I'm not exactly sure why the negative reviews on Amazon, but installing was easy, and now my picture looks amazing and is showing lots of improvements. *It will not remember anything prior other than network information because it needs that to update and install. So that means prior calibrations, and streaming services will need to be done again. That's because it's almost like getting a new TV, which is essentially the point of an evolution kit so you can bring your old 2014-13 TV into the future. Because we all hate when we spend money on an expensive TV only to know that next year they came out with something that's better than your TV in every way. Like those who were early adapters to 4K only to be told that the 2014 TVs have all the required hook ups need to stream 4K or even watch 4K. So the evolution kit came, and solved that issue. So for those of us that are willing to spend the money for Samsung's best TVs, won't be left in the dust when Samsung comes out with a new version. So from the start I noticed the color accuracy has improved, as well as detail. It didn't blow my socks off, but I knew instantly there was a difference. I'm sure when I watch 4K HDR I will have a different tone. What did blow my socks off was the 3D, and it dramatically improved it, because 2D to 3D just wasn't showing depth, and just wasn't flying off the screen like I would like. After the update, it looks really good. This is really worth the buy, especially since Samsung announced that this will be the last evolution kit they produce for the time being. That's because they've reached a point where they can't really upgrade anything else, with this update you have the newest HDMI, the new Tizen browser, new remote, 8 processors, upgraded picture and 3D and the biggest and the real reason you should get this is HDR support. 4K UHD Blu Rays will be in HDR, which means much brighter brights and darker black levels, expanded color, or as Samsung put it, it's better. If you really want to get the best out of your Samsung 2013-14 4K TV, then this update is a must have!

Although the SEK-3500U only makes a NON-HDR 4K Television about 40% HDR, it's still a huge improvement. Couple it with the UBD-K8500 Samsung 4K bluray player, get yourself the Deadpool 4K bluray, and prepare to be amazed!

I purchased so that I could utilize full 4K and UHD color on TV. It definitely works and made a difference on my Samsung UN55F9000. Make sure that you research the best way to install this, which is running the backup first and having your current system and the latest firmware.

After I installed the evolution kit, my tv was almost as fast as any of the new generation Samsung tv. I loved the new remote and the quickness with which the tv would go on and off. I highly recommend it if you want to get a lot more juice of your old tv.

Love the One Connect single cable interface to the display and the new user interface. Something about the picture now seems softer in some cases.

Bought this as an open box product to save a little money and was not disappointed. TV is caught up to 4k quality and can watch 4k on Directv and Netflix.

I bought this evolution kit to improve my picture quality on my 55" Samsung 4K UHD Smart tv and it brings everything aspect of movie watching to life!!

Have had to go through setup several times, having issues with smart hub and apps working properly

The box has somehow made the audio on my TV far worse than it used to be, it's so bad that I can't use it without my soundbar turned on.

I went through three of these kits, one was an open box, two others were shipped from different locations.. Instruction manual poorly written. Samsung tech support, useless just kept telling me that the product was defective and to return it to Best Buy and purchase another one. I made an appointment with a Geek Squad member and the determined that I had the wrong product. I do have the correct product for a Samsung HU 8550 TV. The correct Kit is the SEK3500U One Connect Evolution Kit. My TV is useless for playing 4K media. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had issues with this but like I said Samsung's response is take it back to Best Buy and get e new one.

I needed to upgrade my Samsung 75" Curve TV to HDCP 2.2 and this connection kit did it! I am now able to watch full 4K HDR Blu-rays without buying a new TV!

This product does much more than allow only one cable attaching to your TV. As improvements are made it allows you to get them without buying a new TV.

I bought the Samsung Evolution Kit based on reading reviews stating that it would make a big improvement in the picture quality on my 2014 Samsung UNHU8550 TV. When I first connected it, the picture was actually worse; it was too dark. However, that was resolved by turning off the eco sensor in the settings. But the result was that the picture was the same with or without the kit. There was no perceptible improvement. The benefits of the kit were minimal. I could watch 4K YouTube videos and there was updated software for the Smart Hub. But it was simply not worth the $400 price. I returned it for a refund. I'm glad that Best Buy has a great return policy. Then I went and bought the new Roku Premiere+ streaming player ($100) that supports 4K video, which (I found out by reading another review) is supported on my TV by connecting to the HDMI3 (MHL) port. It looks great and I saved $300.

Helped me with my problems I had with 4k blu ray player and 4k Roku box.

I had to order It because It was not available at my store. Painless experience and I actually received It earlier than anticipated.

Samsung should have told everyone about this upgrade best buy and the geek squad took excellent care of me TV is fantastic

I expected my TV to look way better but did make a difference.
