Luckily we talked to the guys at the installation bay first before we bought our stereo and they let us know all the extra parts we would need for the install.

As I said no idea what this does but it's great. Got it for my 2010 Hyundai Sonata and had no problem

Eventually one of the car installers ended up helping and finding the right parts. Would reccomend this, but not bestbuy.
