Purchased this drive to replace a failed drive in a Synology NAS. These are desktop grade drives and are not designed for the always on environment of the NAS. But for the price its hard to beat,

No problems so far, quick install, and data transfer rate is decent. It would be difficult finding a better price for a 2TB HDD.

Replace a toshiba which died in less than a year with this sea gate I usually use sea gate there more reliable in my opinion

the hard drive really got me out of a real jam. I would have been left high and dry when my computer crashed if best buy didn't have this bad boy waiting for me at such a reasonable price!

I have always found Seagates to be really reliable and since this one was on sale, i couldn't pass it up. I hear about drives dying out of the box but i've never had that problem with seagates.

I have this in my RAID system. With another duplicate drive. I feel secure knowing my pictures, movies, music, and documents are safe.

I've had this hard drive since 2015 and it still works which is better than my previous two hard drives.

I bought these drives to replace aging 1TB Mirrored Drives in a LaCie FireWire 800 External enclosure I use as a constantly on server through my iMac. I simply popped out the old 1TB drives, popped these in and formatted them with no issues. Moved about 1TB of data onto them and put them in use. During the initial transfer the enclosure did work to keep them cool but not more than with the previous drives. After that they have been in constant - ON mode as the drives that serve up my iTunes and iPhoto data on my home network. I've have no issues and they are pretty quit even under moderate load. The real test is failure over time and only time will tell... till them I'm satisfied.

I have purchased numerous Seagate hard drives over the past 20 years. They are very reliable. I have never had a Seagate drive fail.

I have been doing a lot of research trying to fine which drives on the market support the older Windows Home Server (WHS) V1 OS. Since almost all drive currently support 4k sectors rather than 512 like WHS v1 requires, it makes it difficult to find a replacement drive. This drive although 4k has built in support for 512 systems. It makes the migration to newer drive technology painless. Should you have a WHS home server environment running v1, then look no further for a good replacement that is simple to implement. Good job SeaGate

Adding a 3rd drive to my 2008 Mac Pro allowed me to keep OS 10.6.8 and also have a drive running 10.9. Can use old and new apps, so far.

Bought to replace a failing hard drive; installation went easier than expected and performance is trouble-free so far.

Sold and marked as a kit, is not a kit! Bare drive only. Best Buy only opened another one and gave me kit prices. No compensation for my time to drive 50 miles each way to the Best Buy or any price adjustment on the item.

My hard drive crashed, and I bought this Seagate 2 TB replacement. It worked in my Dell T7400 computer with no issues.

Bought a few months ago for new system build using Windows 7 64bit operating using 8 core AMD processor. I put my operating system on 2 drive RAID 0 and a backup RAID 0 with 4 older drives. I use the Windows experience performance test and the RAID 0 "C" drive scored 6.2. I was a little disappointed with that considering that RAID 0 is fast and I have 16 gigs of RAM Memory with a 8core processor overclocked to 3.8 gigahertz. I however have almost no lag time when opening multiple hard drive intensive programs at the same time and multitasking. I also lost 2 gigs of the space in the RAID 0 due to operating system constraints. The hard drives are operating flawlessly though.

Priced very well-does the job nicely easy install My son builds computers and said I got the right thing...recommend

I am using the drive in a docking station and I have two of them in the station and they work just the way they should.
