If you are an anime fan that loves - great animation; amazing samurai battles; a groovy hip hop soundtrack; characters that you will fall in love with and an adventurous plot that will leave you wanting more once it is over - then Samurai Champloo is a must have. Overall, this is an absolute masterpiece that all anime fans should own.

You don't have to be a fan of anime to fall in love with this series. Story telling, action, great characters, great music...it's all here. Set in feudal Japan with anachronistic details and soundtrack. It's from the same director who created Cowboy Bebop. So fans of that anime can expect much of the same in this series.

A close second only to Cowboy Bebop in anime action/ road trip series. Some of the highest quality non feature film animation you're likely to ever see. Whether you're a long time anime fan or just getting into it this is required viewing. Great Picture. Excellent sound.

A lot of animes take like 3-5 episodes just for a fight scene to take place, Naruto I’m looking at you. Then there’s this! This anime has a cool, different art style for anime and a very interesting story that flows very well for its 20 some episodes.

This series has stood out to me all these years. The mishmash of a period piece, combined with urban influences of its time of release make it stand out among other Anime favorites. I already had the DVD set, but had to get this Remastered blu-Ray edition.

A modern classic! As a HUGE fan of 'Cowboy Bebop", I cannot recommend Samurai Champloo more than enough! Imagine: an alternate version of Japan's Edo period (1603-1868) with an anachronistic, predominantly hip-hop setting. LOVE IT!

As might be expected from the same man who created Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo is an amazing fusion of styles from feudal Japan and the era of Hip Hop. It shares a similar sense of "misfits being thrown together by circumstances and grudgingly working towards the same goals," and it also shares a similar mix of episodes that are one-off stories along with the episodes that focus on the overarching plot. The characters are rich and diverse and each of them experience their own individual and unqiue character growth, but they do so while avoiding the more common tropes of just "powering up." They do sharpen their skills, yes, but difficult opponents are often required to be outwitted in a realistic manner, rather than just having the protagonists retreat and spend a few scenes learning some new secret technique. It's a show that's satisfying to watch, both from a visual and musical standpoint. I wish that the story hadn't come to an end, but it was a good, organic conclusion for both the plot and the characters themselves.

Best anime ever! Had to get it on blu ray! Really good!

Samurai Champloo is a great anime series to watch. Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), Samurai Champloo is a entertaining show with great characters as well as cool music.

This a great series than ran on adult swim late at night. Loved the show growing up and had to add it to my blue ray collection.

The blu ray makes a already good looking show look even better

The show itself? A classic of the genre. 5 stars. This release? It's fine and will probably be the best visual representation of the show we're going to get. The audio is fantastic and the image quality is good enough to be happy with this release over some older DVD options. If you want a 1080p version or you don't already own it on DVD this is the way to go.

This show is fantastic. From the man who created Cowboy Bebop, this is his dive into the Samurai world and it's glorious in every way possible.
