I opened the box and was SUPER excited about trying this new powerbot. I love the sleek design and how easy it was to set up. The instructions were very easy to understand. The powerbot has great suction and picks up on carpets/floors even the smallest piece of debris. Once I was done using the robot I was surprised at HOW much dirt was on my floor, when I clean all the time. My complaints are - the robot is very loud, almost as loud as a traditional vacuum. The part that holds the dirt fills up very easily and the machine gets confused sometimes when heading home. Overall this was a GREAT machine and I would recommend it to family and friends. I was very excited to review this Powerbot on behalf on the Samsung Insiders Community!

This is our second Samsung POWERbot. We replaced the first one POWERbot R7070) after 2 years. This POWERbot does a good job of picking up dust and dirt and so far it has been gentle with our furniture. The bin for the vacuumed dirt is a little smaller than our first and sometimes requires emptying between episodes of vacuuming on a given day. Two continuing issues for both POWERbots: It frequently gets lost on its way back to the docking station, even when close by, and the smartphone app is all-but-impossible to set up. In general we are satisfied with the performance of this POWERbot but will be watching for the same probems which developed in our R7070. Some background on the problems our first POWERbot :It began having some issues after 1 year (crashing into furniture instead of avoiding it); after experiencing some runaround from Samsung, they finally offered to repair it for free and it was fine for a few months and then began having the same problem again. We finally decided it was not worth spending money and time trying to get it repaired a second time. We replaced it with a different model Samsung because it got a very high rating in Consumer's Report.

OK Robot Vacuum - Has Some Serious Flaws

Overall, the R7065 robot vacuum is a good machine, but has some flaws that lower the rating. First, the good: * The vacuum is very powerful. It can clean the floors very well, both carpet, tile, and wood. * The vacuum is small enough to fit under most furniture. * The cleaning pattern it follows is pretty good. It generally covered about 80% of the floor space during a cleaning. Not sure why the other 20% wasn't "mapped" by the software. For the flaws: * There is no handle on the vacuum. If it dies or you need to pick it up to move it, it isn't as easy as it should be. * It is hard to know when it is charging after it "dies" off the base. What I learned is that when the device stops off base for whatever reason, when you place it back on the base, it doesn't start charging unless you hold the "play" button down waking the machine up. It should just start charging when you place it on the base station. * The app needs some work. For example, if you want to schedule the vacuum to automatically clean on weekdays only, the app can't do that. You can schedule a cleaning once or daily. You can't create a custom schedule selecting the days you want the vacuum to clean. The app is missing very basic functionality. * Finally, the biggest flaw and failure of the vacuum is the way you have to use magnets strips if you need to block off part of the floor not to clean or need to indicate stairs so the vacuum doesn't fall down them. What Samsung expects you to do it put a magnet "tape", they call them boundary markers, along the border of these areas. So if you want to stop the vacuum from going down a hall-way, you have to put a magnet tape across the hallway entry. How tacky having magnet strips all over your floors. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Look at my photos for what this magnet tape looks like. Samsung should have developed a sensor that could be used to control where the vacuum goes. In a nutshell, the robot vacuum itself is a solid product. However, the app, no handle and ridiculous way boundary markers are used makes this a no go robot vacuum for me.

Seems to do a good job

I read many reviews that were somewhat mixed, as it seems all reviews on anything are, but consumer reports had given it a very good rating. It seems to do a good job both on my carpet and hard floor. Adjusts appropriately. As in the reviews it will occasionally get stuck and I will have to rescue it, particularly going over the floor registers, I haven’t tried connecting to the internet yet but I am home when I turn it on and it is no effort to walk over to the robot and touch the on button. Nor have I used the remote yet. I thought all the smart connections would be fun to use, but I have discovered they aren’t necessary. I was able to get the 7065 powerbot at an amazing price. The store priced matched the online clearance price. Made my mind up to purchase this particular one when I got the price I did.

If all you are interested in is a vacuum that excels at the cleaning parts, this is a great machine, but buyer beware........ I replaced an old generation iRoomba with this vacuum. What I liked: 1. It cleans wonderfully. Has a corner suction deal that works as it should. 5star 2. It's quieter than the iRoomba. Considering that cost and general level of tech improvements this is to be expected. 5star 3. Climbs over rungs on hardwood floors like a pro. A big deal.5star 4. There are other positive things but the bottom line is that it does clean wonderfully. 5star for this part. What I hate (note that this is not dislike): 1. My iRoomba of 6 years ago had an invisible wall. Inconspicuous, easy to set up and could be left in place. The Samsung comes with a 4 foot roll of magnetic tape that is supposed to be permanently applied to flooring to steer the Samsung away. If you logically think that you can just lay it on top of the floor and move it around.......think again. 1 star 2. My solution to #1 is to physically block the Samsung from other rooms. If we were talking brand new tech and this is the price you pay, I could live with that. Since the tech already exists you have to ask the question.....Why do this? 1 star 3. Supposedly this Samsung is programable. I tried but they fell into the trap of relying on the Technical people to design a system which makes sense to the technical folks, but no one else. 1 star 4. Technical support was pathetic. I asked what to do with the 4 foot section of magnetic strip and was put on hold and then given an unclear answer. 1 star Bottomline: I would not recommend to a friend. If I had to do over I would get the iRoomba at a similar price. Though I am very pleased at the cleaning the Samsung does why do they take two steps backwards on existing technology?

