The only issue would be the cost. Like most electronics with new technology, you pay to own it first. That being said, I purchased this anyway and have no regrets!

Again just the price is a drag but I'm sure price will drop soon

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The thing that is kind of a bummer is that in order to take full effect of the 4K Ultra Blu rays, you need this player. Samsung, at this time besides the Xbox One S, is the only one that plays them. Now, it does do it's job well. It really does bring out the deeper blacks an vibrant colors. The thing that needs work are the apps. I find the menu kind of a pain to navigate. The remote is also very small and kind of congested with the way the buttons are placed.

I wanted something better but there isn't any competitive 4K HD product out there as yet. So, I had to buy another one of these. Generally the picture output is excellent but the unit's software is buggy and I frequently have to reboot it. The unit has a terrible, cheap remote control, and is grossly overpriced for the quality that you get. If you can get by the shortcomings and the price - buy it for the picture but don't expect it to last.

Don't get "upscaling"

It won't take the 4-K discs nor will you get the picture quality with your 4-k TV that you spent big bucks on. Solution: get the 4-K DVD player. It also plays Blu-ray and normal DVD's with no problem. My only gripe is the remote if very small and hard to see with dim movie lighting but it does have brail on it ...bad design, great price compared to Sony and has a bunch of apps. For the record, I have a Visio 4-K TV and the Samsung 4-K DVD (NOT upscaling) works fine.
