This little guy has become my favorite new gadget in the house. I'm not really sure why I waited so long to enter the automated home vacuum space, but I'm so glad I did. The POWERbot R7040 is a very impressive piece of machinery. It can find its way out of tricky situations, follows its own path very well, and picks up ALOT of dust and dog hair. My floors used to be steadily covered in dog hair but now with this thing sweeping consistently, my floors are looking and feeling great! It finds its charging station on its own and once it recharges it heads back out to do more work. The only downside I would say to the product is the noise. It is fairly loud, but not louder than a normal vacuum. But you definitely know when it's running. I haven't had a ton of time to tinker with it, but I'm curious to see if it can be programmed to run at night while sleeping. The dog loves it too because it's a moving toy. She barks at it whenever it comes to life from its sleep mode. So far I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to everyone I know. I never knew I would enjoy it so much, but I really love having one.

Ok. Let me tell you something. This is an amazing little robot called PowerBot that cleans your house. During the initial use I was not happy with it however things changed once I learnt more about the PowerBot. To talk about a few things BEST FEATURE: 1. the Powerbot finds its charging cradle on it's own when it is low on charge and attaches itself to recharge 2. Wireless charging 3. You can schedule when you want the PowerBot to start cleaning 4. Control powerbot functionality with smartphone app. The only thing you need its clean the powerbot. 5. Cleaning brush and dirt bag are very easy to attach and detach and super easy to clean. 6. Amazing sensing power. It senses the edges so it won't fall down from stairs or edges if you have any. 7. 2 cleaning modes silent and high power What I Like 1. Self navigation to charging cradle 2. Schedule charging 3. 1hr of cleaning on silent mode 4. Works with Alexa 5. Compared to others very silent What I don't like 1. On high power loses charging in 30 min 2.Sometimes it doesn't suckup easy stuff from the carpet 3. Will not get into hard places due to thick design Will I recommend YES YES I will definitely recommend this powerbot. Who won't like their rooms clean when you wake up in the morning. No more heavy lifting traditional vacuum cleaners.

I have 5 cats and 2 dogs,I need this! I was skeptical at first but the PowerBot was awesome, it picks up pet hair and stickers that my pets drag in from outside. as you see from the pictures, it managed obstacles like chairs and other items in the way. it got hung up on the chair but figured it out and kept on going. My animals just watch it as it moves around, no riding yet, LOL. it is quiet which i like very much and it cleans the living room and kitchen in one charge. It tried to clean the bedrooms also but ran out of charge, so i put back on charger before finishing the other rooms. all in all i am very happy with my POWERbot . I did have to empty the dust bin multiple times at first, but as I use it every day I think it will not fill up as fast. I am reviewing as part of the Insiders program

I did a ton of research on vacuums and couldn’t find hardly any info on the new Samsung models like this one and the 7070. I had it for about 2 weeks, it did a pretty good job, the navigation was good on it, battery would only last about 35 minutes on it and a few times it didn’t make it to the base to recharge so I would get home and it was like hide and seek. I ended up getting the neato D80 and it does an awesome job. I realized that I don’t need WiFi on it, it would tell me it’s stuck while I’m at work, doesn’t do me much good since I’m at work... the d80 is awesome for sure.

This is the first robot vacuum I have ever owned, easy to setup and link to my network. Has remote or you can setup to Samsung connect app. It has adequate suction, initial bin got filled quickly with plenty of lint under my bed and on the first run around the floor. Also like the fact that the app shows you a path the vacuum took around the floors. At times it has difficulty going from wood floors to thick rugs or light weight mats. It has no problem finding it's way back to the charging base.

Life Just Got A Whole Lot Easier

Samsung has upped the game for robotic vacuums with its POWERbot R7040. I will admit that before I got the POWERbot, I sort of thought the whole smart vacuum thing was a bit gimmicky. That idea quickly changed the minute I emptied it the first time, so much so that I purchased my second POWERbot (for upstairs) through The Insiders program.  Our home is a mixture of wood, tile, and carpet and the POWERbot works beautifully on all three surfaces. Typically I run the vacuum on normal, but occasionally after my kids have run in and out of the house and tracked dirt and sand everywhere, I up the suction to Turbo and delight in clean floors while I take care of actually being a parent and spending time with my family. The vacuum was very easy to connect to my Samsung Hub, and from there I was able to set up a schedule for it to run every day while we are gone. Based on the coverage maps the app provides, it appears to be able to clean the entire first floor on two charges, but I believe it goes back out a third time just to catch spots it misses. It is really cool how, no matter where it is, it starts making its way back to the charging station when the battery is running low. The charge time to full is pretty fast, but again it is cleaning my house during the day while we are at work and school. Another amazing feature is the shape and design which allows it to get right along the walls and baseboards and trim beautifully. Samsung highlights the POWERbots edging technology, and they should because it was always annoying to change the attachments in order to clean underneath kitchen cabinets. With the POWERbot it is no longer a worry. While this is not a feature that Samsung would advertise, it is also awesome to watch people interact with the vacuum. My parents and in-laws are fascinated with it. I have found them talking to the vacuum cleaner commenting on the choices of cleaning path it made or how well it is doing cleaning the house. As an individual who has invested in all types of smart technology I can honestly say that this is the one device that has truly lived up to everything that smart technology is supposed to do…make life easier. Life is simply better when your house is clean, which is difficult to do with two young kids, so thank you Samsung!

