I installed this in a Directv HR24-500 receiver. 4 times the capacity and much improved speed especially when mrv accessed.

I have two of these in raid 1 and they have not given me any problems. They run very cool in comparison to all of my other hard drives. Also I haven't seen another hard drive with a 5 year warranty. BUY THIS DRIVE.

Use these drives in my RAID. solid performance, stores stuff and last pretty well. Can usually catch on a decent sale if you're patient.

Works fine with win 8. I store some archived virtual machines from my old rycylced laptops. i can play with vmplayer that I have stored on this drive.

Seagate has always been a great product. Easy to set up format and install.

The Product was a good price and works fine, had no problems installing and it is working fine some months later.

I picked up one of these because my server was at almost 85% of it's 1 TB capacity. Backed up the data on the old drive, installed and formatted the new drive, and then restored the data. Took a while because of the large capacities, but once it was complete, it's been running fine. Now, I've got plenty of room to expand. :-)

I bought this Seagate to replace a comparable Western Digital that went bad - and I couldn't RMA it as the diagnostic detected no probems. Not a huge fan of Seagate in the past but this time around, they just blew WD out of the water - not in terms of performance but in terms of sound. I think that the value of a quiet home PC is underestimated by a lot of hardware manufacturers, but they seem to have gotten it.

the install and set up is pretty simple. should be typical for any hard drive install.

For the price, this is a good product no issues with work capacity.

Had to use another program from "Acronis" to clone another disc so this would work. The program that came with the Hard drive was worthless. It did nothing to help Windows set it up or change anything in the bios. The little booklet also gave no clues...you have to guess your way out. After set up as a clone it worked great.

Excellent piece of equipment. Had a little problem with software install but got it done. Difference applications made it a challenge for a dummy.

Don't believe the spec section on this drive. When I validated the warranty on the two new drives I received today it was only 1 Year.

I bout this item a week ago, it seem all good the HDD was packed nice and tight. I install the HDD and it worked well...after week it made this weird beep noise then it stop then beep again. I install a game into it and back up my file. when i play my game it mad a small nose like a buzz*, but the sound was vary low barley noticeable. after a few hours i back up some files then it crash. I restated my computer and it seems fine...so far. I think this weeking I'm going to best buy to trade it for a another one. I'm not too sure if I want to recommend this to a friend. if the next one start to "F" up then no

This drive was purchased to replace my drive that crashed. It has been a great replacement with more storage.
