I had an IPhone and I don't text and didn't need all the bells and whistles and I had a Samsung Rugby before and I liked it so I went back to the Rugby.

Since I didn't see one before I ordered it. So, I didn't get to try it enough to see until after the return (15 days) were up because I work a Graveyard shift.

I have been through a lot of phones and I was looking for one that was durable and built to last. I searched around AT&T's site for a bit and came across the Samsung Rugby 3. I am glad that I decided on this phone for a number of reasons. One reason I wanted this phone was because of the physical buttons. The audio quality is great and the phone feels solid in my hand. It feels more solid and durable than most of the smart phones out these days. For the most part, my calls have stayed connected, but any time the call has been dropped, it was the other person's cell phone service. The 1.3 megapixel camera is not that great, but I do not use it much. Overall, I am happy with this device except for a software issue that needs to be fixed. I recommend this product.

I had this phone for 4 years as a work phone. I only had to plug it in twice a week call quality and speaker sound was loud enough for a warehouse environment. The phone was very rugged and being a maintenance guy this phone held up to being dropped off ladders and other high locations

This phone was wrecked within a week of when I received it. The screen is bleeding/doesn't work, and it freezes constantly. I didn't abuse it - just threw it in my backpack for my morning bike ride to work.
It's also impossible to do anything with this phone except make phone calls. Sending texts or browing the web are both a pain in the neck, or next to impossible. This is basically technology from 10 years ago. I was issued this phone for work, and want to throw it away.

Emergency calls only

I have had this phone for almost 2 years. Every now and then it loses its connection; the phone's SIM card is not recognized, and it says "Emergency Calls Only." It requires a hard reset (e.g. remove the battery and then put it back) and mostly it will come back to life. THIS IS MY THIRD Rugby 3. I returned the first two under warranty for this exact problem. I got the third one, and it does the same thing, but the warranty has run out. When it is in this mode, no one can text or call you. It does seem durable. Texting on it is a PITA, but mostly I use it as a phone, so if it worked reliably I would have been happy with it. BTW, I live in a town -- not in an area with marginal cell service.

Love this phone, if you are wanting just a phone to talk and do not text or need a data plan then this is it! It is hard to find a good phone that doesn't have a bunch of stuff on it that you do not use or want and is reasonably priced. Some of us would like to find a nice phone that we can just make our calls, keeps our contacts and we can clearly hear our conversations. Well so far this has been a great phone for that, I haven't found anything that I don't like about it and it does have some nice features. Finally found the one!

Great phone for my active husband. He is an outdoorsman and is constantly on the move. With a good belt pouch, this phone is perfect for his use.

A good phone for clumsy hands. It's great not having to worry about breaking it when I accidentally drop it.
