Would be great to upgrade the slow processor on my tv but what can you do. Well with an 8k series or better tv buy this box and your experience is better.

Excellent product but it would nice to know I needed it when I purchased the tv as it deemed 4K ready

The UHD Evolution kit worked beyond my expectations and upgraded my 2014 4K UHD Samsung tv.

I love being able to upgrade my TV without actually upgrading the TV itself.

This box will give you HDR functionality for 2014 & 2015 Samsung 4K TV's.

I found this to give my UN65HU9000 a remarkable boost in performance and picture quality. Upscaling is unbelievable. I did find on some old TV shows a little jitter, but I was able to resolve that by reducing the Auto Motion setting from Standard to Clear. And one noticeable difference is the Auto Depth Enhancer... the TV has more depth than it did prior. The new Tizen operating system is smooth and easy to use. And I find that it easier to configure than the previous interface. A couple of notables that you may want to pay attention to when upgrading. Ensure that you backup your settings prior to upgrading. This is stated in the instructions, so if you follow them, the upgrade will be seamless. Any picture or sound settings will need to be reset after upgrading. The picture though is so great though, the only changes I needed to make was to the ECO setting, Auto Motion setting and Speaker setting (external speakers).

I think the Evolution Kit is a great concept from Samsung. It promised to be a way to upgrade your old TV to new tech. I have an early 2015 Samsung 65". The Evolution Kit says it's for my TV. The install worked great. But it did not add any benefits or enhancements. Problem is, the Evolution Kit is already Old Tech. Better off to buy a new TV.

Thought Samsung made great quality TV accessories. The Evolution Kit is a joke. Poor picture quality

I purchased this to upgrade my TV it looked like it had a decent picture at first but the sound always was bad had Geek Squad to come out to look at it and they reset things and a picture got worse so I sent it back did not work well with my TV

I received this upgrade on 8/04/17 and installed it on 8/05/17. The installation was straightforward and afterwards my UN60HU8550 was endowed with new apps and could access my entire network. All was well until 8/22/17 when I attempted to turn on the system there was only a black screen. After trying all 4 HDMI ports with DirecTv, PS3, FIOS and Blu-Ray player I concluded the evolution kit was at fault. I disconnected the kit and rolled back the updates and everything was good again. The kit will be returned for a refund. Next time I may not be able to roll back and I really don't want to purchase another TV.

I updated because it is the only option unfortunately. Samsung was supposed to release new evolution kits yearly, but went back on their word and stopped releasing them.

Got this box and had a guy install it but simultaneously he installed a Velop internet system for streaming. My tv drops out to black unexpectedly during my programming at random times!?. So I'm still sitting on the fence to figure if it's a bad box, a crappy streaming signal from Spectrum, or a faulty Velop tower! Film at 11.

This thing was easy to hook up and it was nice to have new options and the screen looked better instantly can't wait to use HDR and see what this TV which already looks nice better. Only downfall is the $399 price but I don't think it's going down anytime soon. Also I heard not to buy used if used on other TV could not work

Easy to set up. Just follow the instructions. Picture is better Xbox one s is now HDR Whites seem brighter and Darks seem darker. I used the new youtube app to get 4K HDR content and had the new tv "wow" feeling. I understand it can not give me true HDR with my set but it does a good job improving my picture. Hope this is helpful to someone wondering if its worth the money

If you want to update your UHD TV to accept the new Security protocol, this is a requirement. The picture for the In TV Streaming services is far superior to the same on my Roku 4 4K streams. That being said it took the better part of two days on support with Samsung, Roku and Netflix to determine if I was getting true 4K video. Plus it took quite a bit of research to make sure Thai was this kit was compatible with my Samsung model 4K TV. The TV even with the evolution kit does not report the true resolution it is receiving but only rather what you you set it up to receive. The set up process is not for the weak of heart, and the installation made my Apple1 TV obsolete so I can no longer stream iTunes. Once ingot it dialed in, I will say the picture is significantly better than what I was seeing from my original kit that I purchased with the TV 3years ago. $400 plus is a lotto shell out for an upgrade, but if you don't want to pay for a new TV it does give new life to your older UHD TV.

Before this upgrade my TV picture was a little fuzzy and sometimes kind of shakey depending on how fast the scenes of a show were. After this upgrade, I didn't realize how bad it was! I can't believe the difference.... Seriously. The super crisp picture ended up being a plus! I have an antenna and a 4K TIVO Bolt hooked up to my Samsung NU55HU9000 . You'd never know I didn't have cable or satellite, that's how fantastic the picture is. Even the poorer quality stations look amazing after the upgrade! I know it's a pricey upgrade but, you save in not buying another TV. Highly recommend this product!

These are good solid units & make your older 4k tv able to receive V9C coding for 4k DVD UHD Blu-Ray Player UBD-8500 & Panasonic 4k blu-ray units !!! I got an one with an an update issue the first time but second one worked like a dream !!! My dad has the tv now, but when you first hook it up it makes you think you have an brand new receiver !!! Blacks are blacker, whites are whiter, picture is sharper !!! Upgrades are keeping these units working well now !!! Samsung kept their promise on Evolution box for 2014 !!!

If you want 4k on a Samsung HU8550 series you will need this Even though the specs state the #3 HDMI port is HDCP 2.2 compliant it is not The TV always looked flat to me anyway and this was a drastic improvement Should have had a discount from Samsung to make up for the spec lie Was very frustrated could not obtain 4k without this box but it as well worth the 400.00 as my TV looks better than new!
