This blows away anything that's android wear. No there may not be as many apps on Tizen as with android, but I don't need a million apps on my wrist. Let me control my music, actually respond to texts with a keyboard, track my fitness and diet, give me a better weather app and I'm happy. I love the watch faces that come on the device, and there's plenty to download ob the Samsung store as well. Get it! You won't regret it.

The rotating bezel on this is excellent. You can use it or the touch screen to scroll. It makes it a lot easier to get to the different pages of the watch interface. Battery life is great. The band felt good and solid. All in all probably one of the better built smart watches out there.

I have had this smartwatch in my possession for a few weeks now. I have to say, I have always been a Samsung fan. I very much like the simplicity of this watch yet there are a lot of customization options available without even having to buy or download anything extra.
I very much recommend this watch for the active type of person.
-There are no speakers so if you answer a phone call with it you have to run to grab your phone before you can talk
-You will need to connect Bluetooth headphones to the watch if you want to listen to downloaded music hence the lacking of speakers.
Plus side:
-EXCELLENT battery life. I use it pretty regularly and I get a few days out of it.
-The convenience is unmatched. I text using it all the time
-it connects to Wi-Fi that your phone has saved
-power saving mode just in case two days of use without a charge isn't enough
-WIRELESS CHARGING!! I have been waiting for that for a long time.

I love this watch. as with anything there are pros and cons and that kind of depends on the user. Some reviewers seem to have issues with S-Voice, while i think it works great. At least as well as some other "S" named voice commands out there. The app store kind of leaves much to be desired unfortunately. The Samsung OS is still new and hopefully catches on soon (Maybe some google apps!). The apps that are available work well on the watch. The main selling point for me was the rotating bezel. It is spot on. I hope the continue to release watches with this tech cuz man is it smooth.

My mom uses this with samsung's level U Bluetooth headphones. She says it's great. She works at a deli and always has her hands full making sandwiches. When she gets a call, she can pick up through the watch and talk through her Bluetooth headphones all HANDS FREE. This watch also has a great user interface which is easy to use. My mom also told me that her frequent customers have been complementing her on how great the watch looks on her. She has the black one. Overall, I'm so happy that my mom is putting it to good use and that she's a happy camper with it.

Great looking, loaded with features. Limited number of apps but new ones almost daily. Battery life OK (I like power saving feature), but still have to charge it nightly. Nice to be able to pick up or reject calls and read and reply to texts on it. Lacks sleep monitoring and continuous HR monitoring my charge HR had. Overall, good alternative to Apple Watch for a lot less.

This is a great wearable in my opinion. I was a little hesitant buying a Tizen based smartwatch and the size of the battery worried be a bit too. Then I started thinking about all the stuff I did with my Moto 360 first gen. Most of it surrounded reviewing notifications and setting timers / alarms. Well the S2 does those pretty well. The OS is buttery smooth, barely ever a hiccup and the dial interaction is great. Svoice ( Samsung's Google Voice competitor ) is completely lack luster, it rarely gets what I'm saying unless I'm speaking very loudly and has long pauses between speaking and getting a reply. Also the app selection isn't anywhere as close to what it is on Android. On the plus side the battery lasts me 2 days with time to spare with normal usage.
The battery life along with the quality of the hardware, smoothness of the OS, and watch dial interaction made this a pretty big win in my book. If they get their app store populated with more apps ( Philips Hue app please! ) then it'd be an easy 5 stars for me.

I must say that the gear S 2, is more than what I thought it would be. I was a little disappointed at first, since very little information was available. However the more I played with it the more I fell in love with it. This watch is loaded. The functionality is great, easy to operate, read and just requires hands on use to manage. I only take it off to charge, and depending what I'm wearing I change the face to match. Battery life is cool, wish it was 4 or 5 days however I'm getting almost 2 days and that's constant use. I've been getting the looks since it lights up with the twisting of the wrist, some of which are intentional so others can see it lol. I have no problems since I've taken the time to familiarized myself with the features. I've had garmin vivofit and forerunner but my Gear offers all the features, and a few more than any of my previous ones. It syncs great with my note 5, and I'm like a kid on Christmas lol. All I can say is try it and I'm sure you'll love it.

I got this one before the claasic was realeased. I took it back for the classic. Very nice watch but sportier looking with the rubber band than i prefer. The UI is phenomenal although i cant get flipboard to populate? Also no mini opera app currently. Tons of watch faces available and more apps loading each day. Runs on Tizen which ive never had any issues with. This is a sleek very attractive watch that actually looks like a watch. I tested the always on feature and it does suck battery but still got the full day use with no problem. Sammy took away the ability to "talk" from the watch which is a real bummer. That feature was awesome when you are busy and away from your phone. Also was a very nice safety feature to have...probably done to push the 3g model coming out in Nov. Sprint didnt pick up the S2 so im out of luck for the 3g and not paying for a while new service for a watch. Plus the 3g is not available in the classic model. The classic is gorgeous! Buy it, you wont be disappointed. The wireless charging is awesome! The gear s charging cradle was severely flawed. The contacts rubbed off and i can no longer charge it so its a useless piece of rubbish now.

