As usual, Tom Hanks did his homework and played a convincing Walt Disney. The script writers were quirky, which made them great. Gives a new perspective on hoops people are willing to jump through to get what they want. Audiences are fortunate Walt was willing to pursue her!

I enjoyed this story as I never really knew it. Disney definitely put a their spin on it as I read the actual accounts of process of making Mary Poppins were vastly different. Tom Hanks is solid. Video Quality = Above Average Audio Quality = Good Extras = average, I expected more from Disney Watching this film has inspired me to watch Mary Poppins again one day.

Loved the actors, actresses, the plot....everything! Not so sure that kids can appreciate the movie as much as adults. The story kind of jumps around from her memories as a child & the present w/Walt Disney. But it was such a great movie (as an Adult) to watch! Cried too!

I enjoyed this movie because of the acting by Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. They played their parts well. The storyline is interesting - I remember Mary Poppins from when I was a kid and it was fun to see the efforts that were put out to get this story made into a film.

The fact that this is a true story makes it all the more enjoyable. Perfect casting. Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson were the perfect foil for one another. the fact that P., L. Travers put Walt Disney through agony to get Mary Poppins made is quite a story..

It does a great job of explaining how Mary Poppins the book and the movie came to be. Shows how something very sad can turn into something positive and uplifting . Good life lesson and very entertaining.

Back story of how Oscar winning movie Mary Poppins got made. Great cast ,script and beautiful scenery . This is not a movie for those under 12. If you are curious as to what it took to make Mary Poppins into a movie please see this movie. Both Disney ,Travers ,the writers and Disney's staff worked a lot more magic behind the screen to produce this classic.

This movie makes me cry every time I watch it. Hanks and Thompson both give incredible performances and it reminds me of the Disney magic for each viewing. The DVD came promptly and was in excellent condition.

Tom Hanks did a good job portraying Walt Disney, but Emma Thompson was outstanding in portraying the author of Mary Poppins. Ms. Thompson displayed the frustrations of an author when dealing with a major production company aggressively trying to license here work. Movie keeps moving, no dull spots. Movie will be attractive for older teens and adults.

Amazing movie brought to life by two of the best actors of their generation. The high and low moments will bring you to tears. I will not be able to watch Mary Poppins again without thinking about the great struggle that went in to finally making it.

A great story of how Walt and the Disney Studios went out of their way to get Mary Poppins made into a movie for all age groups. Destned to become a classic. See the Poppins movie extra before you watch this, it will make the movie more interesting.

A very enjoyable movie. There is a hint of comedy or maybe it is irony. I have heard that the story is not completely factual, but I believe it gave a reasonable view of the force that Walt Disney was and what it was like to work for a family firm rather than a corporation. Both Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson were fantastic.

This movie is such an endearing one to see. I had no idea the storyline was what it was, but I found it very interesting. I of course love the original Mary Poppins, so for there to be a movie about the creation of it, of course I would love it!

I grew up in Southern California and a trip to Disneyland was very special. I also love Mary Poppins so watching this movie brought back this wave of nostalgia for those more innocent times. Tom Hanks did a great job capturing Walt's spirit.

While this is a worthwhile title to add to a DVD collection, I was a bit disappointed. For people that enjoy nostalgia, this is a great way to spend a couple of hours. While Tom Hanks was great as Walt Disney, Emma Thompson's character, P.L. Travers, was so unlikeable that she made the movie a bit less enjoyable than it had to be.

This is a great movie about how Walt Disney got the rights to produce the movie Mary Poppins. It goes in great detail on how the author of the book had to deal with letting go of her character so that Walt Disney could make a movie about.

The movie provided an interesting insight into the story behind the making of the Mary Poppins movie that I was not previously aware of. Having seen the original Walt Disney as a child on TV every Sunday. Tom Hanks did a very good job of imitating him. The music was a good part of the movie without making it seem like a musical.

We loved the movie. We loved the actors. But what we loved the most was the story line that bought the character of Walt Disney to light. The emotional triumph for all that participated in making of Mary Popins was a true delight.

This movie is a well acted and written story about the life of the Mary Poppins creator as well as how the movie was made and the relationship between P.L. Travers and Walt Disney. I was also pleased with the extras that were provided.

Loved this movie! Great story! If you're a Mary Poppins fan, you need to see this. It tells the back story of Walt trying to convince PL Travers to let him make the movie. You will laugh and maybe cry watching this heartfelt movie.
