Really enjoyed this system since I installed it 5 days ago. No issues to date. Works as advertised. Have not tried the professional monitoring yet. Pros: -Excellent build quality, feels like a pricey system -Relatively easy to set up, took me about 1-2hrs but I am very meticulous -Everything you need is included in starter package -Beautiful touchscreen display -Very easy to follow app -Also serves as a smartthings hub to control your whole home Cons: -Price is a bit high compared to simplisafe, adobe, scout. I was able to get it over black friday weekend for $399 which made it a solid deal. It is definitely a better deal than nest especially if you are looking to get into the whole smart home platform and do not already have a hub.

I received this free with a Samsung tv purchase, I'm glad I did not pay the full price for it! It is very basic, cool that it works without ADT monitoring, but the location settings are very buggy, support is leave a message and someone will call you back. So do you sit at home and wait? It's very limited on what it will work with. Not worth it.

Samsung makes many great products. This is Not one of them.

I love this hub. First off, I like the fact that certain components are specifically for this ADT hub. With ADT's background in security this makes me feel a little safer. I also love the fact that I can use my alarm system to trigger automations in my home. The smartthings community is awesome so if there is something that can't be done natively you can definitely find a way to do it within the community. The advantage to this hub vs just the Smartthings home monitoring is that if for some reason smartthings is down you can still arm the hub locally like you would a normal alarm system. Also, professional monitoring is completely optional. Without it the hub is still fully functional which sets it apart from other systems.

It is now useless. No longer supported by Samsung and will be unable to operate come June 2021. I wasted my money.

The Samsung ADT Home Security Kit was super easy to set up. The biggest step is making sure you have the right Samsung SmartThings app on your phone so you can sync everything together. It is easy to attach the motion detectors and door/window detectors to the system. I love being able to check the system status from my phone anywhere in the world.

As I don’t have a house means as I’m not a home owner is didn’t use that yet...

The Samsung - SmartThings ADT Home Security Starter Kit was fairly easy to install. I will say that it is very important to follow the instructions in the included guide before you attempt to guess at how it goes. The one thing I didn't find very clear was the need to scan the code on your sensors, then remove the tab in the sensors to pair. (My original understanding had been to scan and let it pair, then remove the tab.) I also struggled a little bit to figure out the sensor installation based on trim work on my doors. Other than those two issues, (which were very minor) everything else was a piece of cake! I've tested everything I installed and it all seems to be working just as it should. Overall pleased with the kit!

It has been really cool knowing everything is safe and secure around my house and also the Security Hub is pretty awesome having the Samsung + ADT Smart Home Security Starter Kit. I recently received the Samsung SmartThings Expansion Pack to review which includes even more SmartThings. The expansion pack adds leak detection, smoke detection and a carbon monoxide detector for even more protection! The new SmartThings were super easy to set up. Each one has a QR code that you scan with your phone and then you tell the app where in your house you are placing it. Very easy to do and you just add them one at a time to your Security Hub. I think the Samsung SmartThings Expansion Pack may have been easier to install than the Starter Kit actually. I was most excited about the Carbon Monoxide Alarm. I know thats weird to say I was excited but lets say its the thing I worry most about. We have a fireplace and I always just worry. That makes me happy knowing that they are all connected and we will get notified if anything happens. It also tells you where in the house the alarm is going off so if its just a battery or loose cable or something like that you will know exactly which smoke alarm it is blaring.With the devices set up in the app and the Security Hub I have everything connected at my fingertips. Its nice feeling secure in my home.

I have wanted to install a security system in my home for a while now. I also wanted to do it all on my own. So, when I was asked to be a part of the review team for the Samsung - SmartThings ADT Home Security Starter Kit I was happy to do so. This was perfect for me because I could install everything in my own time. It was so easy. Once I decided to install the system it happened quite quickly. I was able to set up the system and then install the monitors around the house in a couple hours, and that included testing. Pairing this system with an app and then using QR codes to scan each sensor made identifying and keeping track of everything simple. I just scanned the codes, installed the sensors and tested them. I even set up connection to ADT and was able to do all my testing in my own time. Using the ADT Security Hub is simple and intuitive. I was able to make any and all changes that I needed to without much use of the instructions. The app works well and I am looking for other SmartThings that I can add to it. I have some security cameras that work with the system, too and I will be adding them in as well.
