This Blu-Ray player does what it says it will do. I've had no problems at all with the device. I have this paired with a Samsung 4K TV. To be honest, I can't tell a great deal of difference between a standard Blu-Ray and a 4K. Not sure if the upscaling is that good or if there's that little difference in the media to begin with.

I played a 4K content blu ray and the picture was incredible

Ultra HD Blu-ray playback is the star attraction, but the UBD-K8500 is crammed full of other features. For starters you can play all of your existing Blu-ray discs and DVDs (with 4K upscaling) and although 3D isn’t part of the UHD Blu-ray spec you can play 3D Blu-rays too. It spins CDs, but not SACD or DVD-Audio. The deck also plays content from USB drives connected to the front port, including any 4K video files you have in your collection. MKV, DivX, AVCHD, WMV and JPEG are all supported. The deck offers a wide range of online apps including Netflix and Amazon Instant Video, both of which offer 4K streaming (but not HDR support). Their inclusion is welcome, but they might end up being redundant if they’re built into your 4K TV already. Also on board are Spotify, Deezer, All4 and loads more in the Samsung Apps section, but oddly there’s no BBC iPlayer or ITV Hub – these will be added with a software update. You can stream music, video and photo files from PCs and NAS drives on your home network and use screen mirroring to view a smartphone on your TV. The deck also offers 7.1-channel Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio decoding.

Samsung - UBD-K8500 4K Ultra HD Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player love the quality, just not enough content to really deal with the price.

Let's start by saying OMG!! I LOVED Blu Ray when it cannot and this 4K just takes it to the next level!! Blu ray has always had trouble with blacks or dark areas in movies not being clear or even splotchy. Not any longer!!! The 4K has completely removed that!!! This picture quality is second to none. Thank you Samsung and 4K!!!

The apps and picture and options are great! The only downside is the etflix app gives me no sound, so I have to open it on my Xbox One.

The player is great with new 4K DVDs but the improvement on Blue Ray and older standard DVDs is exceptional. We played the Star Wars the Force Awakens Blue Ray disc and it looked better than at the movie theater. Even the original Star Wars in DVD format reflected more clarity and detail. We are very happy with the new system.

Nice unit. A little pricey but I'm glad I purchased this. Took a little bit to get a UHD disc to play with the audio but it works now.

The picture quality is amazing but the menu leaves a bit to be desired. Works as intended, costs more than it should, but you don't have many options so if you need it you need it.

I have an SUHD Samsung Smart TV with Soundbar , UN65JS9000 & also HW-J7500 Soundbar with wireless 8" subwoofer & this Ultra High Dynamic HDR Blu-Ray Player makes regular blu-ray DVD'S beautiful with UHD Upscaling & 4K DVD'S pop right off the screen almost like 3D !!! "The Choice" was amazing in blu-ray with beautiful sunrises & sunsets !!! "Mad Max Fury Road " in 4K was like a movie @ the cinema with SUHD quality & HDR !!! Just go Buy it Already !!! You won't regret !!!

I purchased this player because I bought a 4k movie that was only available in 4k. I was unaware that you could play a 4k movie without owning a 4k TV. One of the Best Buy sales people told me you could and it also said it on the movie case. Best Buy only carried one 4k Blu-ray players. This player works better than I expected.

The player produces a great picture even on regular DVDs. Easy to use and looks good too.

We watched blu Ray and a 4K disc to compare. The blue ray still looked great, but the 4K movie was even richer in color and clarity.

I needed to replace my old Samsung flat screen and at the last minute decided on this model. We are so glad we did. Colors are vivid and bright. The detail and resolution is great. We've always had problems watching movies with dark scenes. Not a problem with this model. Even the dark scenes in movies have great detail and visibility.

There's a definite difference between a standard blu-ray player and the 4k. If you are the type of person that needs the best without the worst price then this is the box for you.
