I usually go for adult comedies and not too big on comedies aimed at kids, but this fun-for-the-whole-family flick is definitely a fun one. Mainly in part by Jack Black and Mike White's style of humor, which I am definitely a fan of. It certainly is worth rewatching, so I upgraded my old DVD to this Blu-ray version to up the quality of this classic. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a good wholesome laugh(or two)!

Great movie with jack black in his prime . He’s a substitute teacher but he’s really a struggling musician that sees potential in prep school kids with musical talent. Fun movie for the whole family.

One of my favorite Jack Black movies. The Blu-ray edition is definitely an upgrade from my DVD copy.

School of Rock is a great movie with perfect Jack Black and an excellent supporting cast, most of them kids. Dewie Finn gets kicked out of his band and must find a way to pay the rent. When he intercepts a phone call for his substitute teacher roommate, Ned, Dewie decides to take the job. At first, he has no idea what to do, but when he discovers the kids in the class are great musicians, he decides to turn them into a band. Along the way, Dewie gets to know them all while also teaching them the history of rock. This is a great movie that surprisingly can be seen by the whole family. Jack Black has never been better, and the kids are amazing. If nothing else, the soundtrack is great with plenty of Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Black Sabbath and so much more. Jack Black is perfectly cast as Dewie Finn, the down on his luck musician who takes a job as a substitute teacher. His eyebrows and facial expressions could not be done by anyone else. Joan Cusack is also very good as Principal Mullins, who tries to keep her school in order. Mike White and Sarah Silverman also star as Ned, Dewie's roommate, and his evil girlfriend. The real stars of this movie are the kids in Dewie's class. They are all incredible performers as well as pretty good actors. With all these things combined, School of Rock is a can't miss movie. I recently saw School of Rock the Musical and never saw the movie with Jack Black. After seeing the musical I just had to watch the movie. Absolutely loved both!!

I grew up watching this movie as a preteen and now as an adult, I still can't get enough of it! Watching it on Blu-ray has been great!

I got this movie when my granddaughter came to stay with me. She had Never seen it!! I couldn't have that! It is a great movie.

Jack Black is wonderful in this movie. To teach the kids to play in a band and try teach regular subjects is funny as heck.

I watched this film when it first came out, and again recently with my elementary-aged daughter. She and I both really enjoyed it, and I'm glad to have it as part of my collection.

I got this for my husband's Christmas stocking since he likes it so much. it was a great price so I felt comfortable buying it as a stocking stuffer.