Vacuum is easy to set up and the unit works great on carpet and hardwood. I believe one of the items mentioned in a "professional" on line review of the vacuum stated the unit can navigate the tassels on carpeting, it can to a degree. Our unit gets tangled I carpet tassels the has to go backwards to untangle itself from the tassels. It was successful in disengaging every time but I believe these entanglements probably are not good for the vacuum and are definitely not good for the rug. The unit does navigate ssuccessfully from carpeting or rugs (without tassels) to hardwood and back.

The vacuum has good suction power and can do pattern sweeping. It is able to sweep in dark area, like underneath the bed with the room light off. It can be controlled by remote control or smart phone. Some minor issues are: sometimes the smart phone app will say the vacuum control is locked by remote control; sometimes the vacuum will get stuck when trying to get off the home base due to the base clearance; the smart phone app did not show the sweeping map from the history record.

I was surprised how well it cleans fairly quiet runs about 90 minutes between charges.one point is it needs a bigger dust bin where the dust and dirt are deposited.all in all a good buy and good quality.

I got the Samsung Powerbot as part of the Insiders program and received the product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. Still, I was worried that the POWERbot™ R7065 Robot Vacuum would fall down the staircase. It did not! It also slowed down so as not to hit walls, furniture, exercise equipment. It precisely got to tight spots I can't get to myself. The wheels would raise and drop to get under furniture even a low sofa and complicated coffee table. It could turn around in circular areas and yet line up straight as a ruler for linear spaces. On the lowest setting it could handle plush medium pile wall-to-wall carpeting and tight weave low pile rug both under 1cm. It even re-calibrated while moving backwards into a low sofa when it could fit frontwards. I love my POWERbot and watching it cleaning as if it was a pet while I sit back reading a magazine. I am keeping it and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I found this vac to be neat. The app integration works great with Smarthings. The only issue I have is that maps a room a little too sporadic. Other than that, the suction speeds work great. The lowest setting is not very loud. Just turn it on and let it do its work.

Purchased this vacuum because it was highest rated on Consumer Reports and the reviews other places were good. Plus it wasn't an exorbitant price. Performance of the vacuum was good...I was particularly impressed with the drop-down edge cleaning tool. It worked as advertised. Also had no trouble navigating under my dining room table and buffet. I only ended up returning it because the Neato Botvac D7 now has not only virtual no-go lines but also has the ability to save multiple floor plans. This model probably cleans a little better than the Neato, but I really need the virtual no-go lines with a kids' playroom that is constantly a mess and and two floors that I want to clean efficiently with one robot vacuum.

This is my first robot vacuum we have a very open floor plan with side rooms everywhere 3400 aft downstairs and I must say I am impressed . There are no problems do navigate from room to room the station is in a corner and he find his way home Without problems the dirt container it’s very easy to clean and the brush also over all I would give them a five but sometimes he is a little bit confused and wants to clean rooms two times

    QUIET, EFFECTIVE IN OPEN SPACES

I bought this to save myself time in household upkeep. CONS: I had a hard time locating an outlet where the thing could be docked and have plenty of space for it to find its way out and into the room to clean. It wanders all over the place, but gets stuck around dining room chair and table legs, repeating the same area over and over. And over. So, overturn the chairs onto the dining table to eliminate the forest of legs. While it navigates changes in floor to carpet, fringe on the oriental rug gets trashed, and bits of cotton fiber from it are deposited on the carpet. PROS: VERY QUIET. No problem talking on the phone in the same room. Doesn't terrify my dog. Does a great job in a wide open room of 14x14, so I block off other rooms and let it do kitchen only, or family room only, or bathroom only (first picking up all dog toys, turning up chairs, etc.). Great in corners and edges of hard floors. Picks up dog hair I can't even see. Dust bin easy to empty. If you're looking for something to eliminate housecleaning, forget it. But it does mean I only pull out the vacuum once every 2 weeks, use this for touchup in between.

I have tried many different IRobot Brand vacuums and never really liked them. I have two dogs that shed so I needed a good vacuum to help with that. This Samsung one has been the best one I've tried. The pet hair gets picked up very well, especially off of hard wood floors and it does a pretty good job on carpet too. It has different settings for the suction power which is nice too. I works well with our Amazon Dot/Alexa App too! Highly recommend this vacuum.

Awesome product. Have used for a week on my first floor, going from hard wood to carpet. Does a great job and connects well with my Smartthings System. My one issue is the limitation with voice commands and that you can not send it to a specific place. Otherwise, the vacuum part really does a good job of cleaning up.

Does a great job of picking up dog hair every day. We bought this about 2 months ago and just did a regular vacuum and found that the main places that the Samsung did not pickup were behind doors and under some cabinets that are too low for it to get underneath. We only use it under low power and it does a good job on both hardwood floors and rugs. My wife was leery of us getting one, and has been thoroughly satisfied.

Great on tile floors and with pet hair! We run it a couple times a week and love the results of a cleaner home. Things that can be improved: it’s loud, too loud to run while we sleep. It runs even if the dirt container is not in place - so it will blow dirt everywhere if the container is not secure. It seems to randomly vacuum throughout the house, no rhyme or reason of the path from day to day.
