Great for boot drive!

I immediately formatted it and installed MacOS to use as a boot drive for my 2019 iMac which was get bogged down and slow. NOW my Mac is fast and responsive! I couldn't recommend this product enough.

The speed difference is amazing. Installed macOS Ventura on the SanDisk SSD. The Apple migration tool copied my preferences and data. My iMac now feels a new machine because of the speed increase.

This only works with usb-c and does not automatically identify itself as a storage device. I bought this as a DVR storage device, and it does not work for this purpose. Much cheaper ones do, so I do not recommend.
