Customers express satisfaction with the 2TB Seagate hard drive's performance, large storage capacity, ease of use, and competitive price. Many also found installation straightforward and the drive to be quiet. While some experienced issues with the warranty and the lack of included SATA cables and mounting screws, these concerns were less frequently reported than positive feedback.

Don't miss my SSD--too much

I had Windows bonk out on me so I had to either buy a full version of Windows (my computer came with it pre-installed and no Windows DVD) and install it on my SSD and then go through the process of moving my profile to my much larger and much slower 5400 RPM hard drive or go through the process of restoring my original config, shrinking the volume and making an image to put on my SSD and then move the user profile to my large (and slow) hard drive. Turned out Best Buy had this drive at a price well below what it cost for Windows 7. It's not as fast as my SSD but it's still much faster than my original hard drive. Setting it up after installation was a breeze. If you don't have the money or patience for an SSD setup this is a very good alternative.

Good, fast drive; perhaps ... ?

The drive is large, and fast. However, when I went to the Seagate website database there was an absence of information. It looks like the model being sold by Best Buy is a precursor to the current model. The current model appears to be almost identical to the one I purchased except that all the current Seagate internal hard drives have a much shortened warranty. If you value a 5 year warranty you should buy these remaining prior models from retailers like Best Buy. Seagate stated that any hard drive being sent to their retailers after June 1 have a much reduced warranty. I am still not absolutely sure that the SATA interface is SATA III. However, I have not discovered how one can tell, perhaps by reviewing the firmware. The box would seem to indicate SATA III, but then again the technicians and sales people were unsure when I first contacted them.

Price: Best Buy's price was good considering that Thailand has not yet recovered from last fall's floods. I got tired of waiting for another $20 drop.
Use: Bought two to add to NAS/Server. Detected as SATA III, but I've not tested them at 6 GBps.
Reliability: Of more than a dozen Seagate Barracuda drives (incl'g 4@2TB, 3@500GB, 4@160GB, etc.) I've only had one failure of a 160GB IDE in 10 years. Two of three 500GB SATA II drives have reported as failing by a RAID-1 Controller but then test Good as non-RAID. This 5-year warranty is difficult to find anymore.

Great 2TB harddrive for the price. It was bought to expand our PS4 harddrive. This works great and had no complications with getting it to work.

Easy install. However the drive did not come with a cd rom, mounting screws, power adapter, or sata cable (interface cable). It did however come with a manual. I even asked a sales associate he said it does come with them. I had to make an extra trip to BB for a sata cable. Please update the description
Also the sales associate/cashier didn't ask me for my BB ID so I didn't earn points for this purchase.

Its really good and reliable drive. the only thing that bugs me a little is a high pitch noise it makes. but once I closed my case, i cant hear it so i am okay with it. Had this drive since august 2014, and it works well so far.

I've had this 2 TB drive installed almost four months. I put it in, cloned my C:/ drive and all is good. As I read some of the negative reports I have to wonder how shorting out a drive or losing data or messing up Windows on a copy/clone can be blamed on the hard drive. I use WD Scorpio Black and Segate interchangeably and am hard pressed to tell the difference in reliability or performance on drives this large. The Windows experience sure can't tell, they both rate the same.
(We have two desktops and i7 and a QUAD 4) two drives in each.
Good drive if taken care of with proper cooling and a little dusting every now and then!

Got 4 of these to use in a new Raid enclosure. Took em out of the box, installed them in the enclosure and a few minutes later Window 8 was formatting them in the Drive Manager.
i have purchased several Seagate drives over the last 6 months, from 1TB to 3TB, and they all work great!

the installation was easy. Getting Windows 10 to recognize it was harder. That's a MS problem. The drive itself works great and my son uses it to store his videos and game captures. Much needed space added to the computer for such large files.

Easy Setup - A little loud on spin down

I installed this as a secondary drive on a Linux machine with 4 year old motherboard. Installation was a breeze. Format was quick (for a drive this size). Copied over 200 GB to it without any problems. Has been stable for over 30 days.
My only issue is that after about a minute of leaving it idle, it buzzes for a split second. I thought it was a problem with the drive, and ran several diagnostics on the drive and it seems fine. Time will tell.
Heads Up: I purchased this via bestbuy.com and picked up in store. I later found a slightly cheaper price and tried to price match in store. They were not able to help since I purchased online but directed me to the 888 number. It took a while to verify but they took care of me.

I was in need of a new 2TB hard drive to replace an old failing Hitachi drive. I decided to go to Best Buy, it's close and the hard drive prices are good but the selection is limited. I wanted a WD Blue drive but they only had the Green in the 2TB. The Green is 5400rpm and the Blue is 7200. The Seagate was on sale for the same price as the WD Green so I bought it. I thought is was odd that the warranty information was not displayed on the box but I found out why, It's only one year. Thought about bringing it back but I have had Seagate in the past and the life expectancy has been good, I'll give it a try but if I had it to do over I would buy something with a better warranty.

This was my second time installing a new hard drive. I went from a 100G to 2T. The installion was easy and I installed it while the other hard drive was still hooked up so I could transfer everything over to this bigger one and it was a breeze with the software included. The software formatted then new drive and then cloned my old hard drive when I chose that option. Once the old one was cloned I unhooked it since it was going bad

Great drive for home PC

This was a replacement drive for my 300GB drive in an old home PC. The drive installation was straight forward and extrememly easy (Thanks to HP for making the PC with easy access rails and cables!) There were no problems setting the drive as the primary boot drive or with the migration of my existing drive. The Seagate migration software was fantastic. All seems great and now I can start working on filling the 2 TB :)