I had an older Roomba that did a random pattern and often missed spots. This Samsung works great. Good suction and picks up a lot of dust and animal fur (I have wood floors). It always finds its way back to the charging base without any real hiccups. The tracking software it uses seems to work really well also...never leaves any spots untouched. Plus it's great that the app shows the movement history...so you can see if certain areas aren't cleaned or cause issues. I have noticed it seems to get stuck on things my old Roomba just pushed through (usually my kids foam puzzle mat which is about 3/4" to an inch thick). Also, you really need to empty the catch bin at least every two days...if not daily. I definitely like this vacuum though and hope to keep it a long time.

The battery life is very good. I'm used to working with a stick vaccume with 20 minutes or less of battery life and the Samsung PowerBot R7040 Will clean a large room before running back for a recharge. For my family room, I let the PowerBot run until it was depleated and return to the charger. Once I got to work I was then able to restart once it recharged with the phone app so the room was done when I returned home. It can go from hard wood to area rugs with little or no effort. It climbed over threshold strips with ease. Prior experience with a robotic vaccume left me wondering with all the stuff it steered around or couldn't navigate, how much rug was actually cleaned? It does get stuck on occasion in between table. And chair legs and can move clumsy along the baseboard heating but it did eventually have the room mapped and it all worked out. The PowerBot didn't seem to pick up a lot of pet hair at first but every time I ran the Bot the dirt compartment was always full. With having pets I found it beneficial to run the Bot daily for best results. 2 out of 3 cats give It two paws down because when it starts running, they go hide. The Bot does get clogged with heavy pet hair cleaning but unclogging it is very easy and user friendly with the pop up reservoir.

This vacuum does the job as expected. It comes with a remote control that is very convenient. I took one star off due to the device having issues returning back to the charging station; it thinks that my washer machine is the station (I use the remote to bypass that area). It does the job like a normal regular vacuum. I recommend this product.

overall great vacuum and very smart. I absolutely love it. A couple things to know when you first use it: 1. Connecting to the app can be finicky. I literally did the same thing 9 times receiving different failures each time. Then suddenly it worked. I am very tech savvy and it wasn't user error. Once connected it is great! Just frustrating. 2. The vacuum has to completely clean a room on auto before it learns for next time. The first round is a little wacky and if it gets stuck or errors out because it sucked up something bad, the process starts over. Also if you turn it off by the switch underneath it clears the memory too. Each new time it cleans then room it will take a long time. (For me, about 60 mins) Afterward it's a lot shorter ( 39 mins). 3. Each fully successful time it finishes on auto it displays the area coverage map in the history section of the app. If unsuccessful it will not show the map. If the battery runs out before finished it will charge and resume where it left off and eventually show the map only it you don't interfere.

Got this as a free gift with my appliance purchase so I didn't have any expectations what so ever. This is also my first smart vaccum and I must say that I am very impressed. It took about 20 mins to clean 1 room but it did an excellent job and you can also use a low setting to keep the noise down.

Battery only stays charged for about 45 min of vacuuming, therefore it cannot do our entire main floor in one charge which is about 1200 sq ft. The sensors for moving around the room are pretty good. We have a dog that sheds and it seems to pick up a good amount off the surface of the carpet but doesn’t get down deep. Regular vacuuming is still necessary for that. It operates well with Alexa to start and turn off and it can be programed to start at the same time each day which is nice. We got this free with the purchase of two other Samsung appliances but I would not have paid $499 for it which I believe was the retail price. Around $100 seems more appropriate. I only would recommend this if you have a small area you want cleaned and have a pet or something that requires daily surface vacuuming.

    Gets Dog Fur!!!

I purchased this about two months ago, in hopes of taming the amount of dog fur my Border Collie / Lab mix leaves on the floor. This did the trick! Every day it runs and picks up the dog fur from the floor. It amazes me how the carpet can look clean before it runs, but still fills up the bin with fur. It, of course, also small debris without a problem. Also like how it uses logic to map out the best route to clean the room, and sticks to it's plan... making nice, straight lines that resemble the pattern an upright would use (vs it's competitor which literally just slams into walls and turns and goes until it slams into another wall). When the Samsung approaches a wall, it slows down, so it doesn't slam into it... it gently nudges up to it, then increases the suction and lowers an Edge cleaner to really pull debris from the crevice between the carpet and baseboard. Also, with the brush / suction being at the front of the unit, it really gets along walls and baseboard well. Some competitors have the brush / suction located in the middle of the unit, between the wheels, leaving a few inches from the edge of the unit to the cleaning surfaces. They use a horizontal spinning wisp of brushes to hopefully knock debris to where the cleaning brushes / suction are. That may work on hard surfaces, but not really on carpet. So with the Samsung having the brushes / suction at the front (similar to an upright), it actually cleans the edges of the room. Overall, an amazing unit for a good price.

