This native 4K player is without a doubt NOT overpriced, as I originally thought. The alternative player in this price range, the Phillips, is not rated as highly. The other alternative native 4K players will cost you double what the Samsung does. I had no issue with setup, and this player checked for firmware updates immediately, which it needed. The Samsung also can serve as a streaming hub, although you will not get the features and ease of use of the Roku Ultra, for example. My movies in 4K with HDR look spectacular and I have noticed no issues. I am happy with my purchase.

I purchased this after purchasing a 4K curved tv. The clarity is fantastic. It's an upgrade from standard blu-ray. It also does well upscaling blu-ray movies to 4K. The 4K movies are where it's at. Near impossible to see a single pixel.

Very easy setup. I have a Samsung 4K TV & the 4K blue ray player works very well. The picture is excellent. Don't buy cheap HDMI cable, I recommend you get Audio Quest cable . Believe me there's a diffence

Very good with a beautiful low profile design. Good remote design, easy to set up for a non-tech expert, beautiful picture quality, and connects to wifi simply and reliably. What more could you ask for?

It all started with a 4K TV. The details and colors were a huge step above our old 1080p TV. Of course that meant having to have a 4K DTV DVR and a 4K Blu-ray player. This being only the second 4K model offered (Sony had the other for much more.) that I saw on the market, I had my qualms about how well it would work and hold up. It has worked flawlessly. I use the Smart functions on this rather than the TV as the interface is easier to use. The supplied remote is the smallest and simplest I've ever seen. It controls only the player. I soon found that my home theater receiver had only 1 4K channel and had to upgrade that also to handle 60hz signal for both the 4K DTV receiver and the 4K disc player.

Beautiful crisp picture on 4K and Bluray DVDs. Easy to use. Am looking forward to getting more 4K movies, but it does a great job on regular Blurays also.

Samsung 4K, 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, all able to be played on the Samsung 8500 4K player. Everything works very well. The only thing I don't like is to fast forward the movies, you have to hold your finger on the fast forward button other wise it will skip to the next chapter.

when i went to buy this,the store only had one in stock.brought it home and hookedit up. its the best picture i have ever had on a tv.its so clear you can even see the hair on the peoples arms works great with my new4k tv

This UltraHD player was easy to set up and connect. Puts out a great picture on my 4k TV. Just make sure you purchase HDMI 2.0 for 4k quality pictures.

I bought this blu ray player because of the many positive reviews on the Best Buy website and also consumer reports. It was very easy to set up and is easy to use. It makes my old dvds look great!

This is an excellent mid-range product and a great value for the money. The remote and controls are easy to use and relatively intuitive. The picture and sound quality reproduction is excellent.

The picture quality of this 4k blu ray player is outstanding. It turns regular blu ray movies at 1080 into 4k ultra movies at 2160. Im very thrilled with this product. I would recommend it to anyone

I was able to obtain this on sale at a great price. I have only played one 4K movie so far but it was unbelievably clear. Glad I invested in 4K TV and this player. I have yet to try CD's. Have heard this may not be as good as the video so time will tell.

I purchased this 4k player to pair with my 9500 4k tv. Quality is amazing, picture is crystal clear. Regular Blu-ray movies get upscaled a tad. Only issue I've found so far is the software bugs starting out, there have been updates but it still needs some more refinement to be excellent.

The color is excellent on this tv. It is much better with a 4K DVD. It was easy to setup and use. The remote is a little smaller compared to my last ones and you have to get used to the toggle switches for the volume. I think the sound quality was good.
