There's not that much out there yet that will play 4K. 4K is coming more everyday. I wanted a player that was ready vs having to buy another one down the road. This one is paired with an LG OLED TV and the picture quality is spectacular. Glad I bought it.

Why black bars?

If all HD Tvs are now 16:9 aspect ratio, why are the top and bottom black bars still displayed during movie playback? It reduces my 55" TV to essentially a 48" TV. That's not what I paid for. There is no need to still have "widescreen viewing" bars on movies!

Good UHD picture and sound - worst remote ever

The remote is tiny and many buttons are difficult to press successfully. I have had better remotes on non-branded $30 DVD players. Setup was relatively easy with familiar Samsung on-screen menus. The documentation was sparse and printed on cheap paper with a gray ink and not the easiest to read.

Problems early on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I watched one movie then had to send it in for service - thankfully Samsung paid for the shipping - but normally I guess you have to pay for your in-warranty $400 DVD player to be shipped in for service even if you've only used it once! Absurd. Aside from this, however, I will say the few movies I have watched were great - picture and especially the color - was magnificent. If you're not an early adapter it's best to wait till the fall (2016) and see how much the prices fall once more 4K blue ray players hit the market.