If you are in the market for a Robot vac but don't want to pay $900 for the advanced features of the high end Roombas than look no further. For $350 this little guy uses mapping to methodically vacuum an entire floor of my house. If it does not finish within a charge it will go back to its base, charge back up and then finish the job. It Can be controlled by a remote, an app on your phone, or using an Amazon Echo. Once it's done clean g you get an image sent to your phone with a map of its cleaning path. All the bells and whistles of the ultra expensive models without the premium price and made by a high end electronics company. Best bargain in this category by far.

I have officially replaced my old robot floor cleaner with this Samsung POWERbot R7040 and what a difference. I loved my old cleaner simply because I hated vacuuming up the constant pet hair. But the it always had battery issues and would randomly go on a beeping frenzy to clean the empty tray. This lead me to banishing it to the garage when not in use and also to looking for a better option. So now I welcome Samsung POWERbot R7040 to the family, or as we call it Samo7000. The POWERbot does an outstanding job and has a great suction power for our needs. They do have other models with increased suction power or battery life, so see what model works for you. When it comes to cleaning is seems to map the room and follow a path to make sure it hits all the spots. A efficient way to run considering other brands just bounced around until they got almost everything. The bin was big enough for my who house and supper easy to empty. If it over stuffs the bin the first time just tweak how often you run it. Another great feature on the bin was the washable filter, which saves you from buy endless filters for your robot. Other great features are you can control it via a remote or simply use your cellphone via the Samsung Things app. The app is pretty cool as it makes scheduling a breeze, run a spot or the main clean, shows a map of everywhere the bot went, and heck you can even drive it. It takes 3 charges to clean vacuum my whole house, but it knows where it left off after taking itself back to the charging station. Only thing my old vacuum bot did better was it could do my house in 2 charges. If you are new to floor robot vacuums I totally suggest looking into the Samsung POWERbot line.

    Kinda like a personal assistant

Once again, my skeptic tenancies were proven wrong with the Powerbot. I honestly thought it was going to be a gimmicky thing that would in no way replace my current vacuum but my husband wanted to try it out so I went ahead and "took the plunge." Firstly, I have not used my standard vacuum since I got the Powerbot not too long ago. I can put it on a schedule DIRECTLY FROM MY PHONE from anywhere in the world via the SmartThings app; not to mention it is compatible with Google assist and Alexa. It has a ton of sensors that sense baseboards, obstructions, and "Cyclops"(my kids named it) quickly learns his surroundings and develops an general floorplan the more he cleans. By the way, it has a Cyclone force wall so that's why my kids named it Cyclops. I must also say, I have a ton of stairs in my home of three levels; I just knew this thing was going to "cyclone" right down the stairs sooner or later ---- well that has not and won't likely happen as my Powerbot has all these sensors that really prevent it from such a fall. It would be nice to have some of those of my own! I also have the ability to create boundary walls, to stop him from going into places I don't want him, I can auto command spot cleaning either from my remote (yes it even comes with a remote!) or directly from my phone just by pointing to the spot I want to clean. He even learned how to hop right onto my area rug, my carpet, and my hardwood floors just after the first time I turned him on. My husband has gotten to the point where it is an event in the house when the Powerbot is running because it's like we have this assistant that cares about dirt, dust, and crumbs all over the floor and with three kids we get plenty of that! One last thing --- this is truly a SMART bot. It senses exactly what the problem is whenever it encounters one. For example, its awesome suction sucked up a tiny little trinket toy of my daughters. I then got a notification on my phone that a "foreign object" was in the Bot; so then I went and removed it, and he went back to his normal routine. This is almost a personal assistant for us! If anyone were wondering what difference the Powerbot makes, just take it from me ---- I am a mom who ran her vacuum cleaner ever single day. I have not touched it ONCE since getting the Powerbot. Case closed!

I had an awesome opportunity as a Samsung Insider to test out this product and I have now owned this vacuum for several weeks. I have been amazed by home much I have used it. I will be honest and say that I didn't think this would do the job for my house, but boy was I wrong. We are a family of 5 with tons of foot traffic throughout the main level of our home and with 3 little ones it's extremely hard to keep up with vacuuming each week. When we first got the vacuum, it took a little bit to understand how it all works, but once we read through the directions it was simple to get it moving. It's not perfect, but we clean up and turn it on every evening now. It's so convenient to have something like this it's crazy. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a 1500 sq. ft or less property. It will take care of cleaning that you wish you did every day!
