2018 and STILL only 2000 songs?? Bad Plug Location

I have been a Sandisk fan for about as long as they have been making portable media. I trust their memory cards with all my photography. And I have had several of these little MP3 players over the years. My old Sansa Fuze ran forever until the battery finally bloated the whole thing apart after 10 years! But enough nostalgia... This little Sandisk Clip Jam is good and bad... The bad being really more annoyances than anything, but enough for me to deduct stars. Bad 1 - 2000 song limit? Seriously?? I have a 16gb Micro-SD card installed, which it has no problems reading. BUT... Why oh WHY in the year of 2018 is there STILL a limitation of how many songs it can randomize? I have over 3000 songs on the card. It peaks out at 2000. Not really sure WHICH 2000 it is randomizing amongst... the first 2000? A different selection of 2000 each time it is started? I dunno... but seriously.... Time for Sandisk to grow up and eliminate this ridiculous song limitation. Bad 2 - The port locations. USB out one side and AUX out the other? Say what?? Obviously, the Sandisk designers never actually USED this thing or they would have immediately moved the plugs... BOTH ports should be coming out the bottom, or at least the top, so you can easily and conveniently have your cords going the same direction out of this player. But nope. They go out opposite sides effectively making it the size of your hand by the time the cords get redirected to wherever they are going. I spent some extra money and bought 90-degree adapters for both USB and AUX so the cords can exit the player going the same direction. Other than that, it's good. Screen display is basic, but scrolls titles. It is easy to select random/shuffle play, despite the 2000 song limitation. Battery life seems to be good. Menus are intuitive and simple. Size is just right. It's lightweight. Clip is sturdy enough. Overall, I like the unit. It plays music as it should. I just wish the backing code was updated from its 10 year old brethren and that song limitation done away with...

I purchased this for my workplace that doesn't akure anything with bluetooth or recording capabilities. It honestly is the best little mp3 player I've had since Zune was a thing. Only thing i could gripe about would be that it's a bit difficult to get the hang of using the audiobook features. Once you've got it down, it's easy. I've put a whole set of books that are each 10+ hours and I've still got a bunch of room for more. So far i also have about 280 songs. Wish these devices weren't so difficult to find, or I'd buy more than one. Oh, and it does come with earbuds but I only use headphones, so i have no idea if they're decent quality or not.

I purchased 2 of these mp3 players for my nine year old and seven year old music obsessed daughters, for Christmas and they both love it!! Both of the screens were scratched upon arrival just like another reviewer stated, so I am assuming it is a manufacturing/quality control issue. The scratch is only aesthetic, it does not affect the operation of the mp3 player at all. We used iTunes to upload their music onto it and it took a little bit of time to get it figured out at first but once I figured out how to do it loading their music was a breeze. The sound quality is great and it has plenty of storage I like the bluetooth feature so they can connect it to their BT speaker whenever they want to. Overall it is a great little Mp3 player and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants music on the go.

I was looking mostly for a FM player and found this compact MP3 player with FM! It is very small and lightweight. Surprisingly good sound! Headphones, comes in packages, not a good ones so you better use something good. I use this player with Sennheiser CX 300II. Sounds even better!

I didn't really know what to totally expect with my new MP3 player, but it's light and easy speasy to load. I wish shuffle would make it more random when it would play off of the shuffle option. Put in enough music and who cares, right? Charges fast and I would urge you to purchase if you're on the fence. Now time for a shameless plug as you could download the WWS and put on the unit for listening at the gym or out for a run. Right DJ Paulie?

We absolutely LOVE our devices! We had hundred of albums copied onto our old Vista laptop, but couldn’t get them transferred to phone since iTunes is gone. We put them on this, and now we can listen to them again - and we can just plug into our home or car stereo with a USB cord and listen! So happy!

I love these little radios. I have one in my suitcase, and two floating around the house. They are so handy. I listen to them all the time while walking the dogs or doing housework. I have not used them as an MP3 player yet but assume they are fab for that!

I bought this MP3 player to kill time on the road to a place that was 48 hours away. It lasted about 9 or so hours without charging in between. I've also been able to charge it on my desktop, laptop, portable charger, and wall outlet. It's held 500+ of my songs and I've taken up ~5.6 GB of the 8 GB. It's great! It's very small so it takes up no room.

Using this with a set of ear muffs at work. Small and light enough to attach to the frame of the muffs without adding hardly any additional weight.

This little unit does everything I need and more. I use it in my home studio to upload stereo tracks to my multi track recorder, so that I can play along on different instruments and capture the performances. Once that is done, I upload from the player to my PC and mix things down, and then I put the finished tracks back on the MP3 player so I can listen to them over headphones or external speakers. It is easy to charge, easy to load songs into and off of, and easy to play back, rewind, fast forward, etc. Well worth the money.

It works really well and it hold lots of songs. I also like the clip and the ability to use memory card. Unfortunately, it was a lot smaller than expected. From the pictures on this site, I assumed it would be bigger than a AA battery at least. It was a gift, but the person didn’t like it because it was way too small.

I did a lot of research prior to me buying the Clip Jam and there is really nothing on the market that met my requirements of lightweight, small, that I could transfer my iTunes music to and had an FM Radio, except the Clip Jam. I was concerned about how hard it could be to transfer my iTunes music over to the Sandisk Clip Jam, but it was extremely EASY to do. And from a quality of sound, I find no difference in quality from the Apple Shuffle to the Clip Jam. And my main goal of having something with an FM Radio was achieved. The Clip Jam did great getting all my favorite local stations. The plus is that you can set stations for easy changing while on your Run. It is true the Clip Jam does not have the metal casing as the Apple Shuffle has. It's made out of a plastic type material,.. but it doesn't feel cheap or that it would break easily,.. it just feels light, which is what I wanted for my Runs. It also has the ability to use a microSDHC card to expand the 8GB it already has. Which will make it easy to download a lot of music for longer Runs where you may want more diversity. It also has a screen to search and put your music into folders which makes it easy to organize on the go,.. and to top it off it not expensive. Comparing it to the Shuffle, I was able to get the Clip Jam for $5 cheaper. A very small price to pay to keep one focused on Running to Music which is a life saver. I love it! I'm a Clip Jam fan for sure... it will now be my new go-to music product for Running.

First, shipping was EXTREMELY slow!!! I will not order online for shipping again!!! ... For the player, it's a nice very small unit, screen is large enough to be readable, sound quality is good but I only gave it 3 stars for 2 reasons. The supplied ear buds are CRAP! I replaced them with a better pair of JVC in ear phones and there are absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS included. You have to go online and download the instruction manual. It does have a number of nice features like you can program it to shut off after a certainly amount of time, adjust backlight level and brightness and there is a power saving feature and you can add up to 32 GB SC card which I did so can have a huge number of songs stored. It has other nice features but I only use it for music, not documents, audio books, or other items. Would recommend it, small (tiny), easy to use, good sound, and a fair price. Too bad they supply it with CRAP ear buds.
