    This is a fast little device. Just keep in mind that you have to unsave your password to save the annoyance of signing in every time you power up your computer. Otherwise, the device will be locked until you enter the password.

    I purchased this SSD driver as the installation path for steam games and to store some data. The reading and writing speed is very fast, and steam games can run on it without any problems.

    SanDisk 4TB external SSD gets very hot to the touch. From the MacOS side, EXFAT format is relatively slow, file indexing takes longer then on spinning platter external HDDs, and has so far resulted in two file table errors that required reformatting the SSD. So recommend formatting as Mac OS Extended. APFS is another and newer format option, although will not support Mac's Time Machine backup. Works well as a portable/travel ready backup.

    Of course looks shouldnt matter when it comes to storage options but you gotta admit this sky blue is a good look. No problems with the drive’s functionality. Transfers files fast and has so far been reliable.

    I use these mostly for video editing and on set data management. They have been very consistent on both Windoes and Mac computers. Just to note, i have not seen a viable reason to justify the pro version. These work just as well and are just as fast.
