I was looking at some of the dedicated MP3 players for under $50 and this one looked interesting. The main reason I chose this one is because it was on sale for quite a bit off and it was one of the few in the price range cable of playing FLAC Lossless files. I've always been pleased with my San Disk players in the past and this one likewise does not disappoint. Of course there are some features I would like to have like Bluetooth connectivity, have to move up to the Clip Sport + for that functionality. I like the expandable Micro SD storage and the color LCD screen. The clip on this one is very useful, you can clip this player almost anywhere and it's extremely lightweight so don't forget it's clipped to you. I have actually clipped it to the headband of my headphones and ran a really short cable between the player and headphones and made a makeshift "wireless" type headset. The sound quality with my FLAC files is great, not quite up to the level of my Fiio X1, but not too far off to be honest... of course it's dependent on the headphone choice. The stock IEM's that come with it are decent with some good low end at the expense of the mid range a bit. Now the player really sounds much better when I jack in my Audio Technica ATH-M40x headphones, and it's able to drive my 80 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros to a decent level as well. Nice! The menus are a bit antiquated but nonetheless they are very intuitive and easy to navigate quickly. The build quality is not bad, again it's not Fiio X1 quality, but it's good. If you're looking for good micro player that weighs next to nothing (the cable of my DT770 Pro's actually weighs more that the player) and you like your FLAC Losless audio, this is a solid choice to take a look at. If you can grab it on sale it's a great choice. If you want all this and Bluetooth, grab the Sport Clip + (but the battery lasts a bit longer on the Sport Clip). I recommend this player highly, I took away one star because it's not perfect, it's very good though.

Solid MP3 player for the price

There aren’t that many MP3 players to choose from anymore in 2018 but finally there’s the Sandisk MP3. The MP3 player is very nice, small but portable and easy and lightweight. The FM radio works very well with RDS text for most stations and 40 presets. Sometimes it is a little staticky when in a car or a bus but when walking around or standing still you get a solid connection. This MP3 player can actually get stations far away from my area which is awesome and full text as well. Another neat feature is the sport timer and stopwatch very nice to have. And this mp3 only comes with 8GB of storage but there’s a micro Sd slot for more than 32GB. It also has a clip on the back to clip onto your pants. The battery life is good as well. The only thing that sucks about this player is the backlight feature because it keeps turning off the screen every 90 seconds which is the maximum and there is no way to turn off the feature or set to always on which is quite frustrating.

I read some reviews before I bought this player. I didn't find anything hard to understand or do with using this player. I am computer literate and had no issues adding a 64 gig card and loading music onto the player and card.
I read a review about someone who bought this for their 90 + year old mother and she couldn't use the player. Well, maybe they should have done a little research before they made that purchase.
This is a very small unit and for someone of that age it probably is not the correct gift. I'm in my late sixties and have no size or usage issues with this player.
I use this three days a week and usually for around four to five hours. After that it doesn't take a long time to recharge.

If you just want some tunes while you exercise, you can't beat the Sansa Clip. It's lightweight, unobtrusive, holds a LOT of music, good sound quality, easy to use, good battery life, etc.
I see others wearing their clunky iPods and iPhones at the gym and feel a little sorry for them. They paid 10 X as much for something that slows them down or gets in the way.
I know they do more things but, come on, you're at the gym for what reason? to text your friends or work out?

superior FM reception compared to my other carry / work portable radios the SanDisk's size , weight & battery life is incredible. I used I-Tunes as my music download source. A little tricky at first but follow the instructions for (windows) and after a couple of tries it went really well . Have only had it a week but so far it is great . P.S. when radio is on watch out for that pause (mute ) button when clipping on the player.

Overall a great product. I really wasn't expecting much from such a relatively cheap product but it far surpasses my expectations. I bought this to keep my data plan down since I was going through a lot of GBs just streaming on my phone, and I didn't have the money to spend on an iPod. This is a great alternative, with a small screen, radio feature and all the basic functions of an iPod with even almost twice the memory.
The only downside of it that I've had is that it only seems to be able to transfer files using the small cable that came with it. I have several other micro usb cables that can transfer files but don't do more than charge the device. Plus it doesn't sync directly with iTunes or Google music so you have to manually drag and drop the song files into the device using Windows Explorer.
Other than that it's great. I use it to and from work every day and only need to charge it once every three days or so. And it's so tiny that it fits right in my pocket or hand or on days I don't have either free clips right onto my belt. When I get bored of the music library the radio works great and you can have presets. It's simple to use and great and convenient. A surprisingly great investment.

