Bought a few of these to put in the cars so I could remind myself at night if I forgot to park them in the garage. This only works as long as the sensor has not gotten in range of the smartthings hub. So far so good. Am not sure how long the battery will last. That was my only concern as I’ve seen mixed reviews about battery life.

I have found this Samsung arrival sensor to be very reliable. I have set up a SmartThings routine to use the sensor to turn on and turn off motion detection on my Arlo cameras upon leaving and returning to my home. So far, it has triggered the routines as expected.

It seems to work well.
I have had it fail to work once, but then so did the mobile app, so it might be a hub issue.

I use this to unlock my front door when I get home. It doesn't always update fast enough and I end up having to unlock it manually. Caution when using this to unlock your door...if your hub goes offline and reconnects your arrival sensor may get triggered and cause the door to unlock when you do not want it to.

I had hoped to use this presence sensor with my SmartThings hub to trigger some home automation functions. However I have found that my phone is a much more effective presence sensor.
Due to the frequency that this device pings, I could be in the house for 2 minutes before the hub detects the sensor is present.
On the other hand, the hub detects my phone almost as soon as my house is in view on my street.
I can't imagine a situation where someone would need such a slow presence sensor; but for practical presence detection, I think using a phone as a presence sensor is much more applicable.
Maybe this product would be perfect for users who want to utilize presence detection to close a garage door or arm an alarm when they leave. Or to see when a child arrives home from school.

It's a little bit pricey and your mobile phone works the same, I put it on my car to open the garage door everytime I come home but it's quite slow to be identified

Got the Samsung Smartthings home security system for Christmas and followed up with a few of these for my keys. I have them to sense when I arrive home and have the system turn on my lights. I would say they work about 85% of the time. Could be better but definitely not garbage.

Utilizing this kit to supply a means to track who and when comes in to our home when no one is home. Easy to setup, but working through a variety of the "kinks". Wish I had some more time on my hands, because there are a few really cool things you can do with this product.

This is one of the best sensors I ever had, I recommend this one 100% ,small you can put it anywhere , I mostly use it inside of my sons car to know when he's home, not to give you ideas :) .

I will probably return this mainly because you can use your cell phones as a "presence" sensor which is all this device does. The only need I can see for this is if you have someone in the household that doesn't have a cellphone (or can;t load the SmartThings app on their cell). But if everyone in your household has a cell, don't bother getting this as it's unnecessary.

As I set up the device, I found that your phone can be used to do the same thing through the same settings! I'll be returning 5 of these!

Since you already have the smartthing app, the app can do the same functions as the arrival sensor. Not sure if you really need It!

So when I purchased this I was kind of new to the whole Smart Home thing and thought I would need something like this to know when I came home.
Fast forward to getting my Samsung SmartThings hub set up. I felt the Arrival Sensor was well built, definitely not a cheaply made device but also unnessacary. There is a proximity sensor you can install on any smartphone that will do the same function as the ones you place on your key chain. I did not keep the device long enough to know if the battery would last for a long time but I would imagine that it is not doing much it should last a rather long time. If I did not have a smartphone or kept all my keys on me whenever I left the house I might have kept this but given the only 3 things I have on me are my phone, wallet, and car key did not feel the need for this. Would I have kept it if not for the things I mentioned I would say I would? I hope this review helps someone make a smart decision for themself.

I really like this item and it works great with SmartThings, however, I noticed the battery wears out very quickly. If they could make a rechargeable battery or improved circuitry, this would be incredible!

I own a ton of smart home equipment and these have not been particularly useful for me personally. They work okay but sometimes have been inaccurate and the battery on these drains much faster than any of my other equipment. It might be smarter to try using your phone GPS and an app to track arrival instead.

I was hoping that I could use the arrival sensor to automatically open the garage door when I pulled into the drive way, but it is way too slow for that. Not sure if my zwave network isnt reaching far enough out to the driveway or what.
That aside, it is nice to know that my car is still in the driveway.

I now have three of these. When these work, they work reasonably well. But I have had to return twice to make the three I have work. And the last one was also headed for an exchange, but I put in a new battery and its been working well ever since. Having a dead battery in a new sensor isn't the best experience
