that the Gear S2 doesn't have. The first one, which is pretty minor, is the IR emitter for remote control of TVs and cable boxes and I am not terrible worried about that. The second one, which gives my old Gear 2 Neo a slight edge over the Gear S2 is the ability to actually make phone calls on the smartwatch. While you can accept or reject phone calls on the Gear S2, you can't actually take calls, such as speaker phone calls, which kind of gave you a Star Trek or Dick Tracy moment. Again, two minor things that I lost by switch to the new Gear S2, but it does everything else my old Gear 2 Neo does. Receiving notifications from texts, emails, or even apps are clear and easy to read. So you if have a Samsung android smartphone and are looking for a cool accessory, definitely check out the Gear S2. A bit pricey, but I haven't stopped wearing it since I got it. Plus it comes with a swappable wrist band for different size wrist.

I was initially happy with this smartwatch. I was able to stay connected and it has lots of cool features. However, after owning it for two months, the strap tore. It was really difficult to change it, but I was able to. I bought a set of three more straps, which all tore. I then found a metal strap (online through Amazon), and that solved that problem. After then having the device for 7 months, I was wearing it and it stopped responding to touch or hard button use and when I removed the device, the backing had come off. It looked like the adhesive was faulty or something. There is no physical damage to the device. I called Samsung "customer service" and they stated they could not verify the serial number. They called me back again to state they were still trying to verify it. Then, they called me back a third time to tell me they could not verify the serial number and were planning on closing the ticket. I again gave them the serial number, and they stated this was different than they had before and would have to call me back again. I asked to speak to a supervisor, repeatedly, until they finally put one on. She informed me that the validation process takes 24 to 48 hours and if they can verify it, they will give me instructions to mail it in. I imagine they will try to charge me for "physical damage" if I do eventually send it in. I bought this from Best Buy and the serial number should not have been an issue. Had I known I would have to deal with a shoddy product and ridiculous customer care, I would have bought a superior device. My husband has a Moto360 that is a year older and has yet to experience one problem with it. These devices should at least last a year or so.

It's a lousy fitness watch compared to my Fitbit Surge, but it's very attractive. Voice recognition for voice dictated texting is shockingly good.

Got mine today. This watch is very impressive. It feels authentically digital. It doesn't feel like it is trying to impersonate a "real" watch. It feels like a 21st century wristwatch. It is very well built (though, perhaps a notch below a Stainless Steel Apple Watch), and doesn't feel bulky like the Moto360 or Huawei or Apple Watches. It is very light, the weight disappears on your wrist. These are all issues I've had with smartwatches in the past.
The display is gorgeous. Very nice pixel density. And the rotating bezel? Genius. It is a great user interface choice for a watch. Gone are the endless swipes of Android Wear. This also allows the watch to be smaller since you don't need a large watch face to interact with. Well done, Samsung.
The only potential downsides are the lack of Google apps since this runs Tizen and not Android Wear. Of course since it doesn't run Android Wear, it doesn't feel like a cartoon watch either (those cards, Google? Those are awful). It is very sad seeing a high end Hauwei watch run Android Wear, and seeing those way too bright and loud cards pop up on a beautiful stainless steel watch. Ouch.
But this thing so far is very nice. I am very pleased, and I cannot say I've ever not had buyer's remorse after buying a smartwatch. This is the first smartwatch I think I'll want to wear for a long time. Well done, Samsung.
I use this watch with my Note 5, and it has been seamless so far. If you want a Smartwatch on the Android platform, this is the watch to get.

First off, whatever I buy, it comes in pairs because I get one for myself and my wife since she likes the same thing lol. Anyhow, we both had 1st Gen Moto 360's. We did kind of miss some features like the charging dock nightstand clock mode, and the superb voice speech system with Android Wear, but we quickly got over those features. The lack of those features or them working well as well a few other small things keep this from being a 5 star watch.
Durability? Both me and my wife Kickbox at an MMA and UFC gym (900+ calories burned in 1 hour), so we do HARDCORE Kickboxing. We've never had our bands to break, scratches, or anything, gloves on or off, and I've banged my watch on car parts, PC equipment, walls, and etc, and it looks brand new. You can't go wrong here if durability is a concern.
Speaking of fitness, the S Health integration is just as good as Apple's, if not better, and it works for any type of fitness sport you do, not just running like the Moto Sport. If fitness tracking is a priority, get this watch! No regrets! Way way way way way better than Android Wear!
Samsung pay is a GAME CHANGER! You can use Samsung Pay at EVERY terminal except insertion terminals (like Gas Station Pumps and ATM machines). You don't have to guess which store has an NFC terminal, or if you leave your wallet or purse at home, you can still pay for things and is way more secure than the card chip tech out now. You can only currently use NFC on the watch, but this is just an app update away. The convenience of paying with your watch and/or your phone can't be beat!
The Gear S2's UI (user interface) is much more intuitive and streamline than Android Wear....the swiping all over the place for basic functions gets old, especially when you're in a rush. The rotating bezel touch screen combo more than makes up for the lack of voice functions from a daily use perspective. We don't really use the S Voice features because they do work, but it's annoying to get things correct. I'd just much rather grab my phone and text or use the keyboard texting app on the watch. If voice functions are a must (hands free operation), then I would suggest getting an Android Wear (or Apple Watch if you have an iPhone and etc).
The watch imo actually looks cleaner and feels as such than the Moto 360, even the Moto 360 2nd Gen, especially if you get the Classic with the leather bands....this is coming from a previous Moto 360 owner too which I still have great love for Motos! For a Sport Smart Watch, this is hard to argue against since it looks both sporty and classy, and it isn't a lint magnet like the Moto 360 Sport Band. It's easily on par if not better looking that the Apple Sport Watch, but again, looks are subjective.
The Screen is AWESOME! Super AMOLED kills Android Wear hands down, it's just beautiful! I am a power user, and keep my screen brightness on 6 out of 10. I am never below 55% (but usually at 70 something percent) by 10pm-midnight no matter how hard I try to drain the battery and I start my days at 4am, so for you normal 6-9am risers, you can easily go 2 days without a charge. I dock it at night anyhow, but it's just good to know.
You can make calls and talk on it if you get the 3G version from your phone carrier, but I think this feature is silly except for maybe having to catch a call in the shower or something, but honestly, I just use my Jawbone for those situations and no one knows I'm in the shower due to the excellent noise cancellation lol. If you HAVE to have this feature, this and the Apple Watch are your only current choices.
This watch does have flaws (lack of many app choices, voice speech doesn't work well, etc), just like ALL OF THEM HONESTLY. You will gain some things with one brand smart watch while loosing some to others. It all depends on your wants and needs. We are happy with our switch, and honestly probably won't go back. Just Google search for any more info on this watch vs others.

