Didn't use the supplied software, just dumped myself. It worked as advertised and was pretty cheap for an brick and morter purchase.

This was bought for the specific purpose of downloading a large amount of data from a laptop (offsite) and then uploading to the office computer. With this hard drive, we were able to quickly download and upload. This was used by a non-technical person and it was very easy to use.

My son's computer was blue screening, and needed it fixed quickly to be ready for summer classes. Geek Squad told us what to do, we needed to backup his data, and install updates. Went to the shelf, got just what we needed at a reasonable price, went home, and took care of the problem.

I am using this hard drive to backup my files and it is working great. I don't have any problems with it.

I have this product for a while and I think it's well worth the money. I am a brand loyal customer , I buy all my hard drive from seagate. The speed of the transfer is ok.

yes, great camera, only thing when I come to Best Buy to buy a battery for it, I have NEVER been able to do so, if you sell the camera, you should carry the batteries.......

Had a problem with the first one, but it was replaced without any problem. The new one works perfectly. I don't use the Dashboard; just prefer to copy what I'm backing up into a file and then dragging it over to the Backup Plus Slim. I run the backup weekly which works for me.

I can't believe this Seagate 1 TB of backup fits in such a small, compact package. We purchased a 1TB backup for our Mac 2 years ago and it's probably 10 times the size. It's easy to move files as well as backup my laptop. Easy to transfer large files from my laptop to coworker's laptops. Great product

This was easy to install and it backs up my "stuff" every Friday. After reading comments before purchase, I noted one that said he had trouble restarting his computer until he disconnected the Seagate backup then plugged it back in after the reboot. I did the same just to make sure & appreciated him putting this in his comment. Only had for a few wks so can't give it 5 stars yet but so far, so good.

This is my fourth Seagate external backup drive. The others are for different machines. Although this is not a solid state device, I only run it when I need to do a backup. Therefore, it only spins when I connect it for a backup. USB 3.0 makes for quick backup after the initial backup.

I use this hard drive and the software that came with it to keep my MAC backed up all the time automatically. It is a wonderful secure feeling to know that everything is backed up and I will never lose my work or have my system corrupted.
