I tried to use this as a ubuntu boot drive and get terrible performance from the OS in general when doing large data transfers. Suggest going with a SSD over this drive while should fix those tandom iops.

Came formatted for Mac - easily reformatted for PC (research Dr. Google). Rugged exterior, drive and interface faster than old PC. Used as back-up and move to new PC.
