Purchased to replace a Hard Drive that crashed and seems to be working fine so far.

I thought I had given my review earlier. Perhaps it didn't get through. I returned this drive because it was for newer laptops with a "flat contacts" interface. I needed the older version with a "pins" interface. In the future I will inspect the item before purchase instead of relying on the salesperson's expertise.

Replacing the original hard drive for my sister's Toshiba laptop. It is easy to unpack and install the new hard disk. The laptop apparently works better with the new hard drive.

I recently purchased this hard drive to upgrade my late 2008 13" unibody MacBook. It worked great at first (though it was a bit laggy despite my 8gb of RAM, which I initially contributed to the 10.8.2 update), but then it went down hill FAST and my computer would not turn on. I spoke to four different people at Apple and ran every diagnostic test ever and nothing fixed the problem. Apple recently announced they were extending their recall on iMacs with Seagate hard drives (http://www.tuaw.com/2012/10/14/apple-extends-seagate-drive-replacement-program-for-imacs/). While the Momentus LP is not on the list, the Momentus XP is, and I am convinced mine was affected as well. I took the hard drive back to Best Buy, returned it (even though it was over the 30 day limit - thank you Best Buy!), and purchased a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 1tb hard drive. It works great! This is one that Other World Computing (macsales.com) sells, so I definitely trust it will continue to work like it is supposed to. My Mac is better than ever now!

I purchased this item to upgrade the HDD capacity of my PS4 but unfortunately it did not read it, it fit well but could not link to PS4 had to look for a different option.

Purchased this drive to put in my 2011 15" MBP. Quite drive but died after 2 weeks of use. This is shameful with today's technology. Value for price is poor since I have wasted my time and money putting it in my system then trying to recover my data from the not functioning drive. Ease of use is poor because I can not use it. Performance has not been very good with this drive even when it was working, in the first 2 weeks. Taking it back to Best Buy and most likely will go with the Western Digital. I am sure that this is one drive out of maybe 50-100 drives that fail. But total waist of time If you purchase this just make sure you keep good backups, which I do.

So, I've had this in my MacBook Pro for about 2 weeks now and my battery life has decreased from 7 hours to 3 hours on a max charge. I was under the impression this was a low power drive... I guess that's up for interpretation.
