Works great, just as expected. I really have no major complaints at this time. I wish it was a little bit less expensive, but I believe the quality is worth the money overall.

So far so good but it seems to run very hot, which is unusual for a solid state drive. I hope that it lasts and won't die prematurely.

I've been using G-Drive external hard drives for a number of years. This will be my third G-Drive and first SSD. G-Drives are built a lot more robust than other external drives. This version is made by SanDisk, a part of Western Digital, who bought G-Drive from Hitachi a number of years back. I bought a new used iMac Pro. I put it on an arm. I wanted to be able to remove the last vestige of a desktop setup; the Time Machine backup drive. This is a very small form factor SSD hard drive; smaller than an iPhone 4 and very light. I have it nestled in the adapter bracket on the back of the iMac and connected with a short USB-C data cable. To get the best use of this SSD, connect it using a data cable. While data cables can pass power (charge), charging cables may not be up to passing large amounts of data. The G-Drive runs silently ...as an SSD should ...and it gets a little warm when it's running. There's a small, dim LED that lights when the drive is powered, which is anytime it's plugged into a USB-C port. The case appears to be rubber coated aluminum; there is no plastic save for the LED lens and the "G" logo. If you're looking for a rugged, large capacity, small form external drive, then I highly recommend you check out this SSD G-Drive. Based on my experience with the HDD G-Drives, I see no reason to doubt this SSD won't last quite a long time.

I have been using the 1TB HDD version of the G-Drive for several years. I decided to purchase the 1TB version of the NVME G-Drive due to the positive experience I have had with the Hard Disk version. In my line of work, I need a drive that can withstand harsh environments. I travel quite a bit. Almost all of my work is performed outdoors. This drive has yet to let me down. When this drive connected to a USB-C port, it is extremely fast for the price. The only negative feedback I have is, if you are using this drive on a Windows device, it will need to be initialized and formatted in the computer management screen on a pc before using the first time. After this is performed, the drive will function like any other portable drive. This could be problematic for someone who is not tech savvy. I wouldn't let this hold you back, because there are tutorials available on the web on how to do this. Bottom line, if you are needing a durable drive that is fast and reliable, this drive is the drive to choose.

Nice external drive. Unaware that it is originally formatted for Mac and not Windows, but it was simple enough to reformat. Small, and fast with the included USB-C cable.

This product is great for mobile and backup storage and once it was setup for use with Windows 11, it was easy to use. It's small and convenient and I can see it being useful in a lot of circumstances for different people. For me, I just used it to back up and store some files while switching between computers.

Needed to fresh install Mac OSX on my MacBook Pro. I compared the available options for external storage, read some reviews and decided to go with this one. It’s fast and I quickly copied all important files not stored in iCloud, ran fresh install from System Preferences, copied back the data and I was back up and running. I use the drive for the timemachine backups. Great drive
