I bought this to replace a bad drive. I installed it and it worked great for a few months. All of a sudden, my computer crashed and wouldn't boot up. Seemed like it was the same problem that happened to the last drive. Luckily, since the last crash, I've been diligent with backups and had one readily available. The drive also was readable from a external hard drive cage so I was able to get what I needed off it. I reinstalled in my computer and it booted up again. Haven't used it since, but gave me a little scare. Not a fan of seagate right now.

Bought as gift for grandson. He reviewed this item and it was what he wanted for Christmas. He has already installed it and so far likes it.

One of the strengths of the 2TB drive is it is larger than a 1TB drive. One of the weaknesses is that it is not as large as a 3TB drive.

Bought many over the years decent but have a high failure rate and many have died after Right after the warranty period.

I've used Seagate drives for years, and have always been happy with them. I have a pair of these running in a RAID 0 array, and the performance is great.

My only complaint about this drive is really the result of my not understanding that my interface could only handle 3Gb. If you have the right SATA interface (6Gb transfer rate) this drive would probably be great.

I have always been happy with Seagate and bought this to house my whole house media on a single drive. Very happy with the product so far.

Bought to replace my 500 gb barracuda wich started posting w an error a year ago. Old one ran well even with the error so no problems with buying another. Quiet and with the software easy to move my Os and files over

Bought this for my security camera system, the 2TB hard drive is excellent plenty of storage at a reasonable price per MB of storage.

Great capacity and price, just perfect for every day tasks, and fast since its 7200 rpm, now I only have to wait and see its reliability.

I needed to replace my hard drive this fit perfectly. Turns out, that wasn't the solution needed. So I returned it and purchased a new computer.

It took less than 10 minutes to install. My drive was up and running in a about 20 minutes. So far so good. Will give more update in few months. Good value

I've been using seagate drives for years and they have been very reliable. I'll continue to purchase as long as they don't let me down!

Great hard drive. I would buy it again. Seagate is a great company, with a good warranty. Would maybe consider getting one with a 5 year over the 3 year.

Steam does not charge sales tax so using a credit card has that advantage but if you don't have one or don't want to use one this is a great alternative.

Put these into my RAID array and so far so good. Just the drives in the box and needed to format once I dropped into the array.

I bought this drive to replace a western digital 5400rpm drive that kept giving me errors. I expected improved performance based on the 7200rpm speed and other reviews I read. I still had slow performance and ended up rebuilding my computer from scratch because I thought maybe something else was wrong. My OS is now on a solid state drive and the Seagate is a secondary drive. Even with a fan blowing right across it, it still runs hot and I still get a seek error rate warning.

The RPM speed is too slow for what I was looking for. Large memory capacity howeve, I found that this product was too slow for my computer. Just not pleased with item for what I had paid for it.

My old drive was going bad and needed a new larger one. This one was at a great price and works great.

I don't recommend using a disk this size for your operating system. Actually, I would recommend a Solid State Drive for your OS. However, for storage, this is a great solution.