First of all got to say this little mp3 player works great, I use it during work 8 hours straight using 75% of battery not bad at all, what i did notice is when you hear FM Radio for some reason waste more battery then using the MP3 mode, really like this mp3 player really small can fit anywhere sound is great works for my needs can extend memory by putting a micro sd card but 8gb more then enough for me plus you can put mp3 songs by albums or by putting in folder like that you can play any folder you want to play great option. Will recommend to anyone out there looking for and MP3 player ;-)

The SanDisk - Clip Sport 8GB* MP3 Player - Black, is a great little music player. The compact size makes it very portable. It is easy to use, you can just create folders of your music and drop and drag them to the device. It will play mp3, AAC and other music formats. The earphones are quite comfortable. I use while sleeping to play relaxation music. It's size and convenience also make it great for the gym and it can easily be connected to your car if you have a mini input jack. The fact that it can accept Micro SDHC disks to expand the memory to 32 or 64 GBs allows you to carry around all the music you wish to have. It also will store pictures and audiobooks in addition to having a radio and a stopwatch. It has a 25 hour battery life which is an excellent feature. All this for a very reasonable price of $39.00. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is not a smartphone. It is not an iPod. There are no apps. There is no internet. This MP3 player is exactly that, an MP3 player. It has no real usefulness beyond that, but it does what it is supposed to do and does it well. The output is plenty loud, and the battery life is fabulous. I bought this to play music in my twin toddler's bedroom, and it is great for this. It is small, light, not delicate, and functional. I imagine it would also be fantastic for joggers and cyclist that wanted to listen to music.

One of the better MP3 players on the market - especially for the price. Extremely easy to transfer music to the player and manage your files, folders and playlists. Good sound for such a tiny piece of equipment. It doesn't have Bluetooth, but you can get the same basic model with Bluetooth for just a few dollars more. The earbuds are not the best, but you probably already have the headphones you prefer. For the price - can't be beat.

The true statement: This player is much better deal than iPod Shuffle and better and richer audio than iPod Nano because SanDisk has they called; Custom setting on equalizer, this means; it's adjustable as Apple has "FAILED!" With full size 35 OHM headphones is very strongly recommended. Little bit of too much learning curve, unless you unplug your headphone, then whole thing will open up to selected. The only thing is cheap about is price, not the quality. And by the way, this unit has very decent FM Stereo radio with great separation without phony way of over-boost mid-upper BASS that ruin the music. Believe it or not, even home STEREO tuner amp has overly BASS with high treble cut filter. I had notice, nearly no FM hiss and other noise, as most small receivers have to fight with the noise. Notice: Install SD Micro Card, this player will re-formatted first then you remove it to add on your new songs just like your USB Flash Drive, by click N' drop. The change in USB from most of digital camera to tiny cell phone USB plug.

I have an older Sansa Fuze and a Clip, so I'm familiar with the quality of Sansa's mp3 products. They continue to offer products that accept external micro SDHC cards, which is very important to me; I added a 16G card, which leaves me plenty of space for more music. Transferring music to/from the device is simple; no program is needed, as I just copy & paste in Windows (7, 64-bit). The sound quality is very good, and the intuitive controls make it a snap to use. I couldn't really ask for anything more in a budget-priced mp3 player.

After many years have gone by, I needed to upgrade my old SanDisk mp3 player. I am not an Apple product person, but I wanted to get an mp3 player that resembled my last one, since I never really had an issue with the previous SanDisk mp3 player.
I like how small it is, big clip to put on my shirt or shorts while at the gym, and earplugs with long cord to give me room to lift weights or ride the bike.
Easy to maneuver through the prompts to get you where you want to go. All I did was plug it into my laptop, charge it, transfer my music to the mp3, and within a couple of hours, I was listening to my music. There is also FM-radio if you want to listen to the radio. It has many channels to choose from to create your own listening library of your favorite channels.

I used to carry a clunky, heavy, obsolete MP3 player on my left arm when I worked out. It would slip down and have to be relocated every so often. The sound quality was very good but eventually it faltered and I replaced it with the SanDisk clip sport for a mere $39.00 and some change. The difference was immediate. It is weightless! It clips on my shirt at the neck and is so small I don't even know it's there. The sound quality is comparable and with a 32GB mini-disc attachment the 8GB memory easily holds my 4,200+ songs, multiple television comedy routines and 9 or 10 full length movies (in audio).

This is my second SanDisk MP3 player that I used primarily for working out at the gym. It is small and you don't have a huge phone strapped to you when working out. The original MP3 player display stopped working or I would still be using that.
The down side of using this is you have headphones/earbuds plugged in which will sometimes get in the way while you are working out. If this had blue tooth it would cost more but would be slightly better.
I have no problems with the battery life as I can spend a week in the gym and not have to recharge it. The memory card is a plus and I have had no problems with running out of space. I listen to podcasts also so I am constantly updating the player.
