super light weight and professional appearance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing- the organization of the box for this laptop was very neat and organized. minimal pieces of styrofoam and everything fit so neatly it was satisfying. Just the notebook, pen, small instruction manual and the charger. Notebook- This is the lightest notebook I have ever held. less than 3lbs. I wasn't very pleased with the start up process. It took much longer to set up the notebook to be able to use it than any other computer or laptop I have ever used. It was frustrating for me because I just wanted to use it! the graphics are impeccable. The screen is so crisp and clear. I don't think I will end up using the pen very much but if that's something you're looking for this notebook did a great job with it. the only downfall is that there isn't a spot on the laptop to clip the pen onto. easy to lose. It also folds backwards into a tablet like the Lenovo yoga. This feature is becoming more and more popular but I honestly never use it. Battery life has been more than adequate for my taste. Light use over the past 4 days has left me with 1/4 battery left.

Computer was offy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the computer is rated good but the open box certified computer was crap. The Geek Squad either didn't certify it like the ad said, do not know what they are doing, or they have no clue how do their jobs. I had to send to Samsung for repairs immediately after receiving my purchase. The screen was inoperable and noticeable so when I received it. This is BS and Best Buy and The Geek Squad should be ashamed for selling and certifying this laptop. NEVER AGAIN!!! I WILL DEFINITELY PURCHASE COMPUTERS ELSEWHERE. NEVER BUY ANYTHING CERTIFIED BY the geek squad. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!

Great laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great lightweight laptop. It was very easy to set up. The speakers sound good. Surfing on the web was quick, very responsive keyboard. Was able to load all of my programs with ease. I did a light buzzing sound, I’m guessing it was the fan. Otherwise, great machine.

Ok computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I exchanged my surface for this laptop and immediately didn’t like my decision..the laptop is ok but for some reason i prefer the surface, maybe because of the clarity of the screen.

Fantastic laptop for school and business
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a week with the laptop, I think it's fantastic. It's fast, it's sleek, and it lasts a while. The battery lasted me about a day and a half with just very light computing such as note taking or business stuff. That's about what you should expect for a laptop such as this. The pen can be better though. It might just be me not having as much experience using a 2-in-1, but using the pen is very awkward. I have to press on the screen hard enough to make the pen write darker, it feels really awkward. As I said, might just be me, but that's what I noticed the most. The keyboard keys feel a bit cheap with very little travel, but since it's a compact laptop, it's not that bad. It just doesn't feel good to type on. Overall, it's a solid laptop. The design is simple and very clean.

keyboard unreliable!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like all newish computers, Samsung Notebook 9 keyboard too sensitive, resulting in way too many mistakes for an experienced user like me w/ over 40 years of professional computer use. Could be due to Microsoft & Google programs, as well as Samsung computer. Geek squad unable to do anything. Seems to be a result of tech "giants" doing more for themselves than for their customers. "Giants" need new business model and/or more government regulation.

Good but not best value

Great laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung Notebook 9 Pro uses Windows 10 Home version, has an intel Core i7 8th Gen processor, has a 13.3” FHD Touch screen, 8G RAM, comes with an Active Pen. Out of the box it was packed well and very sturdy within the box. Not thrilled that there was a tiny little Quick Start Guide instead of a user’s guide to help you thru some of the options it comes with. You can download the user manual, but it is pretty large (109 pages) but useful to read through. Comes with AC power adapter, fully charge the computer before you begin using it. Doesn’t take too long to charge and it has held a charge for 2 days of usage – pretty good in my book comparing it to my HP Notebook. Also has 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports that you can use as a power port as well as the USB-C port. A Thunderbolt 3 port can be used to connect a wide range of peripheral types to your computer. Has an Earpiece/Headset jack, Memory card slot, Power button/Fingerprint recognition sensor. The computer automatically turns on when you open it, if it doesn’t you can push the power button on the side. Initially you will go thru your set up and may have to change the date/time. This can be used as a laptop or a tablet by folding it all the way back. It is very sturdy either way. My observations…. Like Cortana and her interaction when needed! The set up was easy and I was able to sync to my other computer and phone via a link. Also, set up a PIN like my other computer and phone for security purposes. I found it a little awkward to open the laptop, just wasn’t an easy grasp and open, and it is a little heavy with sharp edges. It doesn’t open full screen which I was a little disappointed with, there is a 1” black strip along the bottom where SAMSUNG logo is. The screen resolution is beautiful though – both text and picture/video. Fast processor and long-life battery. I seem to lose my wi-fi-connection at times though and haven’t figured out why?? I am pleased so far with the speed, usability, resolution and have some learning to do with the active pen but looking forward to drawing and writing over some documents. Click the start button for lots of great apps and add-ons that were already installed.

