Replacing a failed Dell factory drive. Works just fine.

Bought this to replace a dying 1.5TB drive. The cloning software available from the Seagate website made it easy to copy everything over and get up and running in just a little over an hour (thank goodness, I wasn't looking forward to downloading 500GB of games all over again). So far so good, and the large 64MB cache has made it noticeably faster than my old drive.

price is good for the product, the quality was awesome

Good value for the price and easy to install by myself.

Large and fairly quick. No issues yet but it's early and it was cheap.

Bought this as a Black Friday Special. Got it at a very decent price. Shipped very quickly. Installed very easily. I am enjoying the speed and the "quiet" as my old hard drive was continually humming. To date, I have no negative comments or complaints. Thanks for the great deal!

Bought this primarily to manually copy files off a computer before doing a full system restore. Turns out, the backup software it comes with is pretty darn nifty. You can manage files manually AND use the automated backup software on the drive at the same time, no problem.

Installed in an older system to run as a DVR and has been working great. I have already saved 66 HD episodes of "Castle" and still have tons of space left. Runs quick enough to stream to other systems on my network.

Had 4 months no issues, would give 5 when I have for over a year

I bought this drive to use in my NetGear Stora NAS device in RAID mode. I have three of these drives now, and I swap them out monthly to provide an offsite backup for my home office. This is a well-build hard drive, and it fits the need perfectly. The price is good, too.

This drive provides good performance for constant access.

I don't have the money to buy a new computer, so I added some "memory" and transferred my 1000's of pix & music to this drive. Geek Squad came to my house & installed it, so I cannot speak to the install process. I have had no issues with it. It seems to work just fine.

My hard drive crashed. This drive slid right into place. I installed Windows, used OneDrive and Dropbox to recover my data (except for everything on the Desktop), and I was all set. Four rather than five stars because of no utility to transfer files from an old drive or a backup drive to the new one.

Seagate is one of my go-to brands for disk drives. This one replaced an apparently failing drive in my late brother's iMAC. As usual I did a full format to check the surface completely, and the formatting completed without errors.

This is probably just as good as any hard drive. Most are made by the same manufacturer or two anyway. Actually I just read an article that Seagates fail more often than others and that Hitachis are best. But who knows? Hopefully this one will last a while. If not I won't buy a Seagate again. But as I said, so far so good.
