I just used this for the first time to do a Time Machine backup - 300 GB - from my 2018 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1. The T7 wrote for 35 minutes and was very warm to the touch when finished. T7's USB 3.2 port is too slow when transferring from MB Pro's Thunderbolt 3.
Sandisk's Extreme Portable USB-C NVMe SSD is significantly faster.

I do not recommend this product. I bought it and after spending a couple of hours transferring data it stopped working. I took it back to the store and exchanged it for another one. 3 months later, it stopped working again and I lost all my data. This is the worst thing ever which is to trust one brand with your precious data but then they horribly fail.
I’m sorry to hear that your Samsung T7 Shield SSD did not meet your expectations. This is not the quality we expect from our products.

I bought this, Best Buy never delivered it, and they told me they wouldnt replace it and to file a police report.

I downloaded the app that is recommended for this hard drive to work and it would not recognize the item was attached. The reviews on the app are a lot of negatives stating the same thing. Ended up returning since i cant use it like i wanted with my phone on the go
