Required a trip to the store to have it formatted first. I'm sure I would eventually have been able to locate online the process to do this myself. But when I purchased it, I was told it was ready to just plug in and use for the purpose of an external backup drive.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a light weight great ssd drive that works on my pc and android. i use this mainly with my galaxy tablet and its embarrsing that samsung doesnt have a decent app to support it. first app samsung did recomended did not work i had to search for the right app on google app store which was easy to setup how ever there was no finger print option then the next day using it did not recgonize my password i keept trying 5 times then it accepted that made me nervous. plus the app was keep showing there is an update on ssd firmware but i had to do it on my pc...

In case of iphone transfer, unfortunately I had to buy an adapter to make it work, thats no fault on Samsung SSD. If you are an Android you have nothing to worry.

I bought it hoping it would read & write faster than my 4 year old SanDisk 500GB Extreme PRO. It was close, but the T7 was slower, so I returned it. Beyond that I'm sure it does what it's designed to do.
