Western Digital used to be known for producing disk drive controllers.. Now it makes very stable and fast hard drives. A marriage made in heaven. Nothing against Seagate. Seagate has been making hard drives long before Western Digital became a company and their hard disks are also reliable. I choose WD because of the price for a 3 TB hard disk vs others.

This hard drive was perfect for my needs. It has so much storage space and has continued to work flawlessly. I have had no issues and no signs of it wearing down. I have filled it halfway with digital content and it still runs smoothly. Amazing for the price!

I use these mainly to archive compressed video footage for my business. Using multiple drives as a redundant backup can be costly, but these drives are very reasonable and help me keep my cost down. I've never had a problem with these drives.

Although it took me a few to figure out how to get windows to not partition the drive this was an easy install and came with everything I needed. Very happy with this purchase. Now I am just wishing they had the 4TB in stock.

So far works great no issues, added onto my custom pc for extra storage, with ease. Get the job done for a good price.

Using for security camera feeds in a stand alone device and it is working great. Handles 3 different home security cameras full time storage. Has been in constant use over the past month without any errors. Quick and large capacity device at a great price.

It took a little more than plug and play to get the desktop to recognize it, but once installed I'm glad I went with this 7200rpm 3tb drive over a slower 4tb drive. Very fast transfer speed and plenty of storage for my music and photos.

We needed to add a drive to a Linux PC and this one dropped in easily and the setup instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great performance and capacity, especially for a drive around $100.

Seagate makes reliable hard drives it was easy to install in my MAC desktop and transferring of files was a breeze, although the fan was loud I was able to find an app to turn it down but still keep the hard drive cool.

Easy install. WIndows 7 requires a GPT partition (which Windows prompts you for), then don't need to download the Seagate software. Faster than previous 5400 rpm drive.

After the awful WD hard drive failure, I've turned my attention onto Seagate and I don't regret my decision. This model runs silent and smooth. Need to get some more!

This hard drive does the job. I love the performance and capacity for an affordable price. I usually buy western digital, but this time Seagate was the winner.

Now a days I wouldn't make this a main drive, but as a media center drive this is a great buy. I can put more than 1000 movies on this drive and run it right out to my apple tv. Very nice

The drive is great on space and performance (for a non ssd). I use it for gaming and archiving. It is faster and cheaper than my WD black and it is also 3 times the space. and does not run as hot. It does make a chirping sound every once in a while. This appears to be a known issue but it does not impact performance. It is a little thicker than most drives these days. If physical space is an issue. you probably should verify it will fit before you buy.

Good drive, much faster than its predecessor. The tradeoff is the drive has increased vibration which makes it a bit noisier. For the price and speed it's certainly not a problem though.

Seagate always was reliable & this drive is holding up fine under daily heavy use. Wish they had the long 5 year warranty they used to offer.

Ok, so let start by saying how Very Pleased I am with Sam and all the other members of the Geek Squad on Jonestown Road PA. He also Installed a Solid State Main Hard Drive for my Operating System, Microsoft Windows 8.1 Operating system, Webroot Secure Anywhere Internet Security and transferred the data from my old Hard Drives. I also had a Power supply which was starting to fail and Sam hooked me up with a replacement and now my Computer ROCKS !!! Hey Listen up !!! I know you may hear a lot and perhaps see a lot of Bull out there concerning Customer Service, but please let me assure you that The Geek Squad at Best Buy is the REAL DEAL !!! I did research on the Solid State Drives after Sam talked me into replacing my failing drive with one and I found out that You can SAVE 70 HOURS a YEAR in Boot Up Time !!! Yeah That's Right 70 HOURS !!! That's More Time to Get Gaming, Processing and All your Work DONE !!! Also with NO MOVING PARTS , Solid State drives are Far Less Likely to FAIL thus Protecting all your hard Work and Data! I purchased this on sale to add to my computer to store my video games and now that games take up so much space I needed the extra room for those and my music. The drive is very fast and was easy to add to my computer. Great size. I was able to clear my 750 GB drive for other things.I am so happy and I should have done it sooner.

I bought this hard drive along with an after market bay for my PS4 to expand from 500gb to 3tb. Install was complete it less than 10 mins. Works flawless
