Super Fast drive and very reliable. If you're a digital artist or content creator, you won't be sorry if you get this. It's great.

Great drive! I use it on my Mac Mini M4, plugged in to the back ports to use it as a Thunderbird 3 drive. This drive can get hot, so I came up with a simple solution to help it run cooler. I grabbed an old metal iPhone holder I wasn't using and lay across in there. Being up in the air, it runs cooler than lying on my desk. I took my summer tower fan and have it off to the side of my desk, rotating to keep me and my gear cool. It's working very well. When it first appears on your desktop, you'll probably have to open the Apple Disk Utility and Mount the drive. If you ever want to unplug the drive, either Eject the drive, or turn off your Mac, and then unplug it. I would buy this again!

As a Mac user, I use external SSDs for a variety of reasons. They work well as my Time Machine backup, in addition to storing my VMs for Parallels and other external data storage needs. And, I gotta say... this one blows all of the others out of the water in terms of speed, simplicity and reliability - but especially speed! I could not believe what a significant difference the additional speed this SSD would make. I've never had Time Machine backups finish so fast as they do on this. Highly recommend!

This hard drive is a wonder. It’s super fast, has incredible storage, and it’s aesthetically pleasing. It’s a joy to use and I would recommend it to anyone.

This thing is extremely fast (which can’t be said of my WiFi connection. It does get pretty warm after a while, but that appears to be the norm in this and other similar drives and review of others who have had it for a while are reassuring as far as longevity. It made its connection quickly on my MacBook Pro with M1. It’s pretty compact, but can’t help but wish for even smaller in the future. While I’m wishing: Just as fast, but wireless, would be nice, too. Anyway, expensive but worth it if your situation demands extra high speeds!

This is my second one, for my second laptop. They work as advertised on Apple MacBooks. I use them to store my photo library with full resolution versions synced to iCloud. This leaves plenty of room on my 1 TB internal SSDs for the rest, and room to operate at peak efficiency. That is, no penalty for lack of space.

Sleek. Compact. Durable. I recommend not installing the software it comes with though.

Using it with MacBooks and speeds are incredible >2500 mb/s. Short thunderbolt 3 cable included. If you see it on sale and you was looking for fast ssd just give it a try

When I connected to my Windows 11 Pc it wouldn’t show up, I went into device management and hard formatted to work. But that wasn’t my only issue. When this SSD connects it makes my computer SUPER slow for some reason. Shutdown won’t work when it’s plug in. Accessing the folders will crash explorer/ folders. But on my MacBook M5 max it works fine.

We're sorry to hear about your experience. The PRO-G40 SSD is a high-end device, and performance can depend on the host system. Please ensure it is firmly connected and that your system meets the power requirements: https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/34968. I love it, is super fast for editing, the only problem is the price, a bit expensive on my opinion but if you can afford it defenetly worth it

Solved my problems with latency issues when loading sound libraries. Doing music composition need instruments to load fast. This did the trick. Easy install and works great with Apple.

Would have worked but had an outdated device that didn't allow me to properly use or use it is all on my computer. Requires a certain usb or thunderbolt port to even work. Make sure you know the requirements before making your purchase.

This is the fastest non-DIY external SSD I’ve ever used. When connected via Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports (and cables), I’m pretty much getting the read/write speeds claimed by SanDisk/Western Digital. Am using this as additional storage for file portability between my 2019 MacBook Pro 16 and my 2020 M1 Mac Mini.

Needed more storage space for photos so I purchased the SanDisk SSD external hard drive! Never had any problems with their products!
