Bought this as a second monitor, was the cheapest 24 inch monitor I could find. I didn't notice how bad white images and general image quality was until I had it side by side with a much more expensive monitor. I thought maybe my cable was the issue but it was not. If you are not comparing image quality with a higher end monitor then it would be ok, but now I notice the bad image quality all the time.

Given the choice, I would have rated this monitor 4.5 stars; it is better than good, but not quite excellent. So, what are the good points? The price is a perfect place to start. At less than $160.00 this monitor is not cheap, but it is far from expensive. For that reasonable price you get a very nice, and clear image on a screen that is significantly larger than on my 16" MacBook Pro. A bigger screen was my motivation for purchasing a monitor, the image quality more than meets my needs. If you are a gamer of an avid photographer you might want something more; this image quality is just right for me. Another nice quality is that the monitor comes with a variety of cables for connection to your computer. The only caution here is that you should be sure that your computer has the necessary input. You might need an adapter. Flexible is an adjective one might use to describe this product. It is easy to adjust the height and viewing angle. And you can even swivel the screen to a vertical position if you like. OK, maybe flexible is the wrong word to use, but screen position is definitely adjustable. Nice! Some assembly is needed. You must attach the stand to the monitor. Fortunately, that was an easy and intuitive process. The assembly instructions were pictograms which were next to worthless. The good news is that the monitor comes with the Owner's Manual on a CD. Finding the manual on the CD is an other story. The CD menus were as clear as mud. The better news is that you can find the manual on Samsung's web site. If assembly is so intuitive, why is the manual a factor in this review? Simply because operating and adjusting the monitor is not quite as intuitive as assembly. For example, when I wanted to try out the integrated speaker I went to my music library to play a song. I know the music was playing, but so quietly that it could barely be heard. Once I checked the manual I discovered how to adjust the volume. That helped! Speaking of speakers, this one is not so great. I get a better quality of sound using those in my MacBook. Yes, I've made more negative comments than one might expect to find in a 4-Star review. Yet, I believe that this monitor's qualities outweigh the negative. After all, I was looking for a good quality image at a reasonable price. That is exactly what I found!

I purchase it as a 2nd monitor and it was not even close to the quality of my HP monitor. The color and picture quality was not good. It looked like a cheap knock off.. I was very disappointed.

Bad viewing angles, texts so blurry, returned after first try, never have a good experienced with Samsung monitor.