I have only had this item for a bout a month, but as far as I can tell so far, it is a sharp device. It is a high price, but I will say the warranty is worth it as customer service was great in immediately replacing it when a buttton came loose after 2 days of owning it. I do notice some small scratches on the bezel area. I guess I am harder on it that I expected. I have not used all apps yet but including Maps but my runs are logged pretty well it seems, especially since I wear my phone on my arm and use that GPS. I bought that arm band for maybe $7 on Amazon. To me this is way better than waiting and waiting and buying an even more expensive device that already has GPS for at least 50 more dollars. Overall, it is meeting my needs as far as tracking sleep, most activity, and notifications from Email, calendar, etc. I am just hoping they keep the updates and app additions coming. :)

The watch is lightweight, incredibly easy to use, and I like the rounded face better than other watches I have seen. I feel like the pedometer is a little stingier than a Fitbit, but there is the possibly I am slowing down.
The only drawbacks are really to app options. The stuff you want is available and if you have a Samsung phone, its a perfect companion piece. However, there is a limited selection for people looking for a more immersive experience. That being said, I view smartwatches as a more passive piece of technology, and this does those things. I often learn about calls from the watch before the phone rings, I can reply to text without touching the phone, get the weather fairly easily, and the map function isnt that bad either.

Bought the watch today, it's a great watch, better than my Samsung Gear S, but when I opened the box, I thought I bought a ladies watch, it is WAY TOO SMALL, I wore it for 1 hr and couldn't get over the size, so I returned it. So disappointed with Samsung (first time ever), they should have made a bigger version for men. Samsung saying is "Next Big Thing", there's nothing BIG about this watches size.

I've had my Gear S2 for over a month and wear it (almost) daily. Was very easy to set up and link to my Note5. Only drawback is personal based on ease of reading text msgs, and some apps, when I don't have reading glasses handy. Normally only need to charge after 36+ hours of use, which is more than reasonable. Would recommend this over other wearable tech if you already have a Samsung phone.

The watch is well made. The buttons have a nice feel to them and I like the radius dial to navigate and control apps. I am extremely hard on watches and so far so good. No scratches or dings. I love the charging cradle, just drop it in and go. The watch comes with a nice selection of faces. However, there are not many that are free for download. I like the way the Samsung Gear App controls the watch and allows you to select which apps send alerts to the watch. I have a few complaints… there is no speaker on this watch. So, that means no audible alarms, just vibrates. Also, because there is no speaker, you cannot do ‘speaker phone’ calls on your watch like you can on the older model Gear watches. I miss that feature. There is a limited selection of watch bands at this time, so I am hoping for more later down the road. The battery is good all day. I have a lot of notifications that go to my watch, so they don’t seem to eat up the battery. I usually have 65% left at the end of a 14 hour day with the display brightness turned up all of the way.

I absolutely love this watch! My coworker and I both bought this one this year. Between the two of us we have every Samsung gear watch and this is by-far the best. Everyone always asks if I can talk on it (Secret Agent Style) and the answer is no. I am able to swipe to answer but all talking must be done on the handset. I am very happy that I am able to text on it--no more having to preprogram the responses like with the gear fit. I can text back anything I want. I can read the texts, I can even get pictures. I can still control the music and I am able to track all fitness activities. A complaint I remember seeing about the gear fit was that it would not track the heart rate while tracking activity but this one tracks automatically. I wear my watch everyday--at night before I go to bed I stick it on the magnetized wireless charger and every morning, I put it back on. I LOVE IT!!! (despite a slight allergic reaction I appear to be having from the rubber wrist band).

This is my second smart watch, first being the original Microsoft band. The display on this watch is great. I have managed not to scratch it in over two weeks, so that is at least a testament to the watches durability. It took about days of charging and draining to get the watch to give me 2+ days of life between charges, but its great now. I wish there was some more customization off the bat with the watch faces. I would really love a custom picture with analoig hands, but if you want a custom picture, it has to be digital. There aren't a lot of on watch apps that I like other than the messaging and call notifications, but the ESPN integration is really cool. Considering this is a brand new OS for samsung on this watch, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

This is my first smartwatch. It paired seamlessly with my Galaxy S6 Edge. Get instant notifications of email and texts. The rotating bezel is genius. Have not problems with the touchscreen. Steps per day seem accurate based off of what I used to get from my FitBit. Tizen OS has not been an issue. Watch is comfortable to wear and screen resolution is terrific.
Improvements: More apps. Voice to text does not work very well if there is extra noise around. When quieter, it has not been wrong yet.
Battery life is very good. No problem getting two days worth of battery life. I have noticed a sizable decrease in cell phone battery life.
Overall, job well done, Samsung!

Bought this watch for the wifey (bought myself the S3 frontier and didn't want her to felt left out!) and she loves it. Bought the white one and changed the strap to black for less than $10 from Amazon. Looks great, lightweight and she loves it. The only thing missing is a speaker but for 200 bucks it's a great deal!

I like the watch and would recommend it, but all I expected and want from the watch is to look good, tell the time, count my steps and receive notifications including texts and emails. All of this works well for me. Also the battery lasts a full day with some reserve.

Plenty of watch faces to choose from. Battery lasts about 2 days with normal use. Wish it made noise instead of just vibrate, and wish it gave more options to customize what appears on a watch face. I liked it enough to buy my wife one in addition to mine.