Crap - do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Came without the advertised pen. Samsung doesn't carry a replacement. No one carries a compatible model. Best Buy, which I paid for 3 years ins for, and Samsung still unresponsive after 6 mos.

The perfect follow up for the original!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop fills in all of the gap that the original Notebook 9 pro left! It is just slightly heavier (you can not feel the difference with both in your hand), just a touch thinner, slimmer bezels, better guts (especially the quad core processor), and better battery than the old Pro! This also beats out the Macbook Pro (with touch bar) in every way there is! The keyboard is the only thing that you have to get used to as it is a short travel keyboard and when you begin to hit the keys, you will thing you hit them when you actually just grazed it! This is something that you will move on from after a few days! Excellent laptop and the perfect alternative to the Macbook Pro for Windows users!

Fantastic computing power, Great screen, battery
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 13.3" computer is amazing and I enthusiastically recommend it. Build, Aesthetics and Size: The fully aluminum case is solid and attractive. It feels very well built with no "loose" or floating plastic parts. I really like how thin the bezel is around the screen, which also cuts down on the overall size. The overall width is about 1/4" less than other similar laptops, and over 1/2" less in depth. Not much, but I appreciate the smaller profile. The rim around the outside has diamond cut grooves that I find quite attractive. I like that these grooves also give a little grip when carrying or when opening the screen. I think this is a very attractive notebook. Hardware and Computing Power: The "Whiskey Lake" Intel i7-8550U processor is a step up in performance from last year's model. The computer is fast. It fully boots up in around 15 seconds. I did a simple benchmark with UserBenchmark and overall this PC scored better than 92% of other computers with the exact same hardware, so Samsung is doing something right in how they build these notebooks. The same can be said of the 256GB SSD. It performed very well under the test. It comes with 8GB DDR3 RAM, but it is not user upgrade-able and I wish it had 16GB. It's also curious to me that Samsung opted for DDR3 vs DDR4 which would be a little faster. Screen: The screen on this notebook is fantastic. It's 1080p, so not the highest resolution out there, but the screen is extremely sharp and bright. The screen brightness impressed me, especially for a laptop that boasts a respectably long battery life. Perhaps the biggest negative of the laptop is the integrated GPU. While it certainly is adequate for all productivity tasks, the 3D benchmark test was really low. Keyboard: The keyboard keys are spaced well and I find it easy to type on (I have smaller hands though). I do wish the keys traveled a bit further than they do. Battery Life: The notebook has respectable battery life. With the screen brightness at 70% I looped an HD movie to test how long the battery would last. It lasted 10hrs 45min before the battery reached 5% critical hibernate mode. I think this is quite good and will last all day assuming the computer isn't being used 100% of the time. Charging is also quite fast. Speakers: The speakers are respectable, but nothing special. I tested all of the USB-C ports with an adapter. Output to HDMI and USB-A devices was fast and didn't have any setup issues etc. I love USB-C! Overall I love this notebook.

Love this laptop.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My older 15.5 inch HP laptop was having issues and was heavy and ackward to pull out from my table next to my sofa. My husband took my first Samsung 13.5 because he loves Samsung and wanted to sync it with his Samsung phone. This one is all mine. It fits perfectly on my shelf and is so light I can lift it easily. The finish is a brushed aluminum look, no plastic. The edges remind me of the old 1950’s chrome kitchen tables with the little groves. I plugged it in and it charges very quickly. The setup was quick. It does have a printed quick start guide which was helpful because there is a fingerprint sensor option that I didn’t notice till I looked at the manual. Because I missed that button, I skipped setting up the fingerprint ID. I can always go back later if I decide to. Samsung still loads too much of their software on ALL their products to suit me and that is true of this laptop. Windows 10 is still there and I still don’t like it. This laptop works well with it however. I love the tablet mode and it works nicely to sit on my lap and do editing on my photos. I miss the dvd drives and USB ports but was introduced to the type C ports on this one. I still use software with dvds and jump drives. Fortunately my husband had a type C card reader with the USB port so I could still load my Family Tree Maker software. The screen display is crisp and clear, but I notice a bit of “softness” in some of the apps. Photos looked nice. My favorite thing is the ability to very easily mirror my laptop to my new 82” Samsung TV to view my photos, or even look at Facebook with my husband from the sofa. I love the size and the ease of converting to tablet or traditional computer mode. This might be my favorite laptop ever! May take awhile to load all my photos on it, but it’s a work in progress.
