Computer came in perfect condition. Great build quality and materials. Lightweight, feels very solid. Came with Windows 8.0 pre-installed, and only 20 GB of 128 GB free. There are 4 hidden partitions of the HD with recovery images.
Driver compatibility with Win 8.0 is just OK. Some evident glitches with screen and keyboard luminosity when returning from Sleep mode. So I decided to update to Windows 8.1. Drivers were downloaded through SW Update = Nothing worked. Drivers provided by Samsung for this computer simply do not work with Win 8.1 so wait for further updates. Decided to go back to Windows 7 as I really needed a fully working machine. Installed Win 7 Ultimate in the tiny space C: partition = Severe conflicts with drivers, especially those of Intel components (Video, Motherboard, WIFI). Multiple errors when starting Windows, and sluggish performance. Then decided to get rid of all the OEM settings, so I deleted all of the partitions of the HD, and then formatted in NTSC. Installed Win 7 Ultimate x64 over that, then got 114 of 128 GB free. Installed the drivers from SW Update (Samsung), now they worked just fine. Everything works as it should now. But spent 2 days in try-and-error mode with the computer so it can work as it should. Guess not for every type of user. If you want an out-of-the-box, ready-to-use solution, I would say stay away from this.
Hope it helps!

Poor laptop overall with various bugs

Bought this laptop about 7-8 months ago when it first came out and my old laptop died after 4 years of hard work. I regret the decision.
The positives: The laptop has one of the highest density resolutions out there. It is pretty much like Apple's retina display and one of the few laptops with 1080p 13.3" at this price range. The look of the laptop is beautiful and battery lasts a very long time.
The negatives: The specs on this laptop would lead you to believe it is high performance. Unfortunately, it is full of bugs and errors. With multiple tabs of videos loading (HD Youtube videos), the touchpad becomes erratic and jumps so much that it becomes hard to control the laptop. Scrolling down webpages with heavy content also cause lag and beeping sounds. Regular web surfing should not be an issue for modern laptops.
Furthermore, Samsung has stopped supporting the laptop since Windows 8.1 update from Windows 8.0. The driver update never occurs now and this has killed some functions. For example, the touchpad now forces time delay when performing a drag and drop, whereas previously there was an option to turn the time delay off. I've contacted Samsung support on multiple occasions to resolve these issues, and all they recommend is system restore every time.
The casing for this laptop is beautiful, but is made of low quality steel. After 2 months of using it, the part where my palm rests started to erode the chrome finish.
Overall: I would not recommend this laptop. Perhaps, other Samsung laptop have better build, but I would steer clear of a purchase. There are just too many minor bugs and issues that, together, hurt the overall performance of this laptop.
