Seagate just works

I have always chosen Seagates for their reliability. This is the 3rd drive on my network (my 5 year old Seagate is still working great)
This Seagate 3GB went into my MacPro with no problems at all - took all of 3 minutes to install, including opening the tower case.
What made my purchase exceptional was the fact I did not have to wait for shipping - I ordered it the night before and picked it up in-store. Usually, I have to wait a week to 10 days for shipping cross country.
And to top it off, it was much cheaper at Best Buy than the usual vendor I order it from. I will definitely order from here again.

I purchased a doc to run drives since we're in the motion picture business and fill drives rapidly. This drive works perfectly, so far, with our systems and we can easily swap it out from the doc to work on other projects. It's perfect for what we do.

Good price to performance ratio, quality, MTTF

Seagate makes good quality drives for a good price, and this drive is no exception. Geared toward the consumer market, as far as description, design, price point. As easy to install as any other internal hard drive, ideal as a standard desktop drive, but due to new technologies, may not be ideal for business applications (e.g. RAID setups/arrays). Only downside is warranty, since Seagate has lowered warranties from standard 5 year to 2 year to be competitive with other consumer based products, and to be on par with current SSHD hybrid warranties. Recommend based on past experience, time will tell whether mean time to failure (MTTF) extends beyond current warranty threshold.

I have two internal Seagate drives and I love both of them. They are very fast when it comes to transferring large files files like movies and such. Seagate really stands behind their drives and I have had much better with them than Western Digital.

I trust Seagate more than WD. I feel that the drive quality is far more superior. I use the 3TB SATA drive to back-up my photographs each year. It's super easy to install (hardware and software) and is read through my server and external drives.

Large drive, but a few extra steps to setup

I went for a 3GB drive when my existing drive went out. It's not a brand new computer, so I had to use the included software to access the space >2GB as a separate partition. Not difficult, but it did take a little longer than normal to get things setup. In terms of performance, I wonder whether it is optimal to have all that data on one drive, but realistically, I won't start using that extra GB for a long time, so not really a problem. I've always chosen Seagate drives because of their 5-year warranty (drives of any brand don't usually last that long for me), so I'm disappointed they dropped that, but the overall value is still better than other brands.

I have had great luck with Seagate drives going back to the SCSI and IDE drives and even the 15,000 rpm Barracuda drives for my real time editing workstation. Have never had an issue and this 3TB drive is working great

My 1TB internal drive started to fail so I bought this 3GB monster! I also bought an external docking station and used the included software to copy my drive. This drive has been running great - fast and quiet!

Bought this for my first PC build! Functions properly and is at appropriate speeds. I would recommend this HDD as BestBuy also price matches. I will be buying a larger HDD as I need all the space I can get.

Hard drives are hard to review before using them for a long time first, but as far as functionality goes, this one seems to be great. I read a lot of reviews before choosing a new drive and it seems like this drive is either good or bad, and it just depends on if you're lucky or not. I installed and formatted it immediately and then transferred just under 2TB of movies/music/pictures to it. It runs quickly and quietly and hasn't showed any signs of instability.

I recently upgraded my storage from 1TB to 3TB. I play several MMO's that take up a lot of space. This gave me the ability to store more of my games and also pictures and music without having to worry about running out of space.

Changed my Samsung 1TB security system drive up to this 3TB drive with no problems and gave me 3 times the footage stored before it has to overwrite the oldest records.

I purchased this drive to use as data storage but also for streaming media from my home server to my Rokus and handheld devices. It has worked great and has allowed multiple shows to stream at once.
The only complaint I have is it takes a few seconds for it to spin up and get going after extended period of non-use but after it wakes up it does a great job.
For the price (bought it at $124.99) this drive has been very reliable, with a very good amount of storage and decent access speeds. I would purchase it again.

I am using this drive as a storage drive for video, photos and data since my primary drive is a small SSD. I bought this drive because of reviews I had read for the large storage capacity. It has not disappointed me. Previously I used the 2TB drives for backup/storage and found them to be reliable and so is the 3TB model. I now have two of them, I was so pleased with the first one I bought another to use in my other computer that is primarily used for gaming.

I bought this because the hard drive failed on my Mac. All I had to do is replace the hd, repartition, and I was up and running in about 4 hours, after a 3 hour Time Machine restore.