Best Smart Watch So Far

I read reviews about this watch before the purchase. All the criticisms about this watch were pluses for me. I had previous Samsung Gear S and it's display was too big and the curvature of the display made it easy to scratch the surface as I bump my wrist around the house. Its speaker was convenient but not good for private conversation and it really drained the battery. S2 is flat. No scratch so far. No speaker but bluetooth is just fine. The battery lasts two days with frequent use. Don't care about having thousands of apps. I have all I need. I can control my podcasts and take a voice memo from my watch. Only one problem. The watch band screw was loose. Took to local Best Buy at Carson City, Nevada. I asked for help because my 60 year old eyes are not as they used to be. Russell, the assistant manager, said It's broke, I need to send to Samsung and I can't return it either. I bought bi-ocular magnifier glasses and screwed the watch band on. For those who are thinking about purchasing this watch I would consider purchasing the model with classic band. The band is easier to change. Good luck. I love the watch.

I had done a lot of research online about which smart watch I wanted and waited months for this to come out. The bezel makes this thing super easy to use and texting is easy. I use this thing all the time and the battery lasts at least two days and will still have 20 to 30 percent left.
The only things that slightly bug me are the facts that there is no reply option when you are looking at a text, so to text someone, they have to be on your buddy list set on your phone. Also, because it's a Tizen OS, there aren't many apps yet. I'm patient, but I would like to see more come out soon.
Other than those things though, this has made my life a lot easier and I feel safer with the ability to send help messages from my watch. If you're going to get a smart watch, get this. It will be available to pair with iPhones soon!

Samsung Gear S2

With high hopes of this being the smartwatch that shows all the others up, I was pretty disappointed by what I got. Firstly, the lack of preparedness on Samsung's part was just absurd. The black Samsung Gear S2 was the only smartwatch to launch with the others "coming soon". I was looking forward to purchasing the 'Classic' smartwatch, but couldn't wait. The watch itself is fantastic, it's very fast, the battery lasts almost three days, and the rotating bezel is such a great idea. The app selection on the other hand is saddening. We were promised 1000 apps at launch; I can tell you right now there is nothing close to 1000 apps on Samsung's app store (that support the Gear S2). With time, this watch will well deserve five stars, but for the lack of apps, I'm giving it four. If you are wanting this watch but the white or classic variant, I would say wait for it. You will get what you want and hopefully by that time there will be a lot more apps supporting the Gear S2.

If you think a watch should look like a watch...

...then this one is for you. I have been waiting for a correctly proportioned, round-faced smart watch. I generally wear mid-priced watches from Citizen, Bulova, etc. When this came along, I thought I'd give it a try. It is priced similarly to the watches I already own. It looks great on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear. It falls between dressy and casual; it is equally appropriate for work in the office, exercise in the gym, or weekend chores/errands. Could wear it with a suit in a pinch. It works well with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, although some notifications don't make it to the watch (primarily texts). Most do. Many useful functions, and the rotating bezel is very good for navigating them all. The bezel can be a little slippery to get a good hold on, though. Some indentations would help, but the smooth look is cool. Fitness tracking is very good, gets my heart rate, steps, etc. Again, works very nicely with Samsung's "S-Health" app on the phone. One big disappointment is that it seems to confuse the bluetooth in my cars. When I accept calls w/ the watch in my Jeep (UConnect), the calls are routed to the handset instead of to the car's speaker. It happens occasionally in my Honda, too, although not as predictably as in the Jeep. This may have something to do with the cars' vintage (the Jeep is a 2007, the Honda a 2013). The vibrating notifications are palpable but subtle. You can choose which notifications go to the watch, so you're not constantly barraged with interruptions. There is no speaker, so even if your phone is silent, you will get notified without any embarassing beeps or chirps. Of course, this also means that you can't take calls from the watch directly; you must get to your handset. So if you want to be Dick Tracy, you'll have to splurg for the 3G model. I think it's on Verizon. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I find myself wearing the Gear S2 the majority of the time.
