I added this to my 65" HU8550 and the picture quality has definitely improved. Although I've heard it's not true HDR, there is a very noticeable difference between darks and brights now. Blacks really look deep black now. If you put the unit in demo mode, it runs a couple of the samsung HDR demo videos and they look spectacular. I've been using it for several weeks now and there are a few bugs that seem to cause problems with my Onkyo TX-NR646 receiver using HDMI ARC. First, on the positive, the Onkyo now detects the audio output from the TV over the HDMI ARC as Dolby Digital 5.1 instead of labeling it unknown. But on the downside, the audio often drops when I launch netflix so that no audio is output. This may be a bug with the netflix app, I'm not sure. The netflix and Amazon apps do not recognize the set as now supporting HDR, so that's another thing we hope gets updated. I don't like the new remote as much as the prior egg-shaped one, either. It takes more clicks to do things since many buttons have been removed. One final bug is that I was previously able to use HDMI-CEC to control my TV, Onkyo receiver, and PS3. But now when CEC is enabled, the TV seems to always start up the PS3 whenever I switch inputs (I only switch between the receiver and using the native TV apps as the PS3 is connected to the receiver). I don't know why, but it will always just send a startup command to the PS3. It was so annoying I had to disable the HDMI-CEC on the PS3. On the positive side, the new Youtube app now streams 4K content and it looks great!

The Samsung Uhd 3500 Evolution One Connect Box is a must have for your 2014-2015 UHD Samsung smart tv. For a couple of hundred dollars you can upgrade your set with 2016 technology including Hdr support. Greatly improved my picture quality.

Picture quality and clarity improved. Easy hook up. Came with new remote and interconnecting cable. It's like getting a new TV.

I would've given this 5 stars but it took 4 units and updated instruction manual to get it to work! Not to mention a Geek Squad call that only told me I had the wrong unit, which was false. Three calls to Samsung tech support there standard resolution was it's defective and return it to Best Buy for a new unit. The problem all along was the instruction manual wasn't clear and left out some steps. It now installed easily and I can now play UHD movies with no problem.

This is a nice upgrade but i feel it is too expensive and also my TV started getting slow after the upgrade.

The picture improvement was beyond what I expected even for non-4K content. The installation went well. Read and follow the directions carefully. I have a UN65HU8700.

Having updated hdmi ports & 5.1 sound across all ports using arc is a big benefit to me along with 4K YouTube! The new Tizen OS seems faster than previous version. Also see a slight upgrade in picture quality with colors and brightness...a little pricey but extends the life of my hu9000. Essential for any early Samsung 4K tv owner.

I picked up a Samsung UHD 65' curved tv back in 2014 just before the tv tech took another leap. With the current offering of 4k blu rays I thought I'd see if I could untilize the current tech and discovered I needed this evolution kit to bring my tv up to date. I was hesitant at fittest, but now that I have it I wish I had upgraded earlier. The quality picture on my tv has increased noticiabably. I can also play 4k movies from a 4k blu ray player. Much cheaper option than upgrading the whole tv. Very excellilent purchase for me and I highly recommend it.

it was very easy to get this hook up with all my equipment and really does what is to do as it updates like it is to do.I hope that samsung keep these units updated like they should.

This was a major upgrade for my TV. Not only did it allow me to watch content in HDR, it makes all non-HDR content look better. The SW is faster and UI better. All around money well spent. At first I thought it was strange for Samsung to have a stand alone "brain box" but now I understand. I can upgrade my massively expensive TV to the latest technologies without buying a new TV. Awesome work!

I have an f9000, this upgrade not only improved the picture but brought HDR processing.

Upgraded software and better picture. Easy to setup and install. No issues.

All 4 ports use 2.0a and HDR. UHD movies look great

Do a lot of research on this device before buying it . It is a very hard to find and expensive add on the only works on high end UD tvs from 2014 and 2015 and a few 2013 models . I have an HU8700 curved and this is needed to get HDR PQ or any kinda of HDR on and older set. Buying 4k movies with out this and the new UBDK 8500 is waste you have to have unless you have a tv with SUHD from jump street . Do your home work . It does add HDR in what ever form it may the difference is startling I have Dead pool , Revenant and Mad Max the difference it night and day better picture . The new operating system and HDMI 2.0 upgrades all pay off . Easy install straight forward steep price 400.00 but it make a difference what can I say

I bought this for my Samsung UN65HU8550 tv. Use to lag when using apps, now apps open instantly, no lag. Everything runs smooth. Colors seem to look better. Now im able to watch youtube videos in 4k. Very happy with the results. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I believed the advertising - just not sure the purchase was worth the dollars spent - hard for me, not necessarily others, to tell the difference between the old item and the new because of my ageing eyes - Geek Squad assured me that the purchase was valuable as far as extending the life of my picture and TV before needing an upgrade because of the software enhancements - I can neither recommend or deny the benefits - visit with someone to better explain benefits - I tend to buy improvements in my electronic purchases in order to stay up to date

I was a little skeptic about how good the picture would be at first. But after l install it (only took a few minutes) I was really surprised by how much clearer and detailed the picture is. I wish I had done this sooner! Like having a new T.V Family & Freinds, say it's almost 3D like.

The Sek-3500 improved picture quality greatly as well as added the tizen interface. Much recommended!
